I bought this 1984 KLR600 a few months ago. It has a loud slapping / knocking sound and also blows an embarrassing amount of oily smoke upon cold start. Time to tear down the engine and take a look! Here is me doing my best to explain how the KACR works to aide in starting the engine. It releases some of the compression pressure as the piston is travelling upwards on its compression stroke. This makes for easier starting either by foot or with an starter motor. (This bike is kick start only) Thanks for watching!

In this video I adjust the chain tension on a 2001 Kawasaki KLR650. The chain has some tight and loose parts throughout the wheel's rotation. Make sure you have at least 2" of free play when the chain is at the tight part of its rotation. The manual states that the chain should have 2" to 2.4" of free play. Thanks for watching!

I fired up my 2001 Kawasaki KLR 650 to do some last minute checks before selling it to a friend of mine. I found that it only ran on choke and would cut out when I applied the throttle. My suspicion was that the idle (pilot) jet was plugged. Watch as I check and clean the pilot jet in the carburetor and test run the bike afterwards. Thanks for watching!

I bought this 1992 Kawasaki KLR 650 purely for it's colour scheme. It did not run and the previous owner thought it was the CDI box. In this video we work through the ignition system from the spark plug back and find that the bike has a bad exciter coil. Thanks for watching!

My 1981 Yamaha XS1100 had an intermittent issue where it was completely dead sometimes. A swift slap to the left side cover and it would come back to life. In this video we find the main 30A fuse and check its connections. Thanks for watching!

This 1981 Yamaha XS1100 had been sitting for an unknown length of time. The clutch was slow to disengage which made downshifting especially difficult. The choke cable on my Kawasaki KLR 650 wasn't working so I went a head and ordered this inexpensive manual enricher valve off of AliExpress. I think it was $18 or so including shipping. I'm happy with how it works and would recommend this modification over repairing your stock set up. My bike was only starting in neutral with the clutch lever out. This made re-starting after a stall very tedious and unsafe in traffic. Watch as I adjust the switch and show the inner workings. I was happy to be able to get this safety feature working again as it should. Thanks for watching!
