Good grief. I am on SS. I also have severe food allergies so unable to eat most foods. Not exaggerating -- most foods and certainly nothing processed. I saved for the better part of a year for my travel Berkey. I wanted to insure that my drinking and cooking water was as clean as possible and was especially concerned with glyphosates and pesticides, heavy metals, plastics, etc. My immune system is fragile and I go to great lengths to try to avoid as many toxins as possible. Now I'm seeing these disturbing videos that makes me doubt my choice of water filtering system. Suffice it to say I'm a lot more than upset about this and am monitoring this very closely. Thank you for sharing. I wanted a system made in America not ASSEMBLED in America. I wanted a system that would remove toxins from my water so I can stay out of the hospital or morgue. I don't mind paying a high price for that and saving for months but if my purchase was bogus based on lying or omissions, guess it's just my problem. I'm really pissed right now. 😠 😡 😤

@@Coconutoilcrazy Yes. I have had my Berkey almost a year. I am using it because I travel full-time in my truck camper and the water sources vary depending on where I'm staying. Right now I'm having to stay near my chiropractor as for the last eight months I'm experiencing peripheral neuropathy in my left foot and both thumbs. Can't pin that on Berkey because even though I've never experienced this before it's very hard to pin down the actual cause. Also, and hope I'm not wrong, I'm assuming that drinking the filtered water has to be somewhat better than unfiltered. I am not diabetic or pre-diabetic so it's not that. I'm not overweight and I exercise and hike regularly despite the pain in my foot. Maybe this would have occurred regardless. I'll just feel better once I can replace the Berkey filters with ceramic ones from a company that can backup their claims. Other videos have claimed that filters from other companies fit the Berkey. It would cost less to keep the container and replace the filters. Wishing you all the best.

@@rouxchat6033 I agree filtered water is better than non filtered. This may seem odd , here it goes. The pain you have. Poke around your body/muscles. I had alot of lower back pain, sometimes in my feet, other times hands, shoulders etc. One day, I found a huge knot in the muscle of my left butt cheek. It hurt like no other but I used my fist to relieve it. I was shocked when I got that to release, the other pains I was feeling faded. The knot area was very sore but the knot was gone. I still have issues with these knots but I know how to address them when they start

I'm slowly improving and following his advice to the T. Was very fortunate to find him. The most damaging thing I found was that the IAPMO the same NSF backed lab that certified other popular water filters actually has a listing for Berkey filter...but only for the hardware, to show that they don't leech lead or contaminate the water themselves. They received no other certification as other filters have. So the question is did they only apply for that certification or did they attempt to get full certification and fail?

@@whatever833 I went with Berkey based on friends (4 different friends) that have used one for years and the fact that Berkey has been around for so many years. Of course, all that is meaningless now. I personally have zero knowledge of how to test myself unless it is to test two samples, one sample before filtration and one sample after, at $45 each. More money. I had to have a well tested where I was renting due to becoming very ill and was told it was from drinking impure water. The test came back positive but the landlord refused to treat the well. Therefore, I moved. I'm exhausted over such things. Pure drinking water is a basic life requirement.

@@rouxchat6033 That's why it's important that we use products that are at the very least certified. Most of us don't have the ability to do thorough testing ourselves. Not sure what test you found for $45 but it depends on what you are trying to test for. I just got my test results from the lab i sent my tap-water off to and it was $250 for a fairly comprehensive test. Before and after test is the best way to be sure but I've picked one I trust that is certified and has been tested by others (comprehensive testing) so I won't be doing an after test myself but I wanted to finally know what exactly is in my water. And glad I did turns out my water isn't all that bad but there are some things that I have to decide if i want to mitigate for longterm by using my filter or drink the tap water as I have been.

@@whatever833 It was testing done through the county and being on SS was to me expensive. The testing you had done is really expensive and beyond my means. If a company makes claims, it should be able to back them up. Why should consumers have to pay for testing to know that the product isn't bogus. Yet in today's world seems we do. This sort of thing has always gone on but seems to be an epidemic of companies caught lying and cheating and harming the public. Companies have infiltrated watchdog agencies that supposedly are in place to protect us. I don't know except it's all frustrating. Whatever. I'm interested in how the lawsuit goes. It’s assembled in America. Keep digging. You’re doing a great job. It does make me think that there is no way to get clean water without energy from the water pressure for reverse osmosis, and electricity for the uv or you literally have to use a pristine natural spring or rain water. I think the latter is the more accessible option for most people.

You were so eye-opening with your videos. That is how I found you. I have a Berkey I bought a little over a year ago 3.25 gallons. I am the only one using it. Recently retired and because of their claims, I thought it was an affordable way to get my water. Two of the four filters have failed. I called Berkey but did not end up having them replaced. I felt even if I had gotten a partial rebate toward other filters. How reliable would they be. I kept using my Berkey and found it leak again and felt the red dye test. At that point I just said forget it. I have to come across your videos. I recently started buying the reverse osmosis water from my local water store. The Berkey water never tasted that great to me and reverse osmosis water always tasted so good. $.45 a gallon but I feel like I’m at least getting decent water. I’m hoping Berkey gets sued up one side and down the other and that those of us who bought these units can get reimbursed. I do hope that you find a filter that is decent and honest about filtering water that we can try with our Berkey. If you find some thing you’ll let us now until then I use the reverse osmosis water from my local water store. They do add some minerals back in.
