Wybot Battle! C1 or S2?

Here's a comparison review between the two new current models of the Wybot for the year. We have the Wybot C1 and the Wybot S2. Both very good cleaners, so pick the one that's right for you! In short, the Wybot C1 is the base model for the year. It is better for up to medium sized pools and it costs half the price of the S2. The M2 looks like the S2 but I'm curious as to how the "vision tech" cleaning works. Aside from that and an interchangeable battery which is cool and all, means you can just swap batteries when you want to run it back to back, there's a pretty big price difference so we'll see when it's released. As for the filter, if you can find it yes, can always replace it but I can't seem to find any at the moment.

    I just got the aquasense pro on the prime day sale with the extended warranty. But I’m also considering getting this. Have you tested the aquasense pro? If so how do they compare and which would you recommend?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid День тому

      Yes, I have reviewed the Aquasense Pro as well as the normal Aquasense. The Pro is great at being an all-in-one cleaner. That's where it shines. But the Aquasense Pro isn't great at any single feature. For example, it's not the best as just a standalone pool skimmer and not the best at just a standalone robotic cleaner. If you need both a robotic cleaner and surface skimmer in one and want the convenience of it being in just one machine AND you have the money to spend on it, then yes, the Aquasense Pro is worth it. But if you want to save some money, you could do a dual cleaner combo. A surface skimmer plus a robotic pool cleaner used at the same time. Something like the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro and the Betta SE Plus would work well for example, even better imo than the Aquasense Pro.

      Glad it's working out for you! And yes, there are times when I place the cleaner into the pool before bed and just wake up the next morning and it's totally fine. I think it's because it's a sonar type sensor and not a light sensor.

  • @briangaines.sandiego
    @briangaines.sandiego 3 дні тому

    If you run this in plug and play mode, when will it know when it’s done cleaning the pool? I have a free form pool (sort of a kidney bean shape). It seems to clean forever. Will it run until the battery goes out or know when it’s covered the surface? Also, when doing a waterline clean it went around the pool 3x before I stopped it manually.

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid 3 дні тому

      The cleaner has different preset run-times for different modes as a plug a play. On some modes it'll run 2 hours, on others 3 hours, etc. So essentially, on any mode, it can use UP TO the entire battery, but not on certain modes Once it finishes the mode, it should autopark itself on the edge of the floor near a wall. That's how you know it's done with it's cycle. And yes, it'll make laps around the pool until the preset time is up in all modes. It never finishes early based on pool size or anything, you just let it run a full cycle. You're always free to pull it out early with the hook but once it stops it should park itself. Hope that makes sense

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid 3 дні тому

      That makes sense since Seauto sells the cleaner itself to other companies which they brand it as their own. Those companies do however get to decide on which features are included. For instance, some have multiple cleaning modes out of the box and other brands do not, you have to use the app for it, etc. Although the cleaner works well, it's very confusing which one is which.

    The bottom center of the basket even has a circular holder that fits a three inch chlorine tab. It has "app control" and not a remote control. Maybe that's where the confusion is. Sounds similar but different. When I think remote control I think of a physical piece of plastic with buttons on it. The Aiper S1 Pro does NOT have a remote control. It does however, have App control. Which is an online app you download and connect to and by using it you get access to cleaning modes, battery indicator, and cleaning history. Water is not forced to go through, because it can flow arround filter from all sides. So what will water do? Will flow not through the filter, but arround, as it is less obstacle. The 3um filter engineering is absolutly shit and useless. It can not really work. The same result will be without the filter. All very fine particles are throughn away of hoower through nozzles. By the way it was also visible, clouds of fine particles went out of nozzles, when hoower sucked it from the floor. All other functions seems to be OK. For sure 3um filter is just empty marketing, or I received it incomplete inside the filters compartment.

    Hi David, thanks for the very informative reviews. I am in Spain and my home has a mediterranean pine forest in the back which when windy, which other than summer, is relatively frequent. This means lots of pine needles n my pool with lots of them around the edges. I notice the surfer slows down and avoids walls so I assume cleaning the pool edges is poor at best. Is that correct? In my case this would mean that cleaning might reach 80% tops. I would appreciate your thoughts. I just purchased a Wybot S2 to be delivered this week to take care of the bottom and walls. Pool is free form with several rounded areas. Kind regards from Spain.

      Hello! Yes, the skimmer does slow down and turn so the debris at the edge won't be sucked in, at least not unless there's some sort of circulation in the pool. If your return jets are on low and there is circulation in the pool it should be enough to push the debris away from the walls. There are times I watch the skimmer and think that it misses the walls completely but I walk away and come back a few hours later and the debris is all gone along the walls and sucked up.

      As a plug and play, turn on and use and take out cleaner, the Sonar 30 wins. The Scuba S1 and Wybot C1 have weekly timers, that's the real benefit of those two. But if you don't mind not having one, the Sonar 30 will work great!

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid 6 днів тому

      If the Sonar 50 had a weekly timer function to it, I would totally choose it over the Scuba S1. But since I prefer a weekly timer(yes, I'm lazy lol) I would choose the Scuba S1. But for you it may be different. If you don't mind charging and using it only when you want to, the Sonar 50 works better. Much more aggressive at cleaning overall.

    With the time scheduling feature, do you leave the vacuum in the pool for the week and just let it do its thing or do you take it out recharge and put it back in the pool but I guess that sort of defeats the scheduling if you have to be involved? How does that work?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid 6 днів тому

      You fully charge it first, then on the app you select the schedule you want. And from there you put it in the pool and leave it all week. It'll turn on based on how many times you selected and at the end of the week you take it out and charge it again, and repeat the same process every week. Hope that makes sense!

    Thanks for another good video. In my opinion, robot cleaners are for keeping your nearly clean pool crystal clear. If it's the beginning of the season and you've got a filthy pool, you should start with a manual clean. So here is my question - I have lots of palm trees around my pool, both mine and neighbours that shed small seeds now in mid summer. Also there's dust in the air which needs cleaning out every few days. You didn't show what the ultra fine filter picked up from your pool?? Your thoughts on the best robot for seeds and fine dust?? Cheers.

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid 7 днів тому

      I agree with you. And I'm glad someone else says this. Robotic cleaners are designed for MAINTENANCE, and maintenance of a pool that's in good shape. Some people expect these robots to be able to go from opening day(green/brown pool with ton of debris as example) to crystal clear in one go. Not even the most expensive high tech cleaner on the market can do that. It takes chemicals and hand vacuuming and multiple runs to get it in shape. For the filming of the S2, I had a surface skimmer in the pool which ran for hours at least before. It had been 105+ degree days for a week and no wind whatsoever. The pool was pretty much as clean as I could ask it to be before filming the S2. I apologize for not showing the debris, I think I looked at the basket and barely anything was there. I've used it everyday since then(has become my favorite cleaner, used in conjunction with a surface skimmer) and it picks up a various small debris. Small bugs, hair, and some sort of white dust I didn't even know I had.

      @imdefinitelydavid - Hi David. Thanks for the prompt reply. Glad you're happy with the S2 and it looks a good machine. I'm similar to yourself and like playing with different Pool Robots. I'm currently doing some experiments with what I class as budget cleaners. I've made a few modifications to get some quite surprising results. Regarding your white powder, if you use TriClor or DiClor tablets it could be those as they break up, even powdered Chlorine. I had a nasty Black Algae attack that I managed to clear up and I found a similar powder when I cleaned the pool after using tablets. I get annoyed at so many Cordless Robot videos that show fake results. They're selling on commission and its not good for the industry. I've seen a number of your videos and like your approach showing waterline cleaning as well as steps / ledges etc. Keep up the good work 👏

      I'm pretty sure there is just one motor in the Polaris but it's a big one and more powerful than other cleaners with 2 or more motors. Between the Sigma and the Polaris, I prefer the Polaris. It has an easier access debris basket and the navigation/movement seems a bit more advanced than the Sigma.

    I have the Betta, was great for the first month then it started going back-and-forth continuously nonstop I mean forward 2 feet then back to feet and repeat indefinitely. The other thing that I don’t like about this is every time it goes backwards it dumps out all the stuff from the basket. This is a design flaw.

    Thank you for all those comparisons. I’m considering the Wybot S2 Pro. Waiting on Prime Day to see if there’s a significant price drop before purchasing. However I haven’t seen in any testing in-ground pools with vinyl liners where if it harms the liner in someway ( scratches,tears or premature fading ) when it is cleaning the waterline. I would like your feedback if I’m picking up the right vacuum robot for my pool. It is a 18*36 foot vinyl pool with a 3 1/2 foot shallow that goes out 8ft long and inclines down to 7 1/2 foot deep end with the drain. Has a 5 1/2 * 6 foot flat bottom then has 4 1/2 foot incline walls to the ledge then 3 1/2 foot wall straight up to the top. Thanks

      The Freedom or the Wybot S2 Pro should work for your pool. Both clean the waterline well but not super aggressive like some other cleaners I've seen before. The waterline for your vinyl lined pool should be safe with either of those two. If I had to choose, I'd wait it out for the S2 Pro. Has many more extra features than the Freedom.

The S1 Pro had none of these issues. Go with the Pro the lasers on the corners make all the difference. Features we would like to see is return to ledge and a charging stand.

    Coming back to this one. I bought the Premier, and couldn't climb my walls (normal vinyl liner) at all, and really didn't seem "smart" in terms of navigation. I've seen the same complaint elsewhere. So I'd stay away, certainly if you have a vinyl liner.

    Great video, Sir. I purchased the S2, and I'm getting ready to put it into the pool for the 1st time. I was going to put it on what I'll call the everything mode and let it do its thing for a few hours. Do you think this is okay, or should I do the waterline, then walls then floor. The suggestion of removing the "Ultra Fine Filter" has me wondering if I should do these modes separately. 🤔🤷‍♂️

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid 11 днів тому

      If I use the cleaner once or twice a week I will most likely go into the All/everything mode. In the video, I like to show the different modes. I use the weekly timer more so than that mode though because I leave it in the pool for a week. If I want a deeper clean in areas, I'd switch it to the mode accordingly.

      @imdefinitelydavid Got it, Thank you. I'm looking forward to future videos on this model. So far, it has been going for 80 minutes. The only mistake I made was forgetting to set the pattern 🤦‍♂️. It is in the "Start Pattern." That's not a problem, I just can't figure out where it is going next. I have a 35K gallon (inground) pool, so I think it will go for another 45 minutes before finishing. My area has a lot of grasshoppers & spiders that end up on the bottom nightly. The vacuum has no problem picking them up. Thanks for the response, Sir.
