I was a member of la Luz del Mundo church in Santa Maria, California, I was in shock for 3 days, I abandoned Christianity after studying the Bible with critical thinking, I ascended into true Spirituality, now I'm free from fear of the lake of fire, fear is not love.

I remember my ex used to be soo upset that the holy spirit wouldn't come to him. Also at their church it was like a thing to marry young. And by young I mean ur 16 and ur husband is 24 ect. And his older sister and cousin named their sons after naason.

My ex husband and his fam are deep into the religion. I knew that mess was a cult but I couldn't find info in English to support my theory. My child's grandma has been asking me am I gonna let her present at 14 now that she's 10....

I grew up in this cult as well. I was 4th generation on a convention grounds. 😵‍💫 fortunately I left at 21. I thought I had totally left all the bull shit, but sadly religious trauma syndrome caught up with me 30 years later - around 2020. I nearly lost my life as a result. Sure wish we as humans could leave all this horse shit and all the forms religious and “spiritual” nonsense that haunts and threatens to destroy our species. 🫤

As far as not knowing what happens after we die, you could explore the many videos on Near Death Experiences or NDE's. There are hundreds of stories, but they all have a common theme and common elements. Explore those even just on UA-cam, to expand your ideas and knowledge. Also books like Anita Moorjani's called "Dying to be Me" about her NDE and her complete reversal of cancer when she came back.

Yeah - in the 2x2s we had been conditioned to act a prescribed way and to NOT honor our feelings. Very damaging to just dismiss them and never learn to manage them in a healthy way. Like most marriages in the 2x2s, nobody is equipped to properly deal with their emotions and the way that plays out is to slowly die or blow everything up. When I was growing up that more often than not resulted in an emotionless marriage with an occasion explosion to smooth over, never resolving anything. It's very unlikely that your husband was a narcissist - but that he had been so emotionally damaged by the church that he acted out in ways trying to escape the pain within that he probably didn't even realize was there.

My parents were raised in this church and raised their kids (4 of us) in this church and we each got out within a few years of my parents writing a book about its origins which led to the beginning of being ostracized from it in the early-to-mid 80's. My mom's closest sister who was in it didn't talk to her personally for 10 years.

my advice is you better go back to the meetings be for its too late

When I went to see the show the Mormon Church in my area had taken out an advertisement in the playbill that said "youve seen the play, now come see the real thing" it made me CACKLE out loud 😂😂😂

I left because I found out about the corruption: we were doing freemasonry covenants in the temple, that the church donates more money to the UN, the church answers to the UN, they invest tithing money in the stock market, the leaders bow to the Pope, the top down corporate corruption, the lies about polygamy, the fakeness of the people, trusting in temple ordinances rather than in Jesus Christ who is "the only One who can save"....etc

This is so incredibly sad. I grew up Mormon as well. Although religion and religious structures are very corrupt, the bible is more true than any other book on the planet. Religion is useless, but Jesus is real. He lifted me out of meth and heroin. I love you and your husband a lot. You guys found out about the church and then shut the door on God. The world is falling apart. So many are turning to Jesus because nothing else makes sense. Religion is useless, but Jesus is everything.

I left the “Truth” 15+ years ago. Felt totally alone as all my friends were “Friends”. I have recently joined a ex 2x2s support group on Facebook. It was very hard to leave and feel like I was going to hell and nothing I could do would change that. I was a third generation and only daughter and only sibling that went. So it was hard for my parents but I had to do it for myself and my daughters to get out of a bad marriage. Enjoyed listening to you. Thanks for sharing

I was active in the 2x2’s from 23 to 48, I had a conversation with the Overseer from New York and asked about Irving and if he confessed would he bill allowed to return….. He the Overseer said NO……I said Jesus said you will forgive 70 times 7 or forever. But he said ‘ NO’ he wouldn’t be allowed……So I left and took my 3 Children……I had no church for 2 years and invited myself to a friend ( who was kicked out, 5 years before I left, he was going to breakfast at a Diner with the pastor of a Baptist Church, I started to go and have never left….. Although no-sexual abuse happen I did hear about a worker who raped a younger female worker. Still I left…..oh yes I am a retired New York State Correction Officer…..so the workers would naturally not mentioned any sexual abuse because I would have reported to Law Enforcement………Jim, now I am 71. And glad I left the 2x2’s……My wife left the 2x2’s 11 years before because she felt trapped, she is a Third Generation……My children my son is 41, and my daughters are 37 and 35, both of them are Teaching in Vienna,Austria. My younger one is Married to. 6’ 5” Austrian man, who is the same age…..I talk with them every week and visit them 4 times……..Jim

I have learned to question a lot of things. Cultish behavior can exist in so many ways. Just within Christianity there are celebrity pastors and denominational boxes that exist. I am convinced the bible is God's true word, but realize some mainstream doctrines are not really biblical. One example is eternal conscious torment. I am now convinced that either we have eternal life, or death of the soul.

My wife is a licensed therapist and she runs her own agency. Leaving the church and knowing I'd support her in her goals have really helped her shine. She's pretty incredible. But yeah, I'd also strongly suggest you try and get a formal license. Loved this channel, btw. I've subscribed on the other.
