Cool
Do you breed them
I can’t stand people wearing masks
Where in California is this
Central Valley near Sacramento
The park is So beautiful .. hope they relocated . Please give an update on the farm and looking forward to seeing his new location .. and if so please do share the farm address . Would love to visit when we travel to Singapore next . Lots of love from India ❤️
I should follow up!!!
How much and spores are needed to grow seaweed?
This seaweed can be grown through vegetative propagation!!
I catch freshwater drums and i filet them. Very good
Leeches 😖😖😖😖
Soviet Execution style?
I'll take some if it's cheap! Otherwise just go fishing it.
Not toy gun
definitely not a toy!
In a decoupled system are there 2 different sump tanks, 1 from the plants and 1 from the fish, where the water is treated prior to being used in the opposite system?
Yes two separate sumps. Water from the RAS is sent to the hydroponic systems sump where its is usually modified (pH adjusted, additional nutrients) to benefit the plants. The fish system is topped off with new clean water.
👏🏾
Hello, we are a photovoltaic energy storage equipment company for fishery farming, after measuring the use of photovoltaic energy storage-related equipment, but also to reduce the electricity consumption of aquaculture by 60%, I don't know if there is a chance to cooperate.
How much seaweed did you eat Dr Jackson Gross ? Hope all is well, haven’t seen a video from you in a while.
I’ve been so busy!!! Hopefully, I will be back at it later this month. I still have so much content to get out. It’s just about bandwidth.
Oh yeah….quite a bit!!!
What do you do with the freshwater drum?
People eat them
Yep I catch them and filet them
Its illegal in California to hunt Abolone especially the giant Aboline.
All abalone!!!!
Seems like the fishes still squirming after getting shot
It’s not squirmy, it’s just involuntary muscle contraction. There is no movement afterwards.
indeed the best dissection of fish
The purest in me is concerned about the bleaching a chemicals from the styrofoam and polyvinyl chloride tubing
We don’t use styrofoam but as for pvc and other plastics…. Have you ever been on a farm? Plastic is everywhere.
There's also anti-gravitational pull that happens when a fish is at the bottom of a waterfall.
cool!
Hello, we made the extruder ourselves but it doesn’t work well, we have a question, do you have WhatsApp?
Great..i need it for my catfish hactry in nigeria
Thank you telling about fish body parts. I am doing my water, Animal studies, thank you for telling us.❤❤
동물복지는 지성을 가진 인간으로서 자연에대한 배려다 이는 곧 생명 존중이며 이러한 사상 속에 인권도 진정한 자유도 민주주의도 모두 포함되어있다~!!!
Og why u got a bat
Do you mean the shovel? When did I have a bat?
Im from Hasanuddin Universitiy, i thought that aquaculture is just for how to get profit, i forgot the basic that there is also conservation aquaculture, now i think UC is the best role model for its aquaculture major, especially sustainable aquaculture.
My question is, are mussels is safe for consumption? As we know that mussles are filter feeder and accumulate heavy metal in its meals, does its harmful for human isn't?
Depends where they are grown. If you’re near more urban area you likely will have more metals. Some mussels are grown in deep water versus one closer to shore near sediments. Mussels aren’t usually grown in sediments so I would suspect they would have lower levels versus other shellfish grown on bottom.
This video made 3 years ago and i just found your channel and this is what i need, your channel is talk about sub-tropic cultivant, could you make video about tropic cultivant please?
Well I don’t live in the tropics nor do we have that culture in CA. Is there something specific you’re looking for?
California supply 90% of total caviar in USA? What a great leading, hope Indonesia can culture and become supplier of caviar for shouth east asian to
As far as I’m aware there is china and Thailand for caviar production
Very good content
Superb🎉
My first video!!! Seems like forever ago!
Apakah penggunaan antibiotik diperbolehkan? Kenapa jika negara dunia ke 3 ingin melakukan import selalu ditolak dengan alasan penggunaan antibiotik?
Keep make video about aquaculture sir!!..., a faced difficulity to search channel which talk about aquaculture, keep spiritt🎉
I’m an independent grower doing similar aquaculture production of green freshwater filamentous algae, producing clean dried powdered Spirogyra and Cladophora and Oedogonium. My one-man low-input method yields about 1 lb powder per 1 hour of labor. The field appears to be wide open; problem is finding anyone else in the market/field to consult with.
Freshwater? Did you read the book Slime? I'm interested in a freshwater algae as the main protein for fish...
That’s interesting. Lots of different markets for freshwater algae.
@@ThisIsAquaculture I'd love to find a market. Any leads on who's buying?
@@zhuliu you definitely have to try market your product to vegan community. I am vegetarian looking for vegan fish sauce, and which then led me to find different types of seaweed to make that sea umami. I only find out now that it contains proteins too which is a super plus for vegans!
Currently taking an aquaculture course at UC Davis, this was a very interesting video
Those are largemouth
Why can't they breed in Singapore anymore?
Space requirements.
@@ThisIsAquaculture but they can move to different park in Singapore?
Disliked! Get a life and quit goofing around with oysters BUD!
Poor fish was pregnant
Female salmon have eggs while males have sperm. They come to hatchery where the humans spawn them and raise their embryos and feed them until they are big enough to return to the wild.
Thus is a total bullshit we raise them on farm they do the ultrasound thing but black caviar from tge wikd is world wide illegal even in Haoan and Russia
What is total bullshit? I’m not sure I understand your comment.

Granted biology differences, but are Prion Diseases a concern with Aquaculture? (In terms of using Spiking/Pithing and/pr Captive Bolt Guns)
Not that I am aware of.
Can chameleons be used in a hydroponic system to control pests.
I suppose so. Not sure chameleons care about aphids, thrips, or fungal gnats though. I think beneficial insects and plants would be a better option. But I do ❤️ chameleons. Especially Jackson’s Chameleons. 😁
Are there any concerns of microplastics being present in the fish that we rear for consumption due to the use of K1 and other plastic filter media?
We are concerned with plastics in general. I don’t think many plastics partition into muscle (fillet). Not saying they can’t through some cellular mechanisms or uptake through phagocytes cells just a low likelihood. Here is a recently published study. www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0269749123022352#appsec1
@@ThisIsAquaculture Thank you so much for the info and resource. I was worried that I might have to get rid of my K1 and the bunched up nets that I use as bio media, but as long as it doesn’t get into the fillet, I’m fine with it haha. This channel is the best in terms of information density, video production quality, and presentation.
This is so hardcore.. imagine this on a small cat or rabbit
Different tools are utilized for mammals. Usually penetrating bolt guns versus non penetrating as achieved here.
Why would you ever think of a cat? You sick weirdo.
Give him a donut bro
This is really cool!
