Only just viewed your coaster videos as I’m new to woodworking. These are extremely helpful as you fully explain each step of the project. I’ll definitely be giving these a try, thank you.
Hullo young man, I am very impressed with the dowel part of the build. Is that a technical term new to woodworkers (belt it with a hammer) if so, you could say you gave it a right hammering. (Scottish sense of humour).
Hi Mahendra thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the videos. The back saw I use in this video is made by Spear & Jackson, it is a 12" tenon saw with 15TPI and part of their 'Predator' range. It's pretty good for a cheap disposable saw. I don't use disposable saws very often but I keep a couple around usually for when I'm working with salvaged material and I don't really want my more expensive saws coming face to face with a hidden nail! I'm not entirely sure why I ended up using this saw on this project, it must have been on my bench at the time - but it coped admirably for cutting the dowels and cross-cutting the base board.
@@adventuresint-shirtswoodwo3905 very kind of you to have replied and there's a lot of info you provided regarding the saw. I planning on buying one 😊. Thank you Sir😊

Thank you, I'm glad you found the video useful.
A most excellent alternative to using a lathe. Would love to see more of that stuff
Thanks Evelyn.
Very nice work!!! ....subbed!
Thank you!

I actually had to re-record that line as my first instinct was to use an even more, ahem 'technical' word instead of belt!
Enjoyed the coaster video and this stand too Sir! Is that a Stanley back saw with which you cut the dowels😊
