Thanks very much. Came across this location incidentally on our holidays and knew I needed to film it. Already had the piece of music in mind, so I was able to purposefully time the shots to the musical phrases. Lots of fun doing that. Next posting this week will be of railways, but I have plenty of drone footage still to edit after that. Dave

Thanks Josh. This was filmed a few years ago and some of the cows have grown up since then but they are still worth a visit near Levisham station.
We used to go on our annual club trip to Cleethorpes from Cudworth station in the early '60s when I was small. I remember the carriages were a sort of pinky red colour & being pulled by steam engine. We used to walk there over the fields from Lundwood! Happy days!
I was born in the 60s so just a little before my time for going on trips, but remember coming through Cudworth on an Intercity from Sheffield on a School trip to Hadrian's Wall. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching. Pleased you enjoyed the video. I filmed the footage throughout an afternoon, having checked the timetable for when the most activity would occur. I think you are right, I seem to remember a busier schedule before Covid. Also, the lack of suitable coal supplies has been an issue since the start of the Ukraine war.
The island is greener than I would have expected. It would be fun to explore it on foot but the drone gives us a stellar view too! I found it on Google Earth to see even more!
No longer inhabited but can be accessed by boat trip. That was a very busy day for tourists, boats and jet skiing.

Hi Mr Hirst just to let you know at Levisham on the NYMR the general has. been decorated for Halloween
My dad is station master at Levisham, it is interesting to see this fire as I have seen all of the others but this one and also just in case there is any worries about these fires they where during the heat waves and there was 2+ years of dead brush sat around that was drive after the fires we would run diesels for at least a month and also the place of the fire is in a better condition than it was it is slowly greening up again
I can appreciate all the hard work that goes in to preventing fires on a railway like this. While I was there i saw the teams following the engines looking for any smouldering. I also have video of a small trackside fire being extinguished at Levisham. Great work and thanks to all the volunteers that keep the services running.
