Dyson V8 - brush not spinning - PCB repair

If the brushes no longer work, it is possible that the problem is caused by the failure of the MOSFET that is responsible for powering the motorized accessories. This vacuum cleaner model (Dyson V8) contains a MOSFET M13C30/ PSMN013-30MLC (N-channel 30 V 13.6 mΩ logic level MOSFET). In this case, replacing this MOSFET solved the problem.

Because the motor heats up during operation, the manufacturer provided the motor housing (gray component) with channels that ensure the engine's ventilation by creating an air current. Well, if somehow water gets between the rotating drum and the motor housing, all that water will be sucked by the motor, with the result that can be seen in the video. Water can get there for the following reason...

    Hello, my Dyson V8 Absolute brush spins for a couple of seconds when turned on and then stops. The motor runs, but when the brush is attached, it stops. What could be the problem? Everything is cleaned. Thank you.

    Okay overall I'm quite impressed with your persistence and also Dyson's engineering. You've thoroughly convinced me not to try this with mine... but now I'm wondering if there is an alternative method of deep cleaning. Do you think you could simultaneously blow air through the vacuum while lightly touching it with a vibrating finish sander? Maybe the high frequency vibration would shake off all that caked on dust? any other ideas on how to clean it?

    I think I got the same problem with my v8 soft brush. After cleaning everything it only spins for a few seconds and than stops. I don't have the professional tools to check, but this also sounds like a wire problem right?

    Show about if the motor is spinning very strong and the little chrome cross-bar seems to be spinning with full strength…..until you place the brush head into the holder and then the motor balks and gets hung up? Anyhow have experience with this scenario?

      Release the wires from the upper side, connect them to motor, tie them with small rope and while placing motor to its place, pull cables up and fit to housing

    Very helpful video. Only difference is that when i pulled out the motor with the gear it had the 3 other gears that go around it stuck there as well, and it was a pain in the ass to get it back innside with the right gear position. Ended up pushing the top part with the 3 rods for the 3 gears down and out so i could mount it before sliding the whole thing back into the casing and secure it. recommend running it a bit before full assembly to listen for gear whine. Mine was off by 1 notch and made a grinding whirring sound so i had to repeat the whole process ^^

    My problem is that not only does the brush not turn but I can’t even get it out. I have the little cap off, but can’t get the brush to come loose, even pulling with a vice grips. I have the belt off but can’t go any further without getting at that last screw, since the brush won’t come out. Any suggestions?

    I when0 had the Mega S never had any problems. Whereas with the Kobra Neo I do and now when I insert the filament it comes out perfectly melted. But during the spampa nothing comes out. I got fed up with the standard insignificant extruder and put the one on the Kobra2 hoping for success but in this case the motor refuses to work. I ran the 'firmware update ...... . Solutions ? Thank you very much.

    Hiii what would your recommendation be for when the cyclone motor body gets wet. For context my bf vacuumed beer up on a Saturday night so Monday night I made sure to clean my Dyson parts and dusted off the cyclone body, also let it rest our side so that any moisture could dry. This morning I woke up to it drizzling, I haven’t tested it out as I’m waiting for it to hopefully air dry. So idk I’m just looking for guidance on what to do since warranty doesn’t cover it and they’re out of stock right now. Thank you

    Amazing. I had this on my first unit after one week of use. Dyson support did not suggest doing this, they instead took it for repair and ended up sending me a new one. Well, after two weeks with the new one its done the same thing and I was almost about to get in touch with support... but this two button reset did the trick instantly. Does anyone know why it does this in the first place?

    Do you have any video which gives info about the thin red and white wires? What is the voltage of that and where is it connected? I have to test a dyson v6l motor without other parts just by itself and there is no info, I guess 3.3v or 5v but I want to be sure.

    • @birkan1

    • @techfixPOV
      @techfixPOV Місяць тому

      Those wires are connected to the accessory connector for powering the brushes. There should be battery voltage when a brush is connected.

    • @techfixPOV

      The white connector is from the hall sensor that will activate the boost function when you move the MAX button. It should work with this connector unpluged.
