I spent extra money for the berkey flouride filters and you best believe I want my money back if they don't work. I'm sick and tired of all these money, money, money businesses. At 71 I've never seen such hatred for people by those who supposedly want to make our lives better.
@@007bird and many other chemicals that Berkey cannot remove, in my area I have 6 dangerous chemicals in our water that Berkey is only able to remove 1 out of those 6… no where good enough , I have to have Reverse osmosis and even then RO won’t take out one of those, it would take a full house filter to take out one of the chemicals out of the six.

Fluoride has not damaged his brain. Fluoride is a neurotoxin and it affects peoples ability to use COMMON SENSE and LOGIC. It is a neurotoxin (brain toxin) The more water you drink, beverages you drink, food you cook with it, dentist visits....depends on the amount of fluoride you consume.
I made a water distiller out of an old pressure cooker and copper tubing. No filter in the world is going to perform as well as distillation. I also have an electric distiller that we use on the daily, but the homemade version will come in handy in a survival situation.
@@karendaniels862 Not sure. We have over 200 acres and a tornado that ripped through here about 2 years ago left us with more firewood than we can burn in a lifetime. Can't always rely on the sun, either. Nothing is 100 percent, but the fact remains...no filter will do what a distiller will do.

Absolutely. I stated on LDS prepper's channel that all Berkey had to do to make this go away is test the filters to the stated capacity and release the results. It's not that hard. David's video is laced with nothing but emotion. Look, not to besmirch the LDS, but they don't believe the same gospel or even the same Bible that most Christians believe. Seems a little narcissistic to say he's "saving lives" by telling people to use Berkey.

Then I compared what's left after a full stop of the distiller: tap water leftover had beige particles in it and it smelled gross, very chemical. Berkey leftover had a little less of the beige particles and the smell was almost gone (it was still there but it was faint). I was not impressed by how much stuff I had left from Berkey. I documented everything (have pics and videos) but when I tried to pt it all together in one video I wasn't able to - it did not accept stills and I don't now how to add short movies into one video.

I bought my Berkey before I knew this. I appreciate you bringing this up. I found you from The Texas Boys. I myself, I know there’s more like me, don’t have money to just throw away!! These ARE NOT CHEAP!! Many people do not have either the means or Know-how to do this in depth research. I “thought” I did my research reading the info from Berkey. I’ve got more SHTF portable filtration systems. The biggest issue here is the saying truth in advertising is a JOKE. As if I didn’t NOT trust Government and companies enough I truly don’t now! I got rid of my Berkey mainly because of the rubber taste it gave and the hassle knowing when the filters need replacing and how slow it is. I got an AquaTru (which is third party tested to NSF standards) and am very happy with it.
I saw some convincing info on much less expensive pitcher filters under 30 bucks. The guy used a large collection of them and sent water he filtered through each from one bucket full of tap water for testing. The Waterdrop pitcher removed even the fluoride. I`m on SSI with no transportation in a very rural secluded area far from stores. I have to drink a lot of water or I get kidney infections. The water here is truly gag inducing. But I can`t afford to keep buying bottled water. After my last electric bill shocker I don`t think using the electric distiller I got for water is a great idea unless I use it with my solar which isn`t completed in a safe way for daily use yet. So I`m trying the pitcher next month. It claims it can do 200 gallons. I suppose that`s the least expensive route I can take right now. Taste test will tell I guess.

A few people got upset when all I said was "there seems to be some sort of Berkey cult".This LDS guy is a perfect example,as are several people and customers I noticed had berkeys.I mentioned what's going on and that they might want to get their water tested,especially those using the water to make formula for little babies.I came under attack simply for advising them of this issue.i am appalled at how human behavior has become lately.In this case,they will defend a product to the end that they themselves didn't even test.If I were using a product,you noticed it and informed me there's controversy about the product, I would thank you immensely and research it,especially if I was giving it to kids,seniors or pets. Pattianne, you're being reasonable. We can no longer expect everyone else to be reasonable as well, now can we?😒 Maybe it's in the water they've been drinking their whole lives. Maybe the food, vax, chemtrails. I believe it's all of the above. If a doctor puts you on anti-anxiety meds and you miss a couple days, your body responds very negatively. I'm not knowledgeable about every med used for that purpose, but absolutely believe they're spraying and withholding types from the skies.

That's right, if they stand behind their claims they would at minimum obtain the 3rd party certification. Berkey/Millenium can certainly afford 3rd party trusted testing/certification with as expensive as Berkeys are. Without the 3rd party certification the company seems sheisty snake oil sales people. Mama always says 'trust' AND 'verify'. I believe in certification verification that backs up claims.
I'm upset that I wasted a heck of a lot of money on a Berkey system, but I thank you for your honesty and links to back it up. I've done more research, and you are certainly not alone in revealing the Berkey fraud. It's amazing that so many people have their income tied to this product, but this is not the first time in the history of the United States that this has happened.

I was thinking the same thing. I know of a couple of "preppers" who suggest them too. I now wonder if they've got skin in the game🙁😒 I'll be on the lookout as well. After Robert's third video, I thought about bringing it up on one guy's channel, but decided to wait for the court's decision. The longer I live the more I understand the depth of the statement "buyer beware". We all think that because we wouldn't attack, lie and steal posing as a person trying to help others that nobody would... But, sadly, we must research our purchases as though we presume every claim is false and every salesman a liar.
I've commented on his videos and traded a few responses and he is deifinitely in favor of hyperbole and dramatic talk when it comes to defending his beloved Berkey. He makes it sound like water filtration is life or death. People drink the same water we're all filtering straight from the source everyday and they are fine. I pointed it out in my inital response to his video. No one should be listening to or taking advice from anyone who makes money off the thing they are touting. He is not and can not be an unbiased perspective on this matter. I don't know him personally as none of us do but this appears to me at least to be clearly a salesman trying to protect his meal-ticket.
Curious what you can find out about Hydroblu (particularly their Jerry Can setup). They offer a package with a "virus" filter. I know it's not really an everyday filter setup, but I'm not a researcher. Would love to know what you find out.
I’m a water scientist and fell for the Berkey. We did notice our water tasted better and felt softer in our mouths, even the kids noticed - initially. I searched Amazon for whole-house carbon block filters. Turns out a Berkey Black appears to be a modified design inspired by inline whole house filters - which isn’t a bad thing. As for the filter testing and certification, I’d be more interested in the EPA rating. Just like professional organizations that certify skilled ASCE mechanics, or a GISP geographic information systems professional certification, there’s money involved to obtain one. I don’t have either of these certificates (that one must pay for) but I have rebuilt the engine in my Porsche 928 and I teach GIS classes. Companies like testing certifications because they communicate to customers that they are good quality, but that doesn’t mean others without are not good. Certifications become a marketing requirement. Also, I’m sure there are poor ASCE mechanics and I personally know less skilled GIS pros with GISP certifications. Credential requirements and those seeking them are easily corrupted. UL and NSF are not government agencies. They are for profit certifications. Initially, I thought NSF stood for National Science Foundation. So I think the Berkey improves the taste of our already clean well-derived town water supply (I read the test reports) - and because the Berkey is hard to miss and the water tastes good, we drink more water! PS: anything made by 3M is excellent.

Have you tested the Epicwater pour through filter? Very curious. I can't find a parent company to it, and not sure if it's a stand alone being honest with their data or if a dba of Brita, Zero, etc....
Greetings from New Zealand. I watch a variety of prepper channels, and LDS Prepper shows up on all of them. The strawman and ad hominen attacks he used on you are pretty much the entirety of his repitoire. He seems to spend most of his time running around attacking people in the comments of the various channels. He's gone after me a couple times too. He's like a spoiled 3 year old running around screaming "I'm right you're wrong! I'm right you're wrong!" So take heart, you are just one of thousands of people he has thrown a tantrum at. Your information is very interesting, and I look forward to hearing more as you delve further. I know UA-cam tells content creators to try to limit their videos to around 5 mins, but that is mostly to cater to Gen Z (appropriate letter designation, Z for zombie, that is about the limit of their attention span). But realistically, most people who would be watching these videos watch a lot of prepper and DIY videos, which often run between 25 mins and just over an hour. So don't be afraid to take the time you need to get your message across. Your videos are great, and you do yourself credit with your research, and linking people to it. What is your conclusion on the water filters that actually work that fit into the black Berkey Water filler spot in the Berkey? We just bought a Berkey and I'm thinking maybe if it's got a guarantee maybe we should return the Berkey we also have a zero water filter not sure if it makes as many gallons as it claims but it will test out to zero where refrigerator water or sink water does not I have yet to test the Berkey water

The authorized dealer I bought my Berkey 3.25 gal. from also sent me an extra set of filters. The dealer actually sent the Berkey to me in California the which is not allowed. They said that they were going to stop being an authorized dealer and he didn’t care if they send it to me. I tested my filters at about seven months. I had one of my four filters fail the red dye test. Later I noticed a second filter failed the red dye test. I did call Berkey and they said that the company I purchased from was an authorized dealer. They said I could send a copy of my receipt and purchase prorated filters. I decided not to and continued using the two that were still good. I didn’t want to put money out I couldn’t afford on new filters. How many people has this affected especially if the Berkey’s are not doing what they claim to do. I really hope this lawsuit goes through. I just feel like I’m out so much money. I highly doubt that Berkey would’ve reimbursed me for the two bad filters. Please let us know when you find a countertop system that works well. I’m new to your channel. I have watched most of the videos you just came out with regarding Berkey. I thought I would be saving money because why else would I put out so much money. This is affected so many people. Thank you for your suggestions for other filters in this video. I am still a little on the fence about Berkey, but I did just order some additional Seychelle Water filters that I use for day to day to put in my emergency supplies.
The need to filter municipal "tap" water is dubious at best. If people were dying from drinking unfiltered tap water I think we'd have bigger problems to deal with. If municipal water supplies become unreliable or non-existent we would have to resort to natural water sources. Rain catchment, rivers, lakes, ponds, etc. Boiling is pretty much the universally accepted method of making sure water from these sources is safe for consumption. The water filter industry has capitalized on the prepper community and made pretty good bank using sensational scare tactics. I'm 52 years old and have been drinking plain old tap water my whole life and guess what? I'm still alive and very healthy. Water filter systems are a scam. Berkey included.

Question is, the one tested for the court case...the one that stopped after 100 gallons...were those true Berkey filters? My guess is that it was otherwise it wouldn't have been allowed as evidence. Am I remembering that correctly from one of the last videos?
Doesn't a reverse osmosis take out all of the minerals in the water? If they do is it necessary to supplement with certain mineral? I'm just trying to get informed there is so much out there!

I would like to hear what is your opinion and maybe during your search came across some data what prove or deny the results. Alexapure I know has done its job though. As a consumer of Nascent Iodine I would feel in my thyroid whenever I consume any halogen besides Iodine. With Alexapure I wouldn't feel any trickling in my thyroid till afte ra year and a half, then I would get a new filter. However, I have received faulty filters from them and had to get a replacement 3 times in the same order.
This “battle” is so personal, emotional, passionate and not factual that it’s a pure waste of time. I’ve watched both videos and I have no clue if I should buy a Berkey or not. Please join forces and seek factual truth together! Or at least calm down and be more objective before talking. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints as well. I hope you don’t think bad about our church just because of one person’s comments to you. He doesn’t represent all of us. We do value emergency preparedness as a church but we also believe strongly in not attacking others and treating them with respect. I have a Berkey. Did not like the taste. Had RO for years but the plumber said it was going to leak so it was disconnected and got the Berkey. An odd smell and taste. Got some 90.10 water bottles, expensive and all 4 have rust arount the necks! But the taste ftom Berkey is better. Still looking for a water filter but kitchen needs work so need a countertop filtration system. Am going to try enviromagnetics soon. Need to get them installed...magnets on pipes.

I just unsubscribed from LDSPrepper's channel. It's a shame he felt threatened by your research and attacked you as he did. He sells Berkey merchandise and has stood behind Berkey for quite some time. Partially due to his endorsement I purchased a Berkey water filter and found it didn't improve the taste of our Southern California water, which indicates to me it isn't filtering as claimed. We should support each other in truth.

Fluoride has not damaged his brain. Fluoride is a neurotoxin and it affects peoples ability to use COMMON SENSE and LOGIC. It is a neurotoxin (brain toxin) The more water you drink, beverages you drink, food you cook with it, dentist visits....depends on the amount of fluoride you consume.
I made a water distiller out of an old pressure cooker and copper tubing. No filter in the world is going to perform as well as distillation. I also have an electric distiller that we use on the daily, but the homemade version will come in handy in a survival situation.

The brand loyalty is awkward. People kept making claims that you and we were selling an opposing brand. Lots of hyperbole and zero facts.

Absolutely. I stated on LDS prepper's channel that all Berkey had to do to make this go away is test the filters to the stated capacity and release the results. It's not that hard. I bought my Berkey before I knew this. I appreciate you bringing this up. I found you from The Texas Boys. I myself, I know there’s more like me, don’t have money to just throw away!! These ARE NOT CHEAP!! Many people do not have either the means or Know-how to do this in depth research. I “thought” I did my research reading the info from Berkey. I’ve got more SHTF portable filtration systems. The biggest issue here is the saying truth in advertising is a JOKE. As if I didn’t NOT trust Government and companies enough I truly don’t now! I got rid of my Berkey mainly because of the rubber taste it gave and the hassle knowing when the filters need replacing and how slow it is. I got an AquaTru (which is third party tested to NSF standards) and am very happy with it.
I saw some convincing info on much less expensive pitcher filters under 30 bucks. The guy used a large collection of them and sent water he filtered through each from one bucket full of tap water for testing. The Waterdrop pitcher removed even the fluoride. I`m on SSI with no transportation in a very rural secluded area far from stores. I have to drink a lot of water or I get kidney infections. The water here is truly gag inducing. But I can`t afford to keep buying bottled water. After my last electric bill shocker I don`t think using the electric distiller I got for water is a great idea unless I use it with my solar which isn`t completed in a safe way for daily use yet. So I`m trying the pitcher next month. It claims it can do 200 gallons. I suppose that`s the least expensive route I can take right now. Taste test will tell I guess.

A few people got upset when all I said was "there seems to be some sort of Berkey cult".This LDS guy is a perfect example,as are several people and customers I noticed had berkeys.I mentioned what's going on and that they might want to get their water tested,especially those using the water to make formula for little babies.I came under attack simply for advising them of this issue.i am appalled at how human behavior has become lately.In this case,they will defend a product to the end that they themselves didn't even test.If I were using a product,you noticed it and informed me there's controversy about the product, I would thank you immensely and research it,especially if I was giving it to kids,seniors or pets. There is only one reason Berkey will not get proper NSF certification, they won't pass!
That's right, if they stand behind their claims they would at minimum obtain the 3rd party certification. Berkey/Millenium can certainly afford 3rd party trusted testing/certification with as expensive as Berkeys are. Without the 3rd party certification the company seems sheisty snake oil sales people. Mama always says 'trust' AND 'verify'. I believe in certification verification that backs up claims.
I'm upset that I wasted a heck of a lot of money on a Berkey system, but I thank you for your honesty and links to back it up. I've done more research, and you are certainly not alone in revealing the Berkey fraud. It's amazing that so many people have their income tied to this product, but this is not the first time in the history of the United States that this has happened.

I've commented on his videos and traded a few responses and he is deifinitely in favor of hyperbole and dramatic talk when it comes to defending his beloved Berkey. He makes it sound like water filtration is life or death. People drink the same water we're all filtering straight from the source everyday and they are fine. I pointed it out in my inital response to his video. No one should be listening to or taking advice from anyone who makes money off the thing they are touting. He is not and can not be an unbiased perspective on this matter. I don't know him personally as none of us do but this appears to me at least to be clearly a salesman trying to protect his meal-ticket.

Curious what you can find out about Hydroblu (particularly their Jerry Can setup). They offer a package with a "virus" filter. I know it's not really an everyday filter setup, but I'm not a researcher. Would love to know what you find out.
I’m a water scientist and fell for the Berkey. We did notice our water tasted better and felt softer in our mouths, even the kids noticed - initially. I searched Amazon for whole-house carbon block filters. Turns out a Berkey Black appears to be a modified design inspired by inline whole house filters - which isn’t a bad thing. As for the filter testing and certification, I’d be more interested in the EPA rating. Just like professional organizations that certify skilled ASCE mechanics, or a GISP geographic information systems professional certification, there’s money involved to obtain one. I don’t have either of these certificates (that one must pay for) but I have rebuilt the engine in my Porsche 928 and I teach GIS classes. Companies like testing certifications because they communicate to customers that they are good quality, but that doesn’t mean others without are not good. Certifications become a marketing requirement. Also, I’m sure there are poor ASCE mechanics and I personally know less skilled GIS pros with GISP certifications. Credential requirements and those seeking them are easily corrupted. UL and NSF are not government agencies. They are for profit certifications. Initially, I thought NSF stood for National Science Foundation. So I think the Berkey improves the taste of our already clean well-derived town water supply (I read the test reports) - and because the Berkey is hard to miss and the water tastes good, we drink more water!
PS: anything made by 3M is excellent.

Have you tested the Epicwater pour through filter? Very curious. I can't find a parent company to it, and not sure if it's a stand alone being honest with their data or if a dba of Brita, Zero, etc....
Greetings from New Zealand. I watch a variety of prepper channels, and LDS Prepper shows up on all of them. The strawman and ad hominen attacks he used on you are pretty much the entirety of his repitoire. He seems to spend most of his time running around attacking people in the comments of the various channels. He's gone after me a couple times too. He's like a spoiled 3 year old running around screaming "I'm right you're wrong! I'm right you're wrong!" So take heart, you are just one of thousands of people he has thrown a tantrum at.

I know UA-cam tells content creators to try to limit their videos to around 5 mins, but that is mostly to cater to Gen Z (appropriate letter designation, Z for zombie, that is about the limit of their attention span). But realistically, most people who would be watching these videos watch a lot of prepper and DIY videos, which often run between 25 mins and just over an hour. So don't be afraid to take the time you need to get your message across. Your videos are great, and you do yourself credit with your research, and linking people to it.

Have you looked at Aquacera filters or Doulton? They fit Berkey and are Third party tested.
What is your conclusion on the water filters that actually work that fit into the black Berkey Water filler spot in the Berkey? We just bought a Berkey and I'm thinking maybe if it's got a guarantee maybe we should return the Berkey we also have a zero water filter not sure if it makes as many gallons as it claims but it will test out to zero where refrigerator water or sink water does not I have yet to test the Berkey water

The authorized dealer I bought my Berkey 3.25 gal. from also sent me an extra set of filters. The dealer actually sent the Berkey to me in California the which is not allowed. They said that they were going to stop being an authorized dealer and he didn’t care if they send it to me. I tested my filters at about seven months. I had one of my four filters fail the red dye test. Later I noticed a second filter failed the red dye test. I did call Berkey and they said that the company I purchased from was an authorized dealer. They said I could send a copy of my receipt and purchase prorated filters. I decided not to and continued using the two that were still good. I didn’t want to put money out I couldn’t afford on new filters. How many people has this affected especially if the Berkey’s are not doing what they claim to do. I really hope this lawsuit goes through. I just feel like I’m out so much money. I highly doubt that Berkey would’ve reimbursed me for the two bad filters. Please let us know when you find a countertop system that works well. I’m new to your channel. I have watched most of the videos you just came out with regarding Berkey. I thought I would be saving money because why else would I put out so much money. This is affected so many people. Thank you for your suggestions for other filters in this video. I am still a little on the fence about Berkey, but I did just order some additional Seychelle Water filters that I use for day to day to put in my emergency supplies.
The need to filter municipal "tap" water is dubious at best. If people were dying from drinking unfiltered tap water I think we'd have bigger problems to deal with. If municipal water supplies become unreliable or non-existent we would have to resort to natural water sources. Rain catchment, rivers, lakes, ponds, etc. Boiling is pretty much the universally accepted method of making sure water from these sources is safe for consumption. The water filter industry has capitalized on the prepper community and made pretty good bank using sensational scare tactics. I'm 52 years old and have been drinking plain old tap water my whole life and guess what? I'm still alive and very healthy. Water filter systems are a scam. Berkey included.

Im no christian but I still believe lying for your own benefit is an awful thing to do especially with a lack of testing when all they want is money. Good on you for the research. And don't let stubborn individuals push you off the path towards the truth because they cant accept that they were wrong.
Question is, the one tested for the court case...the one that stopped after 100 gallons...were those true Berkey filters? My guess is that it was otherwise it wouldn't have been allowed as evidence. Am I remembering that correctly from one of the last videos?
Doesn't a reverse osmosis take out all of the minerals in the water? If they do is it necessary to supplement with certain mineral? I'm just trying to get informed there is so much out there!

What do you think about Zero Water? They have pretty much good filter system and as far as I have seen, different test results showing their filter system is great.
I would like to hear what is your opinion and maybe during your search came across some data what prove or deny the results.
An other question, maybe the Zero Water filter somehow we can fit into Barkley water tank and we could use our investment in a different way?

Alexapure I know has done its job though. As a consumer of Nascent Iodine I would feel in my thyroid whenever I consume any halogen besides Iodine. With Alexapure I wouldn't feel any trickling in my thyroid till afte ra year and a half, then I would get a new filter. However, I have received faulty filters from them and had to get a replacement 3 times in the same order.

This “battle” is so personal, emotional, passionate and not factual that it’s a pure waste of time. I’ve watched both videos and I have no clue if I should buy a Berkey or not. Please join forces and seek factual truth together! Or at least calm down and be more objective before talking. I say that with the utmost respect, just that it upsets me to have to go through this when trying to know which filter to buy. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints as well. I hope you don’t think bad about our church just because of one person’s comments to you. He doesn’t represent all of us. I really appreciate the research you have done to find the truth amidst all the deception of those who want to make money in a business without doing all the hard work of making a quality product and getting it certified. We do value emergency preparedness as a church but we also believe strongly in not attacking others and treating them with respect. I hope you keep on searching for the truth and we can all work together to find the best products out there to protect us and our families. I heard of a company called Seychelle that is supposed to be really good and would like your opinion of their laboratory tested data claims.

I have a Berkey. Did not like the taste. Had RO for years but the plumber said it was going to leak so it was disconnected and got the Berkey. An odd smell and taste. Got some 90.10 water bottles, expensive and all 4 have rust arount the necks! But the taste ftom Berkey is better. Still looking for a water filter but kitchen needs work so need a countertop filtration system. Am going to try enviromagnetics soon. Need to get them installed...magnets on pipes.

If you can’t attack the augment attack the person. Where are his “facts”? People rarely are willing to admit they put their faith in something that looks to be turning into a lie. It’s why people keep believing in conspiracy theories no matter what the proof is.
There are water testing kits out there that aren’t trying to sell you anything else. Don’t know anything about ones on Amazon, but you can pick one up @ most hardware stores.
p.s. My husband’s area of expertise is environmental waste & water systems. His job is helping poorer communities to get grants from the state so they can upgrade their infrastructure to have safe water. He’s been very interested in these lawsuits.

I just unsubscribed from LDSPrepper's channel. It's a shame he felt threatened by your research and attacked you as he did. He sells Berkey merchandise and has stood behind Berkey for quite some time. Partially due to his endorsement I purchased a Berkey water filter and found it didn't improve the taste of our Southern California water, which indicates to me it isn't filtering as claimed. We should support each other in truth.
