Thanks, Frank for this well-thought-out approach to doing mosaics. I do mosaics fairly often but I process them in Astro Pixel Processor. It gives better results for mosaics with zero effort as compared to PI, in my opinion. However, I really like how mosaics turned out in your video. I use quite a few of your processes instead of PI so this is a welcome addition to SAS.

Have you had any issues with Dnalinearfit chrasing 1.9.2 pixinsight?

Incredible work, Frank! It's funny that Siril has been teasing their mosaic stitching for months and here you come out with an easy solution. I'm thinking about how I can use this feature for Seestar and Dwarf mosaics. They're not your normal stitching job. I have a way to do it in PI but it's cumbersome and also a way to do it in Sirl but it won't be possible until the next version is released. Fun stuff. Kudos and keep it up!

It doesn't seem to work on RGB FITS from one-shot-color cameras. I get a washed out white rectangle as mosaic result when I try to combine 2 frames. Also seems to use only 1 CPU thread.

Was so happy to see this video because iam always struggling with mosiac. Tried it immediately. But unfortunately no luck . My pictures are aligned really weird. Iam sure I miss a thing. I do more than 20% overlap. When I stretch the image a lot it works

My biggest problem with mosaics is the capturing part. How do you arrange the mosaic to get the right Ra/Dec coordinates and rotation?

When I apply denoise for the second time (what you do at 15:35) it always crashes the app. I can't get past this step. Even when reloading Seti, open my project back up (I save after every step) it crashes at denoise every time.

It's insane how complete your Suite is becoming. Pretty soon there will be no need for PixInsight!

Have never attempted a mosaic purely due to how complicated it appears to be, however this looks easy, can't wait to try it!!

Been a Siril user for years, and have lots of mosaic data ive never been able to assemble. Very interested in trying this. Having a linux version as well is a big plus!

amazing! you bring each week some very cool features into the Suite. I was waiting for mosaic to be implemented in Siril, but now I don't need to, cool! Can you please tell us, exactly the workflow for OSC or OSC+NB images. Is it: you make the stacks of the individual areas of the mosaic (in case of NB the individual H3, OIII, S stacks), make background extraction and then you make the mosaic, and after then you make the sharpening, denoise, curves, etc.?

The Image Solver in PI allows higher order polynomials to account for distortion. Are those save in the FITS header when saved and used in Mosaic Master?

I’ve been playing with it today and should be noted that astrometry does not accept tiff files, which is what I get as an output from deep sky stacker changed it to Fitz files and it won’t accept those either so I’m not sure exactly how to do my flow. When I use just my single exposure fits files it works great, but I need to figure out how to stack it.

Well I gotta say I'm amazed at what you're doing for the astro community always fancied doing a mosaic but it's never been an easy process but looks like this is going to be a game changer.

Amazing job. Thank you again. I’ve not tried any mosaics yet. My field of view is a bit on the narrow side for some of the larger DSOs. I was wondering if it is preferable to have individual images with similar or the same fields of views, or will the images be stretched, or shrunk to match. Thanks again.

Any reason why my processing keeps closing unexpectedly while playing with the curves utility? I'm alt tabbing back and forth between this video and my processing and it's just gone. No message or anything. V2.10.2 QT6

...i am just trying this workflow. I am in sharpen/Denoise but when i click fit to preview it goes 1:1. Also when trying to use 'curves' the graph on the left does not work no matter where i click (i realise i may be doing something wrong). The screen (lower left) says, 'no file selected' even though the image i have just 'starlessed' is the only one on screen and in slot 0. The 'Curves Utility' window just does not interact no matter where i click on the graph nor whichever option (K, R,G,B etc) i select. I am just trying to give some feedback and maybe get some help too. 8)
