The water to your house or apartment just quit. Where do you get safe water? There's a natural disaster, and no one can buy nor find clean water. What do you give your family to drink?
You cannot live without water for more than a few days, so it's important to have reasonable answers to these questions. Water security requires a multifaceted approach, but I would not fail to have the Doulton filter I used in the video as part of it.

If viruses are a concern, Doulton won't get those out entirely, so you'll need another solution; but in temperate regions without nearby fecal or carrion contamination, you should be good. Another concern is harmful algal blooms - as far as I know, there's no easy way to filter those toxins out, but I'll post something if I find a reasonable solution. Basically, don't drink water from sources that have green scum all over its surface.
After discovering Berkey is more or less trash, I needed to find a replacement for filtering raw, wild water for emergencies, camping, and some types of travel. I found it! Doulton's Berkefeld (over a century old, this company) is the best gravity filter system I've found. I use their Ultra Sterasyl filter. That's an old Berkey canister gravity system in the video, I just popped a Doulton filter in it and stopped up the extra holes with rubber plugs.
I'll post another video ASAP explaining in detail why I chose Doulton, and I'll link here when I do. In the meantime, my drinking of muck hole water and thriving afterward speaks for itself : )

DoorDash $1000 for 150 deliveries in 90 days - NOT true!
You might want to consider the British Berkefield-Doulton Ultra Flouride ceramic filters, the only certified NSF 42/53/372/401 gravity water filters in the world. Btw, the company has been operating for over 200 yrs.
I tested how many gallons can filter water based on their instruction for the food color test for three years, and it's result was only 726 gallons against their number of 6000 gallons or three years. I complained to them but I could not get a proper answer. Even though I tried to buy the carbon replacement filter, it has always been out of stock but they recommend buying a ceramic filter. Also, I doubted the quality because I had had water stains. I am using filtration water at the grocery shop right now, which is much better. Don't buy it.
I remember around 2000 telling my friends that one day, wars would be fought over water-that it would become more valuable than gold. That time is approaching quickly. If you’re serious about ensuring your water is pure and uncontaminated, you’ll need a reliable solution like the MSR Guardian Gravity Water Purifier. It’s an investment at nearly $300 upfront, capable of filtering about 3,000 liters (around 800 gallons). However, replacing the filter element will set you back almost $200. It’s a steep price, but for peace of mind and safe water, it might be worth it.
Brother, thank you for making this video! Much love my friend.
Doulton Ultra sterasyl doesn't filter fluoride though. And then their Ultra Fluoride filter isn't nsf certified. are you just accepting the fluoride in this case? fair enough seems like there's no perfect way here just wanna know
I wish I did some more research before buying... I decided to Google why they can't be sold in CA (after seeing it on the box) and oh boy did I make a mistake. Turns out they were tested to NSF as part of a lawsuit and failed.
Mike Adams website is Natural News.
NSF 😂
Thank you for putting in the hard work. Trying to figure this all out is so hard. I’m still hunting .lol
Which to buy then ?Many thanks
Now I know why Berkey filters are getting so cheap on eBay... Thanks for the video.
What are your thoughts on the santevia? I’m interested in the glass one with the rocks at the bottom
Wait till you read about life straws products lmao!
Thank you for your evaluation. I felt suspicious of the Berkey claims. You confirmed my suspicions.
I was preparing to buy one but not now
So the same govt that told you to take the experimental safe jab... And that fluoride would not hurt you... Is now telling you not to use Berkey filters. I'll stick with berkey.
Thank you for your reporting on this matter, God bless you Robert.
I'm not sure where you are getting the information for the gallons rating but Allexapure clearly says on their website that their filters for use in their main water filtration system are rated for 200 gallons. This means that each of their filters should be able to filter 200 gallons of water before it begins to become less effective. I know your video was made a year ago so maybe they updated their website. I am not sure.

Ok I have the Alexa pure and just saw this video. What's am affordable but worthy water filter for the entire home but a small 2-3 person home. Not just for drinking because I need one for my shower and you get the idea
CORRECT!!!! My alexapure filter broke after three months!
ProOne/ ProPur ARE NSF Certified, my standard 9" filters filter over 1000 Gallons for us between changes, we change the Filters every 10 months, just because they are starting to filter slower. When you say the test sites tested to 200 gallons that is not the filter companies fault, that's just what the certification company tested to. Berkey Filters problem the Government found out was the Berkey Filters were Contaminated before they were even used with poisonous chemicals. NO Berkey Filters were tested by third parties they made their stats up themselves, that was their problem and why Berkey filters should not be used. We researched a lot of filter systems before purchasing and found Pro/Pur Pro/One to be the best. They are owned by Culligan now. Lot's of people I know run ProOne Filters in their Big Berkey containers and they say they can taste the difference for the better.
Glad I found this before I got one.
I bought a joy pur, on city water, before I had algae growing in my water jug. After joypur, no more algae.
Do you know anything about epic water filters?
Were you really using a Berkey just to remove chlorine? There are much cheaper (and even 0 cost) ways if you just need to remove chlorine from tap water.
Great to see you follow the example of some doctors to practice self testing. Good job you used Berkefeld/Doulton filters that are actually made in England to very strict British manufacturing standards. But you knew that:)
Great info. Most of the gravity type filter cans are OK and can use properly certified filters from British Berkefeld/ Doulton.
What a top bloke thank-you so much for putting in that effort !
You had the same experience with JMCC I did. I had my water tested a few months after I had the filters installed. There was almost *NO* decrease in arsenic and fluoride from my utility's stated content. JMCC's response? I must have tested when the water utility "flushed its pipes", his assertion being that every now and then the water supplier will flush all the chemicals they have filtered out into the distribution lines. Seriously? James also said that the filters can only filter out one contaminant effectively at a time. So, too much fluoride? Then less lead, arsenic, VOCs etc. will be removed. Where is _that_ in the literature?
Filters are interchangeable! I have a cheap vessel from Amazon with Waterdrop filters currently. I’ll replace with the British filters when the time comes. Thank you for all the research you did!!
Got a used one from s second hsnd store with genuine filters and the dubious add on flouride/atsnic filters. The results were that it greatly reduced organic compounds, removed bacteria, but metals not so mich. You can do a simple test by adding red food coloring to the water to see if it works properly. Sodium flouroscene, the yellow dye in highlighters also works for a quick test.
What are we meant to do, continue to drink dirty toxic water?
Do you trust these to filter tap water?
Literally just trusted a shot from a gator’s shithole…
What about The Water Machine that I have been seeing on fb?
Berkey is a scam. I have gone through 3 sets of filters in 3 years. All filters failed the red dye test after a year of use. The last email from berkey said I'm out of warranty and not their problem. Thank you for sharing your honest reviews of this scam product.
I’m sorry you had to suffer through Berkey. They are not good! Thank you for your comment!
the red dye test is almost as useless as TDS testing.
I have news for everyone: all purifiers don’t filter as long as they claim, and they don’t filter as much as you like. But then again your tap water is likelier shittier and you survive. The point is that these purifiers are still a good thing for prepper survival. I would buy not buy them for everyday use. It is futile to take contaminants out of tap water and still have a retirement savings. Short term survival is the only place where these costly so-so purifiers can help. And even then I would still boil it.
I have used my berkey for years. Always worked great. My 2 berkey elements worked for 3 years plus. I don't believe these NSF 3rd party lab BS.
These days you need to "test" everything yourself to not get ripped off.
I appreciate you sharing this information and calling them out. I distill my own water (add my own minerals, homemade "sole" from real salt) but have a zero water as back up if needed but wanted a bigger option that doesn't need electricity....guess I'm out of luck.
This information is so appreciated! I look forward to your video on why you chose the ones you did.
Thank you! my job keeps derailing video stuff, but I will post that video asap!
More bad news. There really isn't a tooth fairy. It was your parents in the middle of the night.
We got a Berkey water filter system and we couldn't compress the rubber washer because the plastic nut would slip over the threads before the nut could be tightened. So we had to use it with the nut loose. We did the dye test and we always had dye coming through. We called Berkey and the girl said she thought the filter had "broken through." Don't filters plug up? Shouldn't a gravity system like this be able to withstand the pressure of a few inches of water column? I also complained about the loose nuts so Berkey sent me loose nuts to replace the other loose nuts. I really think they are a totally crap company. However, if your water is already safe to drink, you can always run through your Berkey and it's probably still safe to drink!
prooneusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/ProMax_Counter_UnderCounter.pdf is this not a valid Laboratory Test from Enviroteck? Thanks for the video!
I thought Berkey is Berkefeld
Berkey was one of Berkefeld’s distributors back in the day, but Berkey decided to peel off and do their own thing. And their own thing was to lower quality
Hey, thank for your videos I was ending up having the same conclusions about Berkey and most other brands Looking forward to watch your next videos, esp. why you recommend Doulton and AquaTru. What do you think of the Boroux brand?
Thanks! I think I’ll have my “why Doulton/Berkefeld” vid out in a couple of weeks. Aquatru might not be until later in the summer. Hard to say exactly with Boroux, but my best guess is it’s as undesirable as Berkey.
@@Robert-Beaty Thanks for the quick response! Did you go to the nsf website and filter companies by nsf certifications? I found the eSpring brand to be actually certified for some chemicals (lead, PFOAS, etc.) for 1320 gallons
Yes, I’ve looked at many of the filters that have official NSF certs. Can’t remember which, but one of my vid descriptions lists how to find official NSF certs. As for which water filter is best among all of the NSF certified ones, that’s a tough call that has take into account cost upfront and to maintain, contaminants you want to remove, where and when the filter will be used. There are lots and lots of good filters, but finding one that hits the sweet spot in the middle is tough and it’s a best guess on my part.
