That is exactly what happened to my printer. And I'm extremely lucky to find your video very first. Thanks

I was printing at 60mm/s infill speed on Anycubic Mega S with TMC2208 driver on all steppers, and I got this problem. I systematically did the bending wires while printing. Also checked all the terminals and controller boards solders... could not find anything and ran out of options.
Then, I tuned printing infill speed down to 50mm/s and now it is fine.
60mm/s works fine on Ender 3, but on Anycubic Mega S in practice is goes like twice as fast and looks like really pushing it. Maybe some termal protection kicks in somewhere in the circuit when pushing it too much, and then indeed this random full stop somewhere in a print.
Thanks for this great vid, as something to start with. And then useful comments, as a checklist to scan to isolate the problem. Hereby another option added to the list. Goodluck!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I’ve been going nuts trying to fix this issue.

Mine keeps doing this, but with only one specific file, and it doesn't stop in the same spot, it will print and stop in random spots. Everything else I print works out fine.

Got the same issue with a Anycubic Max and have reached out to Anycubic for parts to replace possible broke wires. Unfortunaly Anycubic has not responded to any of my requests. Is there a web page where parts can be purchased that you are aware of? Thanks.

I when0 had the Mega S never had any problems. Whereas with the Kobra Neo I do and now when I insert the filament it comes out perfectly melted. But during the spampa nothing comes out. I got fed up with the standard insignificant extruder and put the one on the Kobra2 hoping for success but in this case the motor refuses to work. I ran the 'firmware update ...... . Solutions ? Thank you very much.

It could be the stepper driver. They aren't that costly, maybe it's worth it to give it a try.

I've had a similar problem, if you don't see any broken wire, check the terminal blocks on the board: mine was partially unwelded

Yes, that could be a problem too.

I had the same thing happen to my printer where it would cut out and then it wouldn't let me pause or stop the print. i wiggled the wires and it stopped it. i just cut the wrap off the wires and now no matter how much i mess with them its not stopping? So i don't think i fixed the issues but for now its working lol.

Check the bed terminal block on the board, it could be unwelded

What the… happened to that printer it looks just ugly 😂. I had the same problem but it was not the cable itself, it was the soldered connection at the heatbed.
Thanks for sharing stuff like that it helps so much

I know it doesn't look pretty, actually this is not my 3D printer 😁. Maybe it will be useful to other users who face the same problem. Cheers! 🍻

Hi. How do you solved the soldered connection problem?

  • @yeagermcbipper9008

Soldering is a horrible fix. The copper wires will work harden and break at the solder joint. Only a new wire or a mechanical splice (butt connector, twist wires etc) will truly fix it. It WILL break again.
