TY VM man, I got the exact same model last year and it has nearly zero grip in heavy rain O.o pretty sure my pads are glazed. Just ordered a new set of sintered pads from Ebay, and will install using your vid when they arrive. 10/10 audio and video quality btw, very informative :) Thank You from Nanaimo
Hey Mr. just came about your channel the other day, I also have a "wonderful" 1981 Yamaha XS1100H, the one fighting the Goldwing, with the fairing and saddlebags. My "rear brakes", they're down to nearly Metal. The shop that replaced them less than 3K miles ago, with the "CHEAPEST" damned EBC brakes that they make........ WOW: pissed me off, I've bought the same kind you shown, they'll be arriving in about 6 more days. I never knew,,,,,, that the 2 rotors on the front of my Yamaha > One was for the front, and the other went together with the rear.....> WOW: Great idea, like the "Audi, FOX" when it came out they advertised about that sort of thing so much,,,,,, but it was "CROSS-WAYS", so if you lost one part, you would still have a front brake , and the opposite rear brake.........
@vancouvercyclist - Have you had to address the rear master cylinder rebuild issue regarding the lack of replacement parts? I'm wondering what you chose to do if so; did you replace the master cylinder with some other set up? I have the 1982 XJ1100 Maxim using the same set up, rear brake pedal controlling the front left caliper as well. I also have a 1980 XS1100LG Midnight Special.
