So we almost have the same parts, mine doesn’t say V5 but it’s not far off from yours. You went with the 2Mb eeprom and I have the 1Mb version. The only difference is I have not got around to soldering mine yet. Oh and the coils, what’s the rating on the coils you are using?

Bill of materials, table of contents, and datasheets are in video description. Version 2.5 and version 5 (it literally says version 5 on the board) are similar, one uses application 1 schematics from BGA427 datasheet, and the other uses application 2 schematics from BGA427. Application 2 schematics has more components and provides more amplification.

@codernov Great video - as always , i appreciate it. Is it possible to improve the 23 cm Band reception ? i've read in some comments, that one have to remove 70 cm Band-Filter(s), and replace transistor(s). I would love a video about that modification.

С утра посмотрел видео, понял, что звук в моей "квакуше" действительно раздражающий. Сгонял в магазин. 3 описанных в видео конденсатора обошлись мне в 31 рубль. 480 пФ не нашел, был 470. Перепаял, и понимаю, что действительно, сейчас прием не долбит мозг как дятел, когда хочется выключить. Звук стал приятней. Спасибо за туториал!

My experience pushed me to dual antenna configuration implementation with version 2 board. Audio amplifier pushed the audio noise to unusable level, in my opinion, and needed to be discarded. I am skeptical about any benefits RF LNA can bring except significantly decrease in the receiver dinamic range, increase the number of spurious reception channels, and noise level. Correct antenna matching networks are more important than additional gain.

I installed one of these in my uv-k5(99) but it seems to be out of frequency, not even a little, but I can confirm that it is defective or the crystal is bad. I haven't analyzed what the frequency problem is, it's almost 2 kHz difference.

I also got the board without the choke and capacitor. Can you write me the capacitor and choke values ​​so I can buy separately.

If you look closely to the right of the FM part were the capacitor was replaced. On the mod to the left of the oscillator it’s marked with an R and you can see they have a variable tuner resistor pod in place. Maybe to tune it better? But the simpleton instruction picture just says to put a jumper in that area.

@15:10 and the coax wire needs to be on the other side against the plastic or it will hit the ribbon cable. But I can’t say for sure my self yet, still waiting for this exact part and version of the mod that I ordered two days ago. I dont do many videos myself these days. But if you want some pics or videos just reach out to me and I’ll do some when I install this version.

If this is version 2.1 then what version is the one that has the antenna MHF IPX connector already on it? Unfortunately it doesn’t have a version printed on the board like yours. But that’s the one I ordered yesterday for dual antenna so I guess I’ll find out soon how it works.

Will any firmware still work with an M24M02 - I swapped it out and now have a blank screen ? 1 of 11 is in there at the moment ?

I would love to see the 2.5 Full install I know you think you will like to do full 3.0 but most of us now have the 2.5 and looking for full video.. Regards N3WER

I finally got the board and installed it in a new radio. I didn't change the capacitor or the supplied inductor - It's just for the FM broadcast FMI pin #6 of the new Si4732 radio chip and FM audio is too loud and distorted to listen to anyways. I didn't remove the capacitor and inductor that went to the old 8 pin FM chip input pin 6. The length of RF cable supplied is perfect without cutting it to have the antenna connector mounted on the chassis and then plugged into the circuit board. Overall, it was an easier install than the previous version boards.

Guys, does anyone use the 0.5HF cec? I have the si4732 board installed and apparently it works well, but in the normal VFO which shows up to 18mhz, the reception at 27mhz is almost nil, I can only hear 27mhz by switching to si4732. Is this normal the cec can't hear 27mhz? My radio is the uv-k5(99). Thanks

I dis my second install of the 2.1 board on a new radio. All the functions worked but there was no reception on HF. Checked all the connections, all looked good. I did some test by injection a signal into the front end and found that anywhere after to little RF amp (R25) I got good signal strength. I think the Rf amp may be bad. Could you offer an idea to confirm this with a test? It also looks like there should be voltage on the collector of R25 during receive but there is zero volts there. So I'm not sure what is causing signal to stop at input of the RF amp.

You should team up with one of these sites selling the components, that way you make make some coin off the sales. Side note... Do you have more mods videos in the future that we would need to order more components for? If so could I get that component list. I have like four orders in with AliExpress and they take forever to send the correct components. LOL
