Now that many little locally owned gift stores are no longer in business in many areas it seems like thrift stores are the new gift stores and they can get away with higher prices. So, thrift stores aren’t so cheap anymore for resellers to buy and resell. A long time ago I use to pick pretty things up here and there and I could make a small profit selling them to antique shops to sell. Well in my area there are very few antique stores to sell too and they want to to get items cheaper themselves to resell so there is a bigger profit. So that kind of squeezes out the picker. Plus it seems the younger collectors collect items I think are not very nice and not to my liking. So in many ways I think thrift stores have become the new gift stores. All we seem to have around my area are big box stores , dollar trees, dollar generals, etc. with junky stuff. The competition at the thrift stores is unbelievable and it is really hard to find nice things.

It looks like there may have been a Waechtersbach made in Germany piece in the Christmas tree pattern near the big ornaments at the start of your thrifting. Could be collectible??
