For the longest time I thought I was a five because they like solitude and want to preserve their energy. The SP type sounds a lot like that. What changed my mind was my aversion to conflict which fives don't seem to be afraid of. Thank you for this enlightening information.

I'm 34 min in: finding delight in anger??? As a One!? If only you talked the same about envy for Fours. Like someone else said. You don't know what kind of demons you're stirring. Just because "anger" sounds like a sexier sin than "envy" it doesn't mean it really is: for Ones is JUST as damaging as envy is for Fours. Please consider this.

I think the example of a tantrum over a fallen hotdog might be more sx. They're the "shameless" subtype, more expressive and at times aggressive in their expression. Social instinct of Any type is more keenly aware of social dynamics, and where shame comes in with type 4 I think social four would not want to embarrass themselves, which is why I think they're one of the subtypes that expresses intense emotions and thoughts through the intermediary of art most often, it's socially minded and has greatest shame about what others perceive among the fours

I had wild experience with sx 8 woman,she just stumbled upon me and was intensely aroused,acting strategicly and dominant but somewhat softly to not scare its prey(me)😅😅A dangerously intense huntes.

This is one of the most accurate descriptions I’ve heard on my type. 😅. I feel like I do pretty well at the “not give to get”, but I’m definitely more motivated to give so I won’t feel bad or out of obligation to help. I had a manipulative and subtly controlling 8 w 7 dad and our relationship operated this way. Oh I’m self-pres by the way.

i love this video, it’s the best one describing fives out of all the ones i’ve seen to date, which is a LOT. eveyone else gets really cartoony with their biases against fives (which really anyone can do, but we fives get it a lot lol). thank you! ❤

I feel like I am a type 8 when I am not in an emotional relationship. But when I am emotionally vulnerable, I am a type 4. Is that possible?

I had someone who was 4, we are deep but maybe somehow differently. I also dont know that I am 9 or 4, I tend to be eccentric as well and very creative. But he was unhealthy because he wanted to save me, I hadnt opinion because he was offended...so I blocked him finally he took a role as a teacher and we werent equal..

Trusted the algorithm. Now I landed here. Through my years I have felt that we 4w5s are the expanding awareness through the many spaces of creality. To all 4s out there, I can warmly recommend looking into non-duality. Unite the mother and father inside. Because yes. They deeply loved one another you see. Otherwise you would not be here. Aha! Now envision all those parts merge inside, you are whole. You always have been. Even when you feel fragmented or scattered. Lost? It just means that you have created and expanded new space. And with that you can now continue to thrive and create. tend to it. water it and witness it all grow. From cell to cell with its electric homeostasis of it all. It is so strange, because I think I’m at a turning point in my life. This particular period is very crucial, since I’m about the publish my first novel that I put some of my own feelings and experiences. Those experiences that I felt ashamed of, because of the way they made me feel. But if the people who read my book, would understand it or could gravitate towards it, my core believe would be shooked Because I create and was always fascinated by intimate one on one relationships, I thought of myself as a 4 sx subtype. I just realized years later that I’m a 4 so. No wonder why I feel that I’m the one with the less knowledge in every college class, even though that couldn’t be farther from the truth…

1h11mn So true... while many of the other types move upwards as they mature...up to the mountaintop... to transcendence and to the spirit, the movement of the four is often down into the Vales and the valleys of "ensoulment" (Hillman) and "embodiment." The path of the Boddhisattva... Often the four dreams of things that go downward.... the decent down the stairs, to the basement, to the valley.... down the ladder... the ski lift goes down the mountain. I think that this comes mostly from the fact that the four personality is formed through exposure to trauma. That trauma tends to push the four to dissociate early in life and often times upward into their heads...their intellect, their spirtual side. So they tend to be disembodied early and out of touch with their bodies. As teens they can feel a pull towards notions of purity and righteousness... religiosity. So the maturation process is coming to terms with their "clod of earth" ....their "hairy jiggly meatedness" ...always down, down, down in the earth, the body... the moistness. That's probably why so many fours become therapists as.they become more and more ensouled....the Chiron archetype is very active here....like Chiron in his cave..we are at home in the realms of suffering and helping others make meaning in their suffering.

This is so interesting as a 4 married to an 8. That anger was a huge point of tension early into our relationship but as we've been together almost a decade now, I see that anger isn't always anger for them. Anger is sadness, jealously, shame, etc. All the negative emotions look like anger. But with a tiny bit of digging/prodding, the true emotion comes out and he usually just needs a good cry/vent session and he's back to being a loving and loveable goofball. But boy, I tell ya the truth. Year 1-3, I just say him As an a**hole without reason.

It's amazing how many similarities we have. I started getting into Freud originally, I've been following Jung in terms of Shadow Work/Archetypes and just started diving into Enneagram. I've been struggling for a while and have been super hard on myself. Regardless of the time spent on inner work more still needs to be done. Now that I've been looking into Enneagram and Type 4 it makes complete sense what I do and why I do it. Thank you for taking the time to create all of this content.

Here's a bit of a conundrum... I'm a 4 ....probably equal wings at this point as i'm older now. But i've done so many years of inner work that i have very little inclination to try to convince anyone of anything... knowing that true wisdom is based upon so many years of introspection, suffering and varied life experiences. I don't pretend that i can ever truly share what i've learned with anyone and have it mean anything for them. At one point i would have fancied myself a poet or an author or a teacher or guide. Now i really don't know if where i've gotten to is any better than where i left (as John Lennon sang "I was the walrus, now I"m John") ... the four hates being normal. But here i am...just me. My therapist says it's a gift to "just be me" now...and not be building some fabulous identity based upon reactivity to outside stimuli. But is being normal any better than having a grand illusion of something else? Dunno. It was pretty exciting when i lived the blue pill... Turns out that the red pill is, well, it's a bit of a yawn.
