      I agree that the fact is it does 3 separate things, worth the $$$ if it lasts for many years. I love how easy it is to clean basket. Excels at small debris that my previous robot was challenged to clean. I am disappointed the clarifying agent not included. I bought just to try, but will rarely use. The basket is my favorite feature, easy to clean. I also like no cord and fact it comes to surface when done cleaning. I have big pool and battery lasts long enough that I only need to put in pool a few times a week. Time will tell if price worth it. So far, I think yes. I want to see how it works over several years. My last robot, a maytronics quantum lasted 6 years heavy use throughout year as I live N. cal. I also agree, they should have surface only button.

    The surface skimmer is a surface push the debris arounder. It is cool in concept, but in actuality, it falls short of what it claims or does. I ordered a I think, Maytronic EX5i let's see if I am disappointed, it comes Wednesday, in 4 days, probable late, like 6

    I’ve been using the beatbot pro for the last two weeks. It does not filter dead algae. I have dead algae in my pool and the beatbod would just stir it up and mix it with the pool water. The next morning all algae are back on the bottom of my pool. There is an easy fix for this, BEATBOT, it’s called a finer filter!! They need to add a secondary filter for people that are trying to get dead algae out of their pool. For those of you that doesn’t know, Chlorine just bleach the algae in your pool so you can’t see it. When using an algaecide, it gets killed and to get it out, you need a filter that can remove it from the water. There are other problems too with the $2000 robotic cleaner. One of it is, if you select floor only on the bot, it will do the wall and the floor, a definite programing issue. It also does not do a good job cleaning the water surface. It makes a water wake that disturb the floating debris and pushing it out of the way. It also does not do narrow steps good at all. It climbs the step and then go backwards, falling off. Why it doesnt turn sideways when its on a step i dont understand. Anyway, I'm sending mine back.

    I think the issue is that the wifi signal can’t work underwater - hence no changing modes mid-run.

    How does this compare to something like the dolphin premier?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  3 місяці тому

      I'll always love the Premier. After years of use, it's still the only cleaner with multiple filter options. That leaf bag saves me a lot of time during Fall season.
      Cleaning and performance wise, both do well. The Aquasense is more advanced with the navigation system for sure. But the Premier cleans just as well.
      With the Pro, you're really paying for two things. One, a CORDLESS cleaner. And two, a cleaner that's also a surface pool skimmer. Paying for the convenience of two machines in one. Only one of it's kind at the moment and even though it's very expensive, because of that, still worth it if you have the money to spend imo.

    While the robot is under water, it cannot receive signal albeit Bluetooth or WI-FI. Water is not a good medium for the above mentioned signals. Now if the robot is a skimmer then it may receive Bluetooth signal.

    Disagree with order on pro mode, the skimming does not require suction. The last step should not require suction, which is affted by debris obstructing flow.

    The reason it can't change its mode mid run is because wifi and other wireless technologies can't communicate underwater without very specialized and expensive equipment.

    Great detail. Thanks for the review!
    A few things:
    You may want to think about how much you use the word "actually". For fun I counted and you said "actually" or "actual" 237 times during this video where you didn't need to use those words at all. You said it 5 times in one sentence LOL. No big deal but it's kind of distracting.
    Your cost analysis is flawed. A pool service doesn't just clean your pool. They add chemicals, test your water, clean the pool filter, and most services even clean your chlorine generator discs when needed. I'm not saying get a pool service but things the robot doesn't do should be taken into consideration when comparing costs.
    I really appreciate that you showed a few very important details, clearing the main drains, what happens when the machine encounters a bench/tanning shelf, and how it handles corners. I have no idea why most pool robot reviews say nothing about these important things. Good job covering those areas. This is the first video I've seen of a robot cleaning the wall and waterline above a bench. That is a huge justification for the higher price in my opinion because 60% of my pool walls have a bench.
    One question: It looked like the Aquasense turned the corner and then missed an area about a full width of the robot on the next wall after the turn. It that what happened or does the robot clean the wall up to the corner after making a turn?
    Thanks again for your review. I'm subscribing

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  4 місяці тому

      You are correct, sir! I do tend to use the word quite a bit. It just sort of comes naturally when I speak. If I was scripted and paid for a review, I might pay more attention to it, lol.
      Also, yes, I generalized the cost of a pool service. They do a lot more at the initial start of service than through it. It should be more of a maintenance cost I should say, to maintain a pool.
      If the wall you are speaking of is that corner with the top ledge in the video, yes, it avoided that spot completely on that run. When it actually cleans the wall it does quite a few runs around the wall during the cycle. So if it missed that spot in the video, more than likely it picked it up in another run during the cycle. Hope that makes sense!

    Great video! Thanks for the review. I was looking up other cordless cleaners, and I see that you reviewed the Polaris Freedom. With the current discount on the Aquasense Pro, it's about $500 more than the Polaris Freedom. Do you think the Aquasense is worth the extra $500? Thanks!

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  3 місяці тому

      The Polaris Freedom is a good cleaner but not worth it's own price tag! When it was released, it was the most expensive cleaner, being cordless and from a big name brand.
      Fast forward a few years later today, and it's still selling at the same price which is unfortunate. I think it's worth less now today than it was years ago at release.
      Now, there are a lot more cordless cleaners on the market and I value them based off of features for the price.
      Yes, the Aquasense Pro is a very, very expensive cleaner lol. But it's an All-In-One type of cleaner and very specific. If you want a robotic cleaner and skimmer in one, it works well for that reason. It has a lot more features than the Freedom does.
      Even the normal Aquasense cleaner(not Pro) is priced much better than the Freedom is as well. And it's a better cleaner imo. It has all the features of the Freedom but it's more advanced in it's tech and nav system.
      If the Freedom was priced below the 1k mark it'd be a different story. But price per feature wise, Beatbot is better. Either version, Pro version or normal.

      No, you don't have to push any extra buttons on the cleaner itself after selecting custom mode.
      The cleaner should be powered on already, connected to the app, and when you select custom all you have to do is place the physical cleaner into the pool. It'll sense water and in a few seconds it should start your custom mode.

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  2 місяці тому +1

      They did, apparently they did extensive research with an outsourced company that determined that "most pool owners prefer the floors first".
      Also, that since the cleaner returns water from the top of it while in the pool, it keeps the debris which is floating on the top surface and sinking down while the cleaner is on the floor, back up onto the surface until it switches to skimmer mode...
      Believe what you want lol

    I have a question for anyone who has the answer I have a dolphin M400 I have a fiberglass pool with a step ledge around the wall near the bottom. The robot starts up the ledge but never figures out how to go over it and continue up the wall and do the waterline. I’m assuming part of the problem is that it’s fiberglass so it’s extra slippery. Has anyone ran into this issue or anyone have a suggestion for a different pool robot? I noticed the beat bot aqua sense pro can skim the surface of the pool but I believe that’s when it’s running in different mode so I don’t know if it’s gonna help it climb my walls.

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  2 місяці тому

      The Premier is still hands-down one of my favorite cleaners. It did an amazing job years ago at release and today, it still does great.
      But, compared to these new cleaners like the Aquasense Pro, the Premier does seem a bit outdated. Not in terms of suction and power. But more so in terms of it's smart navigation system and optional features. There's a noticeable difference in how these new cleaners move about in the pool, it's just a lot better than the older smart navs like that in the Premier. Also having extra optional features like app control, smart parking, etc make it feel even older.
      But don't get me wrong. On those windy and leafy debris days, I will always reach for my Premier. The giant leaf bag is still the only cleaner with this option. And it's corded so I can run it over and over compared to new cordless cleaners. It's all really dependent on what you need for your specific pool really.
      There's still a ton of use for older cleaners as well.

      @imdefinitelydavid  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you!
      Unfortunately, there isn't a cordless robotic cleaner that will clean both the pool and hot tub together.
      There is a single cordless robotic cleaner that I know of that will clean the hot tub separately(Polaris Spabot) but I've never used it and it's pretty expensive for being a small separate cleaner for just a hot tub.
      But for the pool itself, cordless cleaners like the Aiper Scuba S1 and S1 Pro, Beatbot Aquasense and Pro, even the Seauto Crab or Smonet CR6 will climb steps and ledges well. It depends on what other features you'd like as well.

    • @laniestone6207

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  2 місяці тому

      You know what, that's actually a good question that I've never even thought to test out.
      I would say yes, like it wouldn't hurt the cleaner to put it in. But efficiency wise, I would think that it would take longer to do the job automatically with the robot than to use a manual hand vacuum like a Pool Blaster.

      Unfortunately this doesn't have a retrieval lift system/button to tell it to get out of the pool.
      It does, however, have an AutoPark system where after a full cleaning cycle it'll float to the surface and move to the closest wall and parks. But you have to wait till the end of the cleaning cycle(up to 3 hours) for it to do this, can't call it out.

      The Seal is great at cleaning fast on the spot. More of a great plug and play cleaner than anything else. However, it does miss more spots and doesn't do well with finer debris like lots of sand or silt.
      The Aquasense Pro is a more feature based cleaner. You have all sorts of modes, an online app, ultra-fine filter, etc that make it feel more like an "extra" premium cleaner.

      Maintaining a pool is easier than most owners think. Especially if the pool is already in good shape to begin with. A robot and just a little bit of chemicals goes a really long way for an already well maintained pool.
      And even if it was in terrible shape, like from going from a dirty green pool to crystal clear. After the first time you figure it out, it's a big sense of accomplishment, and you'll learn a lot. I felt that same way before I got rid of my service a decade ago. Good luck! 👍

      Welcome!
      If you want the most convenient all in one cleaner AND you are okay with spending the money on it, then yes, the Aquasense Pro is great. It excels at being the best all in one type of cleaner.
      However, if you want to spend a lot less AND you don't mind a little more work. A combination setup of a cordless cleaner plus an automatic skimmer would do just as good, I'd say even better actually because two cleaners would be moving at once. But it would mean two cleaners to put in/take out and empty as opposed to just one with the Aquasense Pro. It's really about if you want to pay more for that convenience. To some it's worth it, to others not so much.

      @@imdefinitelydavid I didn’t even consider having both! I am definitely open to that. I’ve been watching your videos this evening but if you had to pick 1 skimmer and 1 cordless cleaner would combo would you choose? Then I’ll make sure to watch your reviews!

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  2 місяці тому +1

      At the moment, my goto combination is the Aiper Surfer S1 skimmer and the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro.
      I did a similar review video on having a cordless robotic cleaner with an automatic skimmer but I used the normal Scuba S1 instead of the new S1 Pro. Both actually work really well together with any skimmer.
      I have a few different skimmers but choosing the Surfer at the moment because I like looking at the little battery indicator on the app. It's weird how paranoid I get and often I check the app to see the battery level lol. But if you don't need that, any other skimmer like the Betta SE Plus would work fine.
      I'm also choosing the Scuba S1 Pro right now because it has that ultra-fine filter system and weekly timer. It means I can leave the cleaner and skimmer in the pool at the same time and only need to check it once a week or so to charge the cleaner and to empty the debris. Also, love that I can switch the S1 Pro to focus on cleaning just the walls or waterline quickly. I do that once every other week or so just to scrub the walla.
      As cool as the Aquasense Pro is, it doesn't excel particularly at any ONE type of surface cleaning. It's not the best at cleaning the floors. It's not the best at skimming the surface. But again, it is the best(only option right now) at doing all of that in just one machine. A pure convenience type of cleaner. That's where it shines. Still a great choice.

Im leaning toward this and using the eco mode to maintain the pool weekly. What do you think? Great videos. Thank you.

      Both are great but the corded VRX IQ+ is the only one with a remote control. The benefit in this case is if you have harder to reach spots or missed areas, you can use it and manually control it to clean those spots or climb ledges. But this kinda requires more work on your behalf.
      But yes, in general the Aquasense Pro did reach the tanning ledge and climb the steps more often on its own than the IQ+ did. So if you want a more independent cleaner, the Pro wins here.

      I haven't tested it in a kidney shaped pool but the navigation system should be able to handle it just fine I think

    I bought mine and I’ve had it for a week and the battery is nowhere near nine hours. The best performance I’ve gotten is three hours.
    I’m on the fence about returning it if it continues to have inconsistent battery performance

    • @imdefinitelydavid

      Have you tried it for 9 hours total? Or do you mean run a cycle like Pro mode and that lasts 3.5 hours. It's made to run in TOTAL time for 9 hours. Meaning you can run pro mode twice before and even add in a floor or wall mode before needing to charge if that makes sense. Or you can run floor mode multiple times, totaling 9 hours, etc. It doesn't mean it'll run just one mode for 9 hours. It can be confusing there.

    How does this compare to the Maytronics Dolphin M600 ?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  3 місяці тому +1

      The M600 is the better robotic cleaner hands-down. Like it cleans better overall I think. And it's corded.
      But it's also different to compare since where the Aquasense Pro shines is in it being the only robotic cleaner that's also a surface pool skimmer. Also being cordless.

      I've been geared more towards cordless cleaners nowadays so I'm more likely to go with the Aquasense Pro than the vrx. That and, the Aquasense Pro is definitely more advanced with its navigation, it's smarter.

      @@imdefinitelydavid Thanks so much. We have a decent sized pool and a lot of trees surrounding the property. I have to vacuum often and its very time consuming. I dont mind skimming. Another worry is battery life. Can it skim and do the entire bottom?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  2 місяці тому

      If you get a lot of leaves like I do, the better option would be to get a combo cleaner kit of a solar skimmer and a cordless robotic cleaner. The Aquasense Pro isn't the best as being just a robotic cleaner or the best at being just a skimmer, but it's the best at being the most convenient.
      It won't keep up with all the leaves. The combo I recommend is something like the Betta SE Plus or Aiper Surfer skimmer along with a cordless cleaner like the Aiper Scuba S1 or S1 Pro. Both of those cleaners have weekly timers so you can charge it to full and leave it to run every other day for a week at a time.
      Also, the combination of cleaner and skimmer is less expensive if that helps.

  • @korykearney6497

    you mentioned others clean the floor bettter or clean the walls better but none do all the things this does. It is nice having an all in one but I don't need the clarifier and really don't need a skimmer, just walls and floor. Cordless would be a nice to have. In your opinion, what one does the best at simply cleaning floor and walls? Thanks for the review!

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  3 місяці тому +1

      You're welcome!
      For a cordless cleaner, that's great at floors and walls, my current favorite is that Aiper Scuba S1 Pro. It moves really well in my pool and it's priced well at the moment for all the features it has, including a weekly timer.
      If you're looking at a great value type of cordless, the Smonet CR6 is a good choice too. An aggressive wall cleaner here for the price but no weekly timer if you need it.

      @@imdefinitelydavid So I've done some looking into the Scuba S1 Pro, from the videos I've seen it looks good but then when I read some reviews on Aiper products I get a bit nervous about buying anything from them.. I know I mentioned wanting cordless but I'm curious what you recommend as best corded cleaner that does floor, wall, waterline, and handles stairs.. I've come across a few but they are mostly close to the $2K mark and I'd like to stay around the $1000 +/- mark.

    • @imdefinitelydavid

      Sounds like you're heading more towards a big name brand corded cleaner like Dolphin or Polaris.
      A good Dolphin corded cleaner that's very underrated is the Proteus DX4. One that's a big more expensive with wifi would be the Nautilus CC Pro.
      For Polaris, take a look at the Neo or 8550 Sport. They're also a good pair of Polaris cleaners under 1k that'll climb well.

    Can these do above ground pool?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  3 місяці тому

      It can, but it's way overkill for an above-ground pool. I mean, if you have the money to spend on it, go for it. It's got a ton of features including that skimmer function.
      But above-ground pools are usually much simpler to clean for robotic cleaners so you can generally use a much less expensive cleaner.

      The best cleaner for my pool may be different for your pool though so it's hard to say...

      I'm actually in touch with the marketing department from Beatbot so I will reach out and ask if possible.
      They contacted me after my Pro video and loved my honesty lol. So maybe I can get a normal version sent to review.
      I'm actually curious how it performs compared to the Pro version because for me, the Pro doesn't particularly stand out as the best standalone robotic pool cleaner or best standalone automatic skimmer when it's evaluated on its own. It is however, the best(only cleaner) with both features in one machine, I'll admit that.
      We'll see!

      Honestly the normal version is even more so overpriced than the Pro version lol. The Pro version is at least overpriced because it's both a robotic pool cleaner AND a pool surface skimmer in one. But the normal version is just an overpriced robotic pool cleaner I'd say.

      Will this device handle a larger sized pool? If not, do you have any recommendations?

      Yes! The Aquasense Pro can handle large pools fine. With that large rechargeable battery it can clean longer than other cleaners. It can also handle depths up to 9.8 feet so you should be 👍
