Great detail! Was exactly what I needed. Just as an FYI with bmw coolant connectors the locking tab can be in the locked position when connecting, it will auto lock because of the angled collar 👍🏼

Yes it can but in this tight space it made it a lot more difficult than it should compared to say the upper coolant hose on the E90. Those snap on easy even when locked.

No idea where you are located, but you should be everybody's go to mechanic, excellent work always and care for property, lazy mechanics are a thing nowadays, had 2 friends go for oil changes to find their engine shields removed underneath and weren't put back on, went back and got the "no idea what you are talking about" and the cover is gone.
    Excellent work and video.

Thank you! I’m just trying to help out everyone fix their cars. They may seem complicated and difficulty but at the end of the day it’s all just nuts and bolts. Sorry to hear about your friend’s vehicles. I’m glad you appreciate the videos 👍🏼

wondering if you can help me out, I have a 2016 G12 and I noticed an upper hose coolant leak by the radiator, so I took it to a local Indi shop and he said he had to replace the hose and that it was a pain in the butt. He charged me $500 and said it was good to go, I drove it maybe 10-20 miles and noticed that the engine was over heating so I pulled over to let car cool down, after it cooled I drove the car to my house which was only 2 miles away. after I let cool down I poured water to see where leak was coming from and It was gushing out water from the bottom of engine possibly where it connected, is it possible it could have disconnected? or could it be something else? by the way all the water I poured in came out instantly, Great video by the way and you are the first channel I have ever subscribed too in youtube LOL

First off thank you for your sub! I greatly appreciate your support.
As for the leak if it is gushing out almost instantly, there’s good news in that it won’t be hard to find. Based on the information you gave I would look at the upper coolant hose where it connects under the intake manifold.
Give it a tug if it doesn’t seem secure chances are it is not connected.
Remember there is a plastic connecting pipe that screws onto the block. It’s a little difficult to explain but essentially it’s upper coolant hose to connecting pipe to engine block. It would need to be checked to see if it’s the coolant hose or the plastic connecting pipe causing the leak.

@@friendlymechanic9778 Hi thanks for the reply, after I looked into it further the hose came loose from the engine block, I dont think he removed everything like you did to make sure the hose was secured and therefore came loose, question for you what is a fair price for a job like this?
