Will all of the oil drain out being jacked up on one side? Should the car be level?
All good except I would have cleaned the oil filter housing
Great instructional video. Now I just to to have the courage to do it on my own! Oil change is all I've done!
I'm a Tech and this little plastic squeeze shit pisses me the fuck off ! That clasp exists no where else in the Automotive industry! F Toyota!
Great video. Thank you. Need more F10 N55 videos please. Ex: how to reach the EWG to adjust the linkage 🤪
Be sure to check out the playlist for all the videos on the F10 N55
Cant believe how much a dealership charges for this 5 minute job! Once again, UA-cam Academy saves the day! Thank you for the detailed walkthrough!!
Air flow arrow to the back of the car 👍🏻
thank you so muchhh! i went to dealership and they want to charge $150 for replace both ac and engine filter 💀
Happy to help! 👍🏼
You should be proud of this video.
HOW TO REMOVE THE HEADSUPDISPLAY?
Thank you! I had this exact problem! Less than $8 for the part and 2 minutes later, problem solved!
This is by far the clearest and simplest tutorial I've seen. I noticed you didn't apply brake grease anywhere which is super emphasised on other videos, any thoughts on this?
Yeah someone else brought that up. I made a mistake and didn’t put any one. Please apply brake grease to your brake pads.
reason of repair what broke ?
Hmm if I remember correctly I believe this one had incorrect crankcase pressures and was burning up oil. So the complete valve cover had to be replaced.
El mejor video y he visto unos cuantos ,bien explicado y claro, gracias
Thank you so much for this video. You saved me $200 for Toyota to change this, and my engine filter. Your directions were super clear and to the point! 🤗✅
Happy to help! 👍🏼
🙏🏼
This stupid fuck keeps editing and didn’t show how he removed some connectors
Thank you!!!
👍🏼
Replaced the sensor but still get code c0710
What car do you have? After the sensor was replaced and then codes erased how soon after did the code reappear?
@friendlymechanic9778 2012 silverado, drove it a couple times with no issue than all of a sudden dash light came on and I got the code
Any other warning messages or faults stored?
@friendlymechanic9778 Nope, no other codes so far
Hmmm how about the part is it OEM? Is it a good quality part?
I think you topped it off way too much. The ball in the level should be level with the top portion of the fill hole.
When you remove the "check" bolt, do you remove it with the engine running or turned off? Great video BTW!
Those are the same part numbers for a 2021 LE?
I would double check but I would assume yes. You can call up your local dealer and give them your vin and they can verify the part numbers.
Is the AWD same? I know cv axle gotta be removed, should the front drive shaft and front def be romved as well? Thank for the great video it's the only informative video in the entire UA-cam about F10 oil pan.
The AWD is very similar. The main difference are the axles and front differential. Both axles and differential need to be removed. The axles will most likely be stuck so an air hammer will help knock it loose. It will help if you let it soak in WD-40 or a rust penetrant. When removing the differential it will be heavier than it looks so be careful about that and try not to tip it to one side because the differential fluid can pour out through the axle holes.
@friendlymechanic9778 thanks a lot
👍🏼
Did you have to readjust the screw on the Valvetronic motor?...I did mine but now my idle is rough
No adjustment is necessary. Make sure all ignition coils are plugged in all the way. If you Have a code reader check what the stored faults are as well it will guide you to what was probably left unplugged
@@friendlymechanic9778 Looks like I forgot to transfer the Valvetronic gasket from the old valve cover to the new one, I'll double check and see
Don’t reuse the old gasket. Replace with a new one.
You got video on locate front turn signal?
OMG EXCELLENT precise video! It just happened to me last night! I was close to empty and a gentleman helped me opening the cover to fill up so I searched out this video and yours is excellent to help me do it myself! Thank you very much ! ✅ Subbed!
That’s great! I’m glad it was useful! 👍🏼
thanks!!! very clear video help me a lot to get the job done
I am glad I could help. 👍🏼
Awesome
Thank you
i love you bro
Can I get the part number for the vacuum line that was connected to the pcv valve or does anyone know how I can find it online please 🙏🙏🙏
Quick and to the point. Thank you!
Is the torque wrench necessary?
For this job it’s not it’s just good practice. If you bottom out the bolt and snug it down you will be okay.
Hello, where are you located? I'd like to bring my car past your shop
The best step by step instruction video 👍.
Fantastic video, wish you could do one on how to remove the centre console by gear stick and all the buttons so i can wrap it…
Wait, I just paid 50 dollars for them to do that? 😢
I know the F80 M3 spark plug interval is 30,000 miles, is it the same for the coils? Thanks for the video, especially tool and parts list!
The ignition coils do not have a service interval time frame. They are only replaced if they fail. If one fails it’s a good idea to replace them all at that point.
This video probably won't get the recognition it deserves, but you my friend deserve a round of applause for the way you teach. Very kind with patience and at the same time doing an excellent job.
Super easy however they could've made the tabs a little bigger lol. Some of us have bigger hands i guess.
I'm very mechanically inclined but after buying my F10 535I 6MT, I've spent every weekend working on this thing and decided I didn't want to do the oil pan gasket. After my local indy shop quoted me $1600 to do the job, I decided my back didn't hurt bad enough anymore and I could do the job myself. Honestly, the job is fairly easy. Its just tedious but wasn't incredibly complex. I had to buy an engine support bar and decided to splurge and get a digital torque wrench so I can do the angle torque appropriately instead of eyeballing it. When I went to put my subframe back in place, I was fully prepared to have to battle with the subframe to get it back in. I can't make it up but the subframe just slid back in without any issue. The only complaint I can make is about that one weird sized bolt on the front of the pan you mentioned. I purchased the bolt you specified but it was too short. I ended up needing to order the slightly longer one and it worked no problem. I can't seem to find any info online about how to identify which one you need exactly. Even RealOEM shows both part numbers but no specific identification about which one is needed. Honestly, just buy both bolts! It will save you the headache when the time comes and you end up with an extra $5 you don't need. by the way, I just want to make it super clear!!!!!!! Do not reuse any oil pan bolts. I know some guys will reuse some on the Aluminum bolts of these cars (Me included sometimes) but these bolts will absolutely snap. These bolts are super fragile and isn't worth the repair to extract the bolt from your shortblock.
Was für eine bescheuerte Bauweise Da haben einige Ingenieure ein paar Semester zu wenig studiert 😂😂😂
How much would u charge for this Job
Perfectly explained. Now to save this video for when I get ready to do it myself. Gorgeous neighborhood in the background!
Thank you for this too! You help me save money all the time
Our dealership wanted $75! Hahaha thank you sir
I changed all new coils and still misfire in cylinder 1 😊
What were the fault codes before replacement of all ignition coils? There are many reasons for a misfire. If your only fault code is for one misfire on one cylinder. You can try swapping the spark plugs from cylinder one to two and see if the misfire follows to cylinder number 2. Then you know you have a bad spark plug. Same can be done with ignition coils and fuel injectors. Make sure you are using quality parts for these repairs aftermarket parts can present the same issue or a new one. Certain symptoms can help identify the issue as well. Is the misfire happening all the time, or only during certain conditions? Idle, startup, warm engine, cold engine, under a heavy load? You can also use other issues you may be having as a hint. If You have a misfire and at the same time you notice your coolant light comes on every now and then a bad head gasket can be leaking coolant into the cylinder. A boroscope and coolant pressure test is needed to verify this.
air suspension is a joke
Thank you for a very clear process. Best video on this repair. As other comment, saved me $800. Thanks! Only other sugestion you could have made was to make sure the bulb is all the way in before rotating the clamp. I should turn easily as I found out.
thanks for the video how about spark plugs , is this good time to replace them ?
