  • Here's a comparison review between the two new current models of the Wybot for the year. We have the Wybot C1 and the Wybot S2.
    Both very good cleaners, so pick the one that's right for you!
    In short, the Wybot C1 is the base model for the year. It is better for up to medium sized pools and it costs half the price of the S2. However, it does NOT include an ultra-fine filter option if you need it!
    The Wybot S2 is the higher end version of the C1, a more premium style cleaner with a few upgrades. It does cost more but where it shines is that it includes an ultra-fine filter option. If you NEED this filter option, the S2 is the way to go!

    For most pools, the C1 does the job.

    Thanks for another good video. In my opinion, robot cleaners are for keeping your nearly clean pool crystal clear.
    If it's the beginning of the season and you've got a filthy pool, you should start with a manual clean.
    So here is my question - I have lots of palm trees around my pool, both mine and neighbours that shed small seeds now in mid summer. Also there's dust in the air which needs cleaning out every few days.
    You didn't show what the ultra fine filter picked up from your pool??
    Your thoughts on the best robot for seeds and fine dust??
    Cheers.

      I agree with you. And I'm glad someone else says this.
      Robotic cleaners are designed for MAINTENANCE, and maintenance of a pool that's in good shape. Some people expect these robots to be able to go from opening day(green/brown pool with ton of debris as example) to crystal clear in one go. Not even the most expensive high tech cleaner on the market can do that. It takes chemicals and hand vacuuming and multiple runs to get it in shape.
      For the filming of the S2, I had a surface skimmer in the pool which ran for hours at least before. It had been 105+ degree days for a week and no wind whatsoever. The pool was pretty much as clean as I could ask it to be before filming the S2. I apologize for not showing the debris, I think I looked at the basket and barely anything was there.
      I've used it everyday since then(has become my favorite cleaner, used in conjunction with a surface skimmer) and it picks up a various small debris. Small bugs, hair, and some sort of white dust I didn't even know I had.

      @imdefinitelydavid - Hi David. Thanks for the prompt reply. Glad you're happy with the S2 and it looks a good machine.
      I'm similar to yourself and like playing with different Pool Robots. I'm currently doing some experiments with what I class as budget cleaners. I've made a few modifications to get some quite surprising results.
      Regarding your white powder, if you use TriClor or DiClor tablets it could be those as they break up, even powdered Chlorine.
      I had a nasty Black Algae attack that I managed to clear up and I found a similar powder when I cleaned the pool after using tablets.
      I get annoyed at so many Cordless Robot videos that show fake results. They're selling on commission and its not good for the industry.
      I've seen a number of your videos and like your approach showing waterline cleaning as well as steps / ledges etc.
      Keep up the good work 👏

    Great review! Thanks!
    Hi David, is the robot recommended to be charged 'indoors'? Also, any idea if the charger is water resistant, i.e. if it is charging outside and then it starts to rain, will the charger still work, or will it short out?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 місяці тому +1

      Thank you!
      They always recommend charging under a "covered" setting so I'm almost certain the charger is not waterproof. I know of some chargers that are magnetic/wireless that have one end that is waterproof but always, the other end that plugs into an ac outlet is not. I always either plug it inside somewhere like a garage or under a patio for sure.

    Thank you! Im still hesitating between the S2, the aiper S1 pro and the beatbot aquasens :(. Any help?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  2 місяці тому +1

      Out of the three of those, my pick would be the Wybot S2. It's literally what I have been using since I reviewed it. It's become my current favorite cleaner.
      The normal Aquasense is very overpriced for what it does, no extra filter or timer functions. If it was half the cost, it'd be the best standard plug and play cleaner I think. But price wise now, I would pass for the lack of features.
      Aiper Scuba S1 Pro is a good choice. It was my go to before the Wybot S2. If you get a ton of sand/dirt/ultra-fine debris then the S1 Pro has a better ultra-fine filter system, go for the S1 Pro. But if you don't get a ton of very small debris, the Wybot S2 is overall the better choice. Aiper dropped the ball here though by discontinuing the hydrocomm buoy, it takes away from potential features that could have been a game changer.
      The S2 is much lighter physically than the S1 Pro. Like, it's a noticeable difference in size and weight. Makes it much easier to move around.
      Take it one step further and look at the Wybot S2 Pro with charging dock. That might even be the way to go.

      @@imdefinitelydavid thank you David ! The Aiper is definitively overweight. I hope that there will be updates for the S2 to keep the improve. I'm not a fan of the charger in water, so the S2 would be find :)

    Seauto Crab Cordless vs WYBOT C1 Robotic Pool Cleaner which is better?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 місяці тому +1

      The Crab is better if you want a more aggressive climber and scrubber. If you have a lot of tall walls or dirty waterline issues. However, it doesn't have a weekly timer feature if you need it. I prefer cleaners with weekly timers, but others don't really need it.
      The C1 has a weekly timer function through the app and also cleans as well as the Crab, but just not as aggressive at it.

    So I just purchased a new home with a built in pool and I have been watching a bunch of videos on robotic cleaners and everyone has good things to say about different models. Let me ask, if you had to pick one out of all the models you tested and money was not an issue, do you have a favorite?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 місяці тому +4

      To be honest, at the time I'm writing this. My favorite cleaner to use is a combination of a skimmer and a robotic cleaner, so two at once. Even if money wasn't an issue.
      I have a Beatbot Aquasense Pro sitting in the garage that I paid 2k for that I have not used for months.
      I'd rather spend $1200 for my current setup, the Wybot S2 cleaner plus the Aiper Surfer S1 skimmer. My current favorite setup, at a fraction of the most expensive cleaners.

    • @paulattanasio3061
      @paulattanasio3061 4 місяці тому

      @@imdefinitelydavid OK, so if I didn't want to get a robotic skimmer and just wanted to clean the floor, sides and waterline, etc. what do you think about the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro over the Wybot S2?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 місяці тому

      Aiper S1 Pro feels more premium in design and it has has a better ultra-fine filter. So if you get a TON of small debris, like a lot of sand. The S1 Pro will be better.
      But aside from that, if you get a lot of ultra-fine debris but not a ton, the S2 still feels like a nice robot. But not as Premium in design as the S1 Pro.
      I've switched to the Wybot for now because of how lightweight it is. There's an 8 lb difference compared to the S1 Pro and it makes a difference lol

      @@imdefinitelydavid Its prime day. I bought a Betta Skimmer that keeps going in reverse for no reason and an Aiper S1 that was terrible with wheelies when opening to pool but after it gets clean its works great. I am going to return both and grab your preferred setup. Just want to be sure that the WYBOT s2 is better than the Aiper s1. Thanks

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 місяці тому

      The Wybot S2 is better than the Scuba S1 for sure. It does a better job navigating and much lighter than the Scuba S1 Pro version, if you're comparing that one too. It's my preferred robot cleaner right now to use with a skimmer.

    Any thoughts on the C1 Max?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 місяці тому

      C1 max looks like the normal C1 but designed for slightly bigger pools. For that price, if you have a big pool and DON'T need an upgraded filter, it's a good choice. Otherwise I would spend the extra money for the S2.
      Wybot does this quite often where they have sort of the base models and the higher end model. But then throughout the year they released multiple versions of the base model with slight differences and different prices. Making the choices go from 2 cleaners to 5 cleaners, etc with little difference in between

      Unfortunately not, they don't make an option for a different filter on the C1.
