Hello everyone, Ryan here. I've been an HVAC service tech since 1999 after I graduated from trade school. I worked for a residential non union HVAC company for 14 years after school. It was at that point that I made the move to the union and have been a journeyman in the UA pipefitters union ever since. I primarily do commercial/industrial HVAC service, repair and maintenance. I have always had a interest in video production so i decided to make some UA-cam videos. I hope anyone viewing this content enjoys and appreciates it. Feel free to contact me with any request or suggestions you may have because I feel that everyday is an opportunity to learn and grow in anything that your doing in your life. Thank you and hope you enjoy!

Is that electric heat in a rooftop unit? Interesting
Nice job Ryan 👍
I always wondered if your van is over height after u put the ladders on there and how do you get them off there much less st😂rap them down do you wear a fall harness we got one it easyly holds them on the inside wth a king size bed and a lazyboy😅😅😅
This looks like it would cost a fortune in electric😅😅
'Disconnect'
211th thumbs up
looks like the belt slapped off a fat chunk of the inside insulation from just spinning
Indeed, update is this unit has been replaced since I posted this video. Thank you for watching!
With a little bit more thought, the Coleman style York HX would be as easy to change as the Lennox B box....but no...they had to make it so you remove the entire side of the unit to pull the HX out. Pita job.
Not knocking the video at all. I enjoy watching all HVAC videos
That’s why I keep every tool possible to check heat exchangers even a 8ft snake cam
This may be a ridiculous question, but have you ever had to shovel a path through the snow on the roof? Have you ever had so much snow on a roof that you could could not get the hatch open?
Never
@ ok awesome! I’m going to be joining a large commercial kitchen company and that was in my mind.
Nice vid Ryan !💪🏼🔥
Appreciate it!!
New HVAC technician here. I found out all of your videos are phenomenal. God bless you Sir
Appreciate the kind words, welcome to the industry!
Way to be a technician instead of a part changer. Great catch for sure! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the kind words!
As an apprentice your videos are so valuable for me.. always looking forward to see any new videos even if is charging a light bulb 😂. Thanks brother
Glad they are helping you out, thanks for watching!
👍🏼
Thanks!
Nice job! Brings back memories of those old Carriers.
Thank you for watching!
Not a fan of those heaters so far In
Kind of a pain to reach all the way in there to work on them, I agree
I have the -20deg and -60 deg bibs and they are the most comfortable and warm bibs I’ve ever had, durable as well!
Love their stuff!
I’m in Carnegie, Pa
Sweet! Thanks for watching!
Im surprised it didnt cause a fire ball from delayed ignition
Me too bro
@i will say this newer furnaces (basically 1992- present) are less prone to fireballs compared to older ones I remember we had a furnace from the 1970s and the delayed ignition one time caused the whole house to shake like a earthquake was going off
If its 3 phase you need to test phase to phase. You could read through the coil and will give you false readings when meatering to ground
Thanks for the tip! And for watching!
it was possibly lighting with a bang or intermittently, unless they have enough other heat in the building to not notice it. yeehaw! 🤠
Right!
This is great training. Jumping r to w1 and w2, and then learning about burners being out of place, boosting my confidence, and making me feel like i can really make this residential to commercial/Industrial jump. That jumper you built, is it a 3 jumper? Thanks Ryan.
Yes, I just wire nut together old broken jumpers. Appreciate the comment brother
Nice Call 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙....nicely done Ryan
Thanks Jason!
👍🏽
Thanks!
keep it up buddy
Thanks, will do!
first clue , it's a new account . maybe someone owes some money so they were shut off just to mess with them .
Good possibility! Thanks
Thanks for the upload, learned something new for the field 🤙🏻
Right on, glad I could help!
Learn something new everyday! Wonder how many burners I've mixed up 😅
It’s easy to do!
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great job Ryan stay safe.
Thank you!
Hi I left you msg few days ago in regards if I can do volunteer hour with you to gain main more experience if you can help please and thank you
Hughesmanhvac@gmail.com
is combustion blower another name for Inducer motor
Yes, induced draft motor is probably the correct name but it is also called a combustion blower
@HughesManHVAC your videos are so awesome 👌 👏 👍🏼
You’ve saved me a bunch of time with your videos, thanks!
Good to hear! Thanks
Hey it’s Will from north Huntington. Just showing some love. I didn’t know that the burners have a certain position they had to be in like with those two endcap ones that are crimped. Thx learn something new every day. Also, thanks for that limit switch much appreciated.
Thanks Will! Appreciate the love, glad I could help.
majority of the residential burners are the same way, including boilers. some may not have cross tubes, but will have directed flame holes to cross ignite. the holes will be near the front and around the circumference up to ninety degree's from center. the end burners will only have holes towards the inside/other burners.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Great taking us along with you , I needed to get out of the house a little while Thx
I appreciate it!
Fine Job, very knowledgeable HVAC man..
Thanks!
I Enjoy your content ,I find it very entertaining and informative.
Appreciate that, thanks for watching!
Nice work Ryan. Gotta love an easy fix. Tell any haters to go pound sand!
Appreciate it!
Just got into the industry, still in school for it. My mom told me about your channel because, apparently, your dad was friends with my grandfather back in the day or something like that. Your videos have helped me learn while giving me entertainment.
Are you Carries kid?
@HughesManHVAC Michelle is my mom's name. We're from NE Ohio. Mike is my grandfather
I know your family, family friends. Good luck in school and if you pick up HVAC like you pick up guitar you’ll have no problem.
Good luck! Experience will be your best friend. Dont be afraid of mistakes everyone makes them. Learn from them and don’t make the same one twice and you will do awesome!
@@HughesManHVAC Thanks, I appreciate that sir
Did that once...pulled burners ..cleaned. ...only 2 would fire....i said well what the hell....
Easy to do, thanks for watching!
Good fine 😮
Appreciate it !
Nice work Ryan.
Thanks!
Nicely done Ryan! I believe the RES amp rating on the contactor is the rating used for “Resistive” loads, such as your heater. I agree, it is odd to see 2 heaters on a single fuse block and contactor. Be safe out there brother
You’re right but even at 30amp res, both banks were pulling 37 amps. We reached out to Lennox and have a solution. Thanks for watching Steve!
@ oh yeah, you were definitely onto it, something didn’t seem right. That’s a veteran eye in the cold 👏. Commercial HVAC is the Wild West these days.
Tell them the recommendations. If they say no, then say we do not mind as it will give us a service call charge for each item as they individually fail in the near future. More profits for us.
Exactly 👍
When I was starting out, those units were everywhere. What beasts. In fact, my very first repair was for a no heat in one of them, in single digit temps. I did a 31 year old 1991 two years ago. I had two helpers who had never seen one like it.
Interesting, thanks for watching!
I have to tell you...I enjoyed watching someone else do one of these. I have maybe 40 of them in my rearview mirror. This is a good tutorial for the new guys. When I do one, I do the crossover as well.
Thanks for watching, appreciate the feedback!
