I have a weekly residency at a small but high end restaurant/bar in a downtown area where we play deep house music during dinner 6-9pm, no dancefloor. I am in the process of upgrading, and bought a pair of the white LD Maui 5's. I'm looking forward to how they sound, I think they will be perfect for the application. In 6mos from now if I am satisfied with the quality and performance of the LD Systems product, I will certainly be looking into this bigger system.
Great review Justin. I considered this VS the EVOX12. Can’t go wrong with either IMHO I chose the EVOX because it was a lot easier to maneuver and transport (sub is about 63lbs vs 80lbs). The included wheels and handles are small but impactful additions that improves mobility of the total system. It it also a little more flexible in terms of set up (height adjustability and being able to separate the tops and couple the bases). The Maui as stated in your video does have its advantages. Both fantastic
Hi, im really curious. I've been looking for a PA Column and i'm wondering if I should buy an Ld Maui 28 G2 from your review or Ld Maui 11 G3 which is newer. What do you think if it happened to listen to both of them.
hey man i have my new maui 44 g2 today and the bottom speakers don't seem to be as loud as the top ones is that normal they sent me another pair and they are doing the same thing when turned up very loud they are little older but not as loud as the mid ones pleas get back to me and tell me what you think of this thank you Ted
I would think that the upper column would be louder because of the height of them. You wouldnt want the bottome column to be blaring as loud as the top colum or you would be blaring out everyone on the dancec floor that is directly in front of it. That is what i think anyway :)
at 80 lbs is it heavy/cumbersome or does the handle configuration help? I'm using 18" EV subs (EKX) and I'm hoping to find something easier to transport. thoughts on the 28s?
Great info. Can I blue tooth on both units or is blue tooth on just one speaker? I get it fine on either, but how do I blue tooth both speakers? Thanks again
Hi ya Justin, Been waiting for this review, have the EV 50's currently, I'm 'tucked up' in bed watching from the UK, it's 1am here 🙂 I suppose my only real concern and what might make me think twice about buying this system is the total height and the fact this isn't adjustable. With the EV50's I have bought a couple of the shorter poles particularly if I'm on a stage which makes them a bit more flexible DJ Gaz
can you please tel me how in the hell to get theses apart easier my gawd they really stick together any thing you do different ?? love it but now im hating it because it won't come apart unless i use a screw driver between the two heads
@@cesnav7593 you can play videos on your TV and HiFi system. The UA-camr just needs to use a good microphone. So yes, you could get a sense of the sound.
I can’t imagine the sound coming out of this thing. I have the 500 Curv TS from LD and it sounds phenomenal. The set up on this is quicker and I think the sound is louder is well.
everyone doing the ld preview is with them because noe of you show how hard the speakers are to get apart i know i have looked found nothing someone correct me maybe they just need worked in i dont know but damn they are tight
You are correct in that it took some might get them apart after. Not all that much different than working with trussing or larger column array rigs, so it wasn’t even a thought to mention. Being a DJ or running pro sound or lights isn’t always easy sir 🤷♂️
Thanks for your comment Agreed 100% - obviously you can always get something cheaper. That said, we are not here to change anyone’s mind and agree that you should purchase what makes the most sense for you. You either see the value in a product like this or you don’t and people should but what’s best for THEM.
@djxcel23 thats with all powered speakers, not just column speakers. Nothing will ever top or beat passive speakers, but im all about being compact and setting up fewer things. When u hear and own a pair of these, u will never go back to carrying those heavy ass subs and full range speakers ever again. I guarantee it
@@djxsquizit I was about to get the rcf's , my friend has them and I borrowed them they are good. And also I know someone who has the LD's. My events and are mainly hip hop reggae & soca driven so I wouldn't get the volume output I would like
I'm sorry to say but those are not Portable, those are PA system that shrink it size and wanna be portable. The Column array does not fit into the Sub so that you can carry it with just one hand. The sub are too bulky you can't carry it just by one hand. A portable Line array should be in one for setup and dismount. Portables like the Eon one MK2 are example.
Portable “column array” are not a true example of line array sound systems. They don’t have power to be considered true line array. You can get away with an EV evolve or something similar, but they don’t bang like a true sound system. Portable is for your convenience, but simply don’t measure up to something that isn’t considered portable.
By utilizing 12 x 3.5” mid range & 4 x 1” tweeters along w 1500W RMS & a 15” sub woofer, vocals, pianos and acoustic gtrs, violins etc absolutely cut through w/o being harsh. Is the sub heavy? Yes. But a rolling castor board is an option.
Best review I’ve seen on this. I really appreciate it!
We are honored to hear that, thank you!

We did a comparison :-) ua-cam.com/video/bn679yBXnio/v-deo.htmlsi=FHSzA5FgReiI6cvF
I am looking for this one or the 25 g3 for a 4 piece band, 2 acoustics, 1 bass, 3 vocals. Do you think this one or the 28 is worth trying?
We would love to discuss with you in person - call or text our office 1888-378-1744 for help :-)
Any problems with them limiting out ? What are the typical knob settings?

@TheDJsGuru yes link ... I can do one speaker but not both? Kinda weird...
@@wkhentertainment-vd1qc we actually talked about the true stereo linking ability in the video and yes they can be paired.
Does de 28 g3 have the same Bluetooth capabilities as the 44 g2?

Glad to have you here friend!
is there a way you can compare this G2 with the PRX ONE, although one has a 12” vs 15” sub… maybe just head to head…. thanks in advance.
Perhaps one day :-)
Are the bags available yet?
Contact us at djsupplystore.com and we'll be happy to let you know the current status of OUR availability, we can't speak for other dealers.
We got the white 28g3 set included covers and bags for 3100 at Sweetwater. Great deal.
