My hobby is building Honda CT70 and related style bikes. I’m not a Honda purist and build most of my bikes with larger aftermarket engines. My videos aren’t flashy or include fancy camera work, just simple filming of my daily life in my garage. Thanks for following along.

Hi Mike, Just stumbled on your channel. I'm an instant fan. Looking for a Honda QA50. I grew up in Niles Michigan and the QA was my first bike. Had a couple Ct 70's and and a YZ 80 after that. I want to rebuild a QA50 with my son. He's 12 and has a strong interest. If you know of any basket cases or a anything at all, please reach out! Loving your videos! Brings back a lot of great memories.

@@ngk330 I’ve been to Iowa a few times and I watch Junkyard Digs channel…..Iowa can be frigid! 🤣🤣 Maybe we’ll venture that way in the fall sometime, before winter hits.
Well, it looks like you've already gotten more snow than we have in SW Idaho. We had a couple of inches the other day, but the rain came and washed that all away. 8 PM and it's 40° right now. I'm sure we'll get a bunch of snow at some point, but not right now. Besides, I'm going flying in the morning and prefer no snow for that.

There was actually a company that made a mini-bike by a company called RUPP. Mine had a 5 horse.
@@johnguffey5913 Yes. If you watch this video, I explain that another company tried to take advantage of the Rupp name, with this bike.
Okay, first: You totally answered my main question, and I can't believe it's that simple. Having the headlight/tail light completely cut out if you run out of gas, is dangerous and should be IMO fixed by the manufacturer. Second, do you know of any way to get the battery to charge more reliably while riding? Mine never held a charge no matter what engine speed I rode at. (I regularly rode from Tucson to Phoenix) Thanks a ton!
@@jcb0249 My Champion still has the original battery in it, from June 2022. I’d guess you either have a bad battery, that won’t take a charge…., a bad regulator or a bad stator.

Can i use a full wave rectifier? If not why? Is a full wave or half wave better?
@@alvinaviation4252 Which regulator you need is determined by the stator on your engine. Some stators are half wave, some are full. You will need a regulator that matches the wave of your stator.
