If you would like to know more details about the injury, here they are. I injured my back on July 15 of 2022. Initially we only got an x-ray to ensure nothing was broken. X-ray was good. My doctors were confident that the treatment would be the same regardless of what happened so we didn't get an MRI right after the injury, but we did several months later and by then we couldn't see what the original injury was anymore. We think it was either a muscle tear or a severe muscle strain. Because of the injury, the muscles were stuck in a chronic tightening and spasming state as they were trying to protect where the injury happened. The most success I have had in healing has been getting the muscles to loosen and strengthening my core muscles to help provide more stability to my back. The reason we saw a rheumatologist was because we wondered if the lack of progress was the result of a potential auto immune disease being present, and luckily that was not the case.
Hi, I'm just writing this message because an approach to your injury that could really help you come out of pain. I study physiology in college and my understanding of severe muscle strains and tears is that they generally heal in as little as 4 weeks.😊 The fact that you still have a lot of pain 3 months after would indicate that it's become very much a mind body issue. I would recommend looking up Dr Howard Schubiner, Dr John Stracks, curable, pain free you and the pain pt
I’m so sorry to hear about your injury. No injury is fun, let alone a back one, let alone one that makes it hurt to breathe. I’m glad that you are on the upswing. So much of this is relatable and I really understand. Down to losing hobbies. Probably none of my current friends know this but I’m a pretty natural tap dancer, wasn’t bad at the drums either, but I slowly couldn’t do either anymore. Too painful. Too tiring. Too exhausted to think about trying. Trying to figure out how to balance your energy and the tasks you want to get some is such a difficult task in and of itself. Thank you for talking about this. Very great points overall.
The level of self-discovery here is incredible. I this the world would be a better place if more people were as will as you to look inward and find the lesson. Glad you’re feeling better Morgan!
Hi! I found your channel after seeing the off-Broadway production of the Book of Mormon in my hometown of Chicago last week. I loved seeing your reaction to the production from a different perspective! So glad to have found your channel because your videos are wonderful! I'm an atheist who was raised Jewish with a dash of Catholicism from my mom. In summary, I'm a guilt-ridden, cynical mess all-around. You've offered excellent advice on all fronts! My husband is 14 years older than I am and has gnarly aggressive prostate cancer. We are so freaking happy, but all of those fears and doubts become daily anti-affirmations. I will never be a purely "positive" person. And that's okay! Cynicism suits me and somehow makes me a "happier" person. I'll take "happier." You rock!
My mom (best parent ever) would always ask: "but did you learn something from X?" Her philosophy was very much that the only truly bad experience is one from which nothing is learned. Hope you keep improving and moving forward.
Really needed to hear this today. It’s So true ! I have a serious leg injury and everything you said here has been valuable and has been my exact experience. Such incredible insight has occurred day by day. I am going to keep this in my notes and listen again whenever I need a reminder I have Full Permission ! I hope you have a Pod Cast one day, you would be a natural PodCast Host Katie 🍃
Thanks Katie! I'm so sorry to hear about your leg. It's absolute help being able to control so little. I hope you can make the best of this time and that you heal well!
Great stuff! I love your fierceness. Ironically, perhaps the greatest lesson is not the takeaway bullet points (although those are all extremely valuable!), rather the disciplined practice of the learning process necessary to get to those points. That is certainly something you can apply to the myriad, out of left field life experiences yet to come.
i find that there are times in life you are forced to slow down and then you start to see what is really important for yourself and your own personal growth. i think when we finally surrender to the obstacles around us and are forced to revaluate and from them we eventually transcend over come them. you can't did ourselves out of a hole but we can learn to build the ladder to climb up it.

Hoping husband was able to give you a massage or 3. 😉🤗
I bet any amount of money the change in your pelvis is from having had a baby. Pelvic floor PT can help.
