I remember the Betty Crocker catalogue. When I was married in "73, my everyday silverwear was bought through the catalogue by my mother-in-law. I still have some of the serving pieces.

I went to an estate sale in Glastonbury in an antique home in Glastonbury a few years ago. My biggest regret is that I didn't get there sooner!

I absolutely love Johnson Brothers. I collect Olde English Countryside. I do have friendly village also. Thanks for all the information about the company. I wanted to tell you about a place I think Eric would like. It's called Roosevelt tower antiques and salvage. While I have never been there they have been advertising on Google. It's in derby and I have driven by it . Definitely full of old rusty things and some China too. Check out the website since I know it's not really close to you. Happy hunting ❤

Hi Kris, Ahhhh....that wool blanket you added to your bedroom is just beautiful!! Very very pretty. My old house I used to live in, in Cromwell, had a landing with a very similar railing, and I used to do the same thing....dry some large pieces, hanging down. Boy, do I miss that feature. Also I appreciate your in depth information on different brands etc . I bought so much Johnson Brothers Friendly Village at a garage sale last year. at a very cheap price, maybe a quarter a plate. Bowls, plates, serving pieces, glasses, goblets etc. I sold a lot around the holidays. 😊

Thanks for the history of Friendly Village. We bought a set of eight for everyday in the 1960’s. I still have it and have replaced chipped pieces and added to it. Now it is only used for special occasions. I was lucky enough a few years ago to buy the Millstream pattern ( red/ pink transfer ware by Johnson Bros. It is very hard to find. It is also used for special occasions or display.
