Churnet Valley Railway - USATC 6046 Engine departing Kingsley & Froghall Station

  • American built USATC 6046 awaiting departure at the Kingsley and Froghall station on the Churnet Valley Railway. First built in Philadelphia, the engine served it's days in France an Hungary, and was saved from the scrap yard to restoration at the Churnet Valley. Over the years it has also made appearances at North Yorkshire Moors and Nene Valley.

    Unusual compressor exhaust sound and quite a bark on the takeoff with the whistle so US

      Agree; quite a distinctive sounding engine. Makes the video sound badly recorded but that is how it sounded on the day.
