Had one when I was 11. Dual rear views mirrors, front and rear blinkers, 4sp, title AND a helmet lock! One of the absolute coolest lil Honda ever made......
Brings back so many memories, that was the first bike I had growing up, it was new, got it for Christmas. You are correct in that it had a headlight, turn signals and a taillight, wfo it would run about 44 mph. It was in show room condition when we sold it, my dad threatened to chain it to a pole in our garage if he caught me jumping anything. Sold it to buy my first street bike, a 1973 Honda 350four, another great bike at the time.
I would have bought that in a heart beat.Get the motor tuned up,fix tires. Then find a muffler basic lights and a factory switch.I love original.Dont restore it.We call it fixing it up!I have a 75 xl100 that I saved from the scrap.I love that thing!
Looking forward to this one. Taking my 74 XL70 (and 2 old Triumphs) camping this weekend! I stripped mine down even further than this one was. They are such perfect little camping bikes.
That first start was amazing!!! A budget clean and fix would be awesome to watch!! Are aftermarket parts available for these bikes like they are for the CT's?
I vote for "fix it all on a budget", not restore. Ignore cosmetics other than a lot of cleaning... Use whatever is spare on the shelf, make it back to a fun, safe rider.
Hi mike, i have just found your channel, and iam working my way through your videos, you are great to watch mike, i really like the honda mini bikes, and like you i prefere the patina unrestorerd look👍 Keep up the good work all the best from accross the pond👍
Its so similar to an SL70, I'd say lets see what you can do with it. I've got two SL70's to work on, and one's on the bench right now. Careful with that back wheel! 😂
i hada SL70 14 YEARS AND IT STILL CRANKED ON A DIME ..USUALLY THE ONLY ISSUE I HAD ON THESE WERE THE GAS SWITCH THAT GOES FROM NORMAL TO RESERVE IT GETS CLOCKED UP CLEAR IT UP IT SHOULD GO AGAIN.
@@jerryharper2217 Unfortunately, you’ll never see that on my channel. Dad put me on a Honda Z50, when I was 4. I’ve never owned another brand. You’ll only see horizontal Honda bikes, on my channel.

Always enjoy watching the videos. If the muffler is too far gone it might be fun watching you patch that up.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a quick restore of the bike, funny it runs so good without doing anything 😮
