@@djantix1200 Thanks. Yeah, I never use the words restore or restoration, for what I do. I prefer to call them a “rebuild”. I appreciate you took the time to watch and comment.
As for this video - I use a CHAIN with hay bail string & evapo rust does work! Also- straight 30% vinegar does the trick too - but must rinse, rinse after & then Immediately put gas in there to neutralize the tank. Wildman RG3
Wish I could send you a picture of my 74 XL 70 survivor. 💯 original with both rear view mirrors, less than 1000 miles, and still has it's title. Great job Sir, take a bow....👏👏👏
@@davidleland8729 Thanks. I use to have a lot more. I sold 42 CT70’s in 2017, to buy the building I have now. Hated to lose the bikes, but enjoy not having a mortgage. 😁
From what you started with the bike looks amazing. Like you did a make-over on an ugly duckling and turned “her” into a nice looking ”girl next door” !!
Enjoyed your video series here Mike.... When you first started to disassemble the bike and you had not pressure washed it I was freaking out.. I wonder if you heard me all the way from Louisville? I was saying, "Mike, go clean that damn thing outside!" and then about 1/2 way through the video you said it and I instantly felt better. hahaha - I would suggest a couple of tank cleaning tricks.... Two rounds of vinegar or evaporust... I have even flushed with water after round one and then go back at it with evapo or vinegar. Then once you have it done, blow air in the tank for 8+ hours... a fan at the cap hole usually works for me. Por 15 sealer once super dry, but must be bone dry
Mike next time u do a lifan swap into a stock ct 70 could u make a list of whats needed. Maybe post some links of where u purchase the parts at. I know its alot to ask put if u find time it would b great. Im considering doin a swap and not sure where to start would b nice from someone that has done this before

I love these restorations because you can actually ride the thing and it's not just a garage queen. Love what you did and it looks sweet!

White vinegar will ckean a tank well and is alott cheaper than evaporust which is a good product as well.
