Thanks, Frank. Great video, indeed. You're establishing new rules and areas of development and processing here. Very innovative and simply put. Amazing!
Really cool that you did that! I have plenty of data of the same objects with my C11 and C14 and always thought i could never use them together. Especially since the one is using the 6200MM and the other one the 6200MC camera - lets go to new shores! Great input (as always!). Thanks a lot!!
These scenario tutorials are so useful... Most other youtube tutorials give the basics but this has been fantastic... I really appreciate the work you put into these videos.... a big thank you Andy
Excellent tutorial. Very helpful. Never would’ve thought of using mosaic. Interesting what strategies you decided to use, has me rethinking my work flow. Thanks!
Great video and thank you for all of the tools you have created and Share. The Tele Vue data looks like broadband data. The Askar and RC looks like dual narrowband (with RC having wider band passes or maybe one those quad filters).
Yes, when i got the masters I didnt even know what filters were used nor seen them before, so the video was a good bitnof just my thought process as we worked through it all
Awesome video, Frank, and quite timely. I have an SCT that I want to shoot luminance with to combine with color data from a refractor. I have been wondering how to combine with the differing pixel scales. I had been thinking using mosaic somehow, but wasn't quite sure how to put the pieces together. This is exactly what I wanted to see. Also, have you use the Selective Color Correction in Jurgen's Toolbox much? I really love it and have pretty much stopped creating color masks. If you really want to get fancy, you can create a very specific color mask using the ColorMask_mod and import it as well. So much control over the color and how it is applied to the image.
Yes i use that as well. I can only fit so much in a video. There are always many ways to accomplish the same thing. I usually use masks. when i use selective color by jurgen i find that i usually am too heavy handed and can see the borders when i was done becuase i usually only stare at the preview. that is not an issue with that tool, that is totally just on me.
Being a relative noob to AP, I wondered how people merged data from different rigs. Great vid! One problem for me is, at present, I don't have PixInsight.🙁
You can use deepskystacker to align the 3 masters actually. You need to integrate them together and turn on the option to save all the intermeduate files. Tgen it will save the registered ones you can use since they will be aligned. Siril can also do stellar alignment. They may fail if tbe scopes are too different though
@@setiv2 Thanks for the info. Might investigate if I ever end up with data from different set ups. Although at present I'll be lucky to get a set of images from one scope with the crappy weather here recently. Next week or so not looking great either. Sigh!
@christopherthomas3403 part of the video is just showing thought processes around handling new situations in processing and thinking outside the box. Dont be afraid to try something! You can always hit undo and try something else
This is incredible Frank, such an awesome tutorial! I'm putting together a dual scope setup but haven't made the jump to PixInsight yet, is there a way to do something similar in Siril with two images of different image scales but similar FOVs?
I am not 100% sure. I really am not that versed in Siril so I will have to defer that to people more in the know. Siril does have some strong alignment tools, so if you can get the images alogned you should be good to go, although it will be more complicated since Siril doesnt have multiple images open at once.
@@setiv2 Appreciate the response! Yes I've tried aligning but it fails just like your example in PI. I think because the image scales are so different. I'll try rescaling one, but it may be time for me to jump over to PI finally...
Very informative video! Your tips are very inspiring. Can you add in the notes the details of the 3 rigs? e.g. camera specs, filters, focal lengths etc? Edit: never mind, i see some of the details below, with the exception of filters. So all of the data was from subscribers then?
Oh dear. I think I am turning into some sort of Seti Astro fan boy. But seriously, I have tried this before and well, it never worked that well. I might give this a try. Thanksl

Frank. This is great. I really enjoy and appreciate the originality of your content.
Great video. I really wasn't expecting that TV image to add much to the other two but it turned out much better than I expected.
Well done Frank, a nice touch for merging different images
That really was an awesome example - many thanks - I have so much more to learn!

Fantastic! Many thanks Frank
Excellent tutorial. Very helpful. Never would’ve thought of using mosaic. Interesting what strategies you decided to use, has me rethinking my work flow. Thanks!
Based on the other comments it seems it didnt follow anyones mainstream "correct" method of doing this lol.
Very cool video. Thank you for sharing.
excellent tutorial
learned some tricks
Wow, I’m completely blown away and rethinking everything with how I manage and process color now! 2025 goals.
Thanks Frank, great video!
Cheers!

Excellent video… most useful.
Curious as to the model of the Askar scope ?
Cheers
No idea lol. I can ask.
1. RedCat 51/533mc-pro OSC
2. Tele Vue TV85/2600mc-pro OSC
2. Askar 140AP0/2600mc-pro
@@setiv2 Brilliant…quite the spread. Most impressed with the Askar !

@ If there are two ways to do something, Pixinsight has five!

Yeah, 1 viewer has all that he took and asked how i would process it
