  • Why hello, hope you enjoyed this tour of our new fixer upper! We're pumped to start working on this place and breathing some fresh life into it. It's a very livable space with a few much needed updates, but it's perfect for us. We didn't want to have to gut every room, and lucky for us, this house has new flooring already. While the carpet in the living room will most likely go eventually, the tile throughout the house is great and will not need to be removed. Stay tuned for the next one!

Can’t wait to see how you’ll transform the house to your home.

Congratulations on your new adventure! Looking forward to seeing the unfolding as your home begins to reflect your taste and personality. Glad you where able to keep your chickens. I have barred rock hens and a roo. I just closed on 17 acres of forested mountain property in NM and putting my home for sale. I am seriously considering purchasing a Graceland 16 x 40 cabin for $15,000. Twenty percent down, and balance upon delivery. It’s a three month wait...so I’ll have plenty of time to put in a pier and beam foundation. This will be my first interior build.

Looking at the house I would urge you to remove the wall between the first room and the living room. This will definitely improve the amount of sunlight and breeze the entire home will get. Additionally, this will allow you to enjoy these spaces more.. Ad for the kitchen, it would be easy to remove all of the countertops and replace them with newer ones that still keep with the style that the house has.

Thanks for watching! There's not a ton of counter space in the kitchen so we are most likely going to go with new granite countertops for sure. As for the wall, we go back and forth on removing it, but there are definitely tradeoffs to be had. It would really open up the space by removing it, but it would also be nice to have a separate area to gather/play music. Haven't fully made the decision yet but we'll see. Have plenty of other things to do before we get to that point!

all fenced in? is it not fenced in? looked like it had chainlink all around....im sorry i am so burnt out on neighborhood living....but sound like at least you dont have an asshole HOA to deal with or city regulations against chickens either......assuming dogs dont bother the chickens. still watch out for hawks in neighborhoods too.

There is chain link, but after having built a wooden privacy fence at our previous home, it feels so exposed having a backyard that everyone can see right into. So, we'll be building a wooden fence soon! Very lucky to have no HOA. It's an investment and good family home for us, however I agree that I'd much rather have more distance between me and my neighbors. We'll be building a house on some land eventually, that's the goal anyways. Thanks for watching! Take it easy!

Doesn't look like that much to fix, mostly cosmetic.
