Currently I am using a pair of RCF J8's for most of my gigs. These types of systems are amazing and can cover 80% of my gigs. I like the portability and the fast setup and breakdown. I do often take a 15 inch sub with me on gigs to help with the bass. A buddy of mine wants to buy my system at the same price that I paid for it two years ago. So now I am thinking about the Maui 28. The 44 is just too heavy for me with the sub weighing 80LBS. At that weight I can't carry it up any steps safely. Compared to the J8 the 28 has more drivers and should sound cleaner. The J8 uses a plastic cabinet for the subwoofer while the 28 uses a wood cabinet which should result in better bass. So although the units have the same spl rating, the 28 should give me better sound ...

Thanks for the amazing video! This was really helpful. I initially had trouble connecting the Bluetooth, but turned on only one speaker, connected Bluetooth, and then linked to the other speaker. My mixer is plugged into channel 1 and it’s not controlling anything. I suppose I should go through channel 2. I’m so stupid when it comes to this stuff. I’m an artist, not a sound engineer lol! 😅

Jts are part of a group of companies which also contains FBT and studio master.. Stands to reason these are hidden gems of superb quality. I have a Jts line mic and it easily competed with the Shure SM58.. Yep it's that good!

Hi. Just picked up the performer. When it comes to labeling the jog wheels with those white stickers, do I want to keep anything in mind while doing so? Are there any tips for applying it properly. I’ve never done anything like this before. Never marked records, etc…so this is brand new to me. Thanks! The app wouldn't link with my compact. Yes I downloaded JBL pro connect v2. It when I got to the part it said speaker select it just keeps trying to load and wouldn't link. I had to cancel 2 gigs. Not impressed. Time to buy an Everse 8?

I just had a woman tell me they look "barbie-ish" and the cleaning as mentioned below will be an issue eventually unless they are handled by clean hands every time and never go outdoors. The fad thing is a definite possibility, remember when every computer was white? What color are they all now? Black also goes with everything and disappears in darker rooms. I've worked many weddings where the color scheme is not white but the complete opposite. Column arrays are clean looking whether black, brown (L' Acoustics and they cost $30-$50K) or white.

I started DJ-ing in the late 80's, Hip Hop, then soul music, then I went on to playing House music. I've always kept my vinyl and Technics decks and upgraded mixes over the years. Then I went onto CD decks (Denon DNS 3500's) and eventually going digital with VD and timecode, then onto controllers. While I loved my controllers, I could never get used to static platters because the 'Fun factor' went out of hands on DJ-ing of spinning platters. I got the Rane One and loved it. The Rane Performer is the best of both worlds and my next upgrade, it's a beast and perfect for DJ's like me. Loved watching and listening to this podcast. Peace and love!

Since the first time I tried this device I was impressed, when I received a unit at home I fell in love. This thing is so incredibly beautiful! I've been DJ-ing for 25 years and in all this time I have not come across something built as proper and fun and efficient as this absolute UNIT of a machine. The technics 1210's and the DENON MC 7000 came close but this one takes the cake. The only way I could see this get better is if you come out with a stand alone version with Engine Prime on it or some standalone version of Serato if that would exist. Congratulations to everyone involved in the creation, production and release of this device. Y'all knocked it out the park with this one.

I’ve just started using the 4 mic 7000 version of this for about 5 weeks now for karaoke, it’s been very reliable and to not just myself sounds better than my shure beta 58 with my bkx4r rack mount mic

these are ok i would like to hear someone sing thro them ,,,,I dont know if colum systems can replace the sound of proper speakers. the yhamaha dsr 12 blows all three systems away for example and far more portable ...the 44 defeats the object of having a portable system too but the 28 seems a player
