LD curious. Not sure how I hadn't heard of them before, but it looks like they're looking to break into the North American market in a big way. Thanks for the reviews... I'm leaning heavily toward investing in LD when I need my next system!
I am a Wedding DJ with crowds from 100-200 sometimes a little more (def below 300) I am trying decide if I should get Maui 44G2 or pay a little extra and get RCF 945 with 8003 subs. More to carry with RCF but is the sound quality and power enough to make me go for the tops and bass?
Hi there I'm thinking to buy 2 28g3 I see some videos and I listen what you say for the ld 28g3 I'm very curious how many people 2 of 28g3 outdoor can handle
I have the LD Curv 500 TS and the LDG3. The Curvs are awesome but the G3s are way more portable so they’ve become my go to system. I’m thinking about going after the AV market and I think the Curvs might be better suited for that purpose.
I picked up 2 of the 28 g3's and they are incredible. They way the column drivers are tuned really brings out the mids, especially in vocals, which is what my show is. Vocal tributes to Classic artist and playing dance music as well. Amazing units
Hello, I have a question : If I play the 28 to give 100 DB and if I play the 44 to have the same volume, the same power, the same 100 DB ... Do the 44 carry the sound further in the room than the 28 ? THANKS.
Currently I am using a pair of RCF J8's for most of my gigs. These types of systems are amazing and can cover 80% of my gigs. I like the portability and the fast setup and breakdown. I do often take a 15 inch sub with me on gigs to help with the bass. A buddy of mine wants to buy my system at the same price that I paid for it two years ago. So now I am thinking about the Maui 28. The 44 is just too heavy for me with the sub weighing 80LBS. At that weight I can't carry it up any steps safely. Compared to the J8 the 28 has more drivers and should sound cleaner. The J8 uses a plastic cabinet for the subwoofer while the 28 uses a wood cabinet which should result in better bass. So although the units have the same spl rating, the 28 should give me better sound ...
@@13bcoffee That’s good math but it doesn’t always translate to real life. Coverage patterns do, watts and spl from listed specs not so much. Maui28 is a lateral move from Evox J8 IMO if you want more go Evox 12 or Maui 44 g2. We can help at djsupplystore.com give us a call or text 888-378-1744
Quick question, I am waiting for the G3 to land in our country. Is the column on the 44 louder than the 28g3 or only the low end? Columns are almost the same? Great video!!💪🏻💪🏻
Hello! Thanks for this video! I'm thinking about buying one of those. I play solo concerts (piano/singing/drum loops) in bars, restaurants, but also outside weddings (200 people max). I don't have any sonorisation system for the moment and looking for the most versatile option. My question : should i get two Maui 11 G3 or just one Maui 28 G3 (two 28 G3 would be too expansive for the moment, but maybe add an other one later to have a stereo sound). Is there a sound quality difference between the two models? I don't necessary need a lot of bass or big power. My priority is to have a nice clear sound to fully reflect the sound of my piano and my voice. Thanks a lot!!
You should listen to them before buying, with 2 ld 28 g3 systems you will face a maximum of 40-50 people on the dance floor, especially since those people will be in front of the system singing/shouting like at a party and the sound it will decrease drastically, yes they sound incredibly clear and loud for their size, but someone once said there is no replacement for displacement, you cannot compare these columns with the classic bass+tops systems, what you need for up to a maximum of 200 people is 2 ld g44 minimum so that the sound is good, all the best and remember what is written on paper in terms of marketing is different from what you will meet at a party!
How hard is it to carry a Maui 44g2 in a mini van. Is it heavy a hard to carry for loading or unloading. Had EV 50, not enough head room, and I blew my sub, so I got rid of them. I love the white look of the 44g2. Go me very interested. Thanks for the video
@ionitarazvan832 Hello, I haveLD 28 g3 system 2 pieces in sterea, but don't think that it can handle 100-120 people, yes, if those people sit quietly at the table and serve their food and drink, it can handle it, but at a party, people dance, shout, etc. when you have 40-50 people in the ring of dancing in front of the system, the sound starts to become a problem, especially on the bass side, separately I purchased a turbosound milan m15b subwoofer that works simultaneously with the LD system in order not to force the subwoofers of the LD system (I did not convert the LD system into satellites) and can cover about 70-80 people max on the dance floor!
I'm really curious, the price in my country of ld systems maui 28 g2 and maui 11 g3 are at the same price. I don't know which one I should buy, if you ever listened to both of them could you give me an answer on which one is better?
I think it's about time you tested the LD CURV 500 TS this system is better than the maui 44 with possibly a bit less bass and better than the Evox 12.
Is anyone using LD Sytems for live sound reinforcement for bands? DJ speakers are not the same as sound reinforcement speakers. Sound reinforcement speakers usually have pleats in the speakers to allow for greater speaker excursion, like for a kick drum hit or heavy bass and bass guitar slapping styles. This is why JBL has different lines of speaks. For example, JBL PRX line are DJ speakers, hence the prefix "PR" which stands for "pre-recorded" media, and the JBL SRX series prefix "SR" stands for "Sound reinforcement". There is a major difference in components as well as price.
hi i have two ld systems maui 11 g2 is there a way to connect both systems via bluetooth to play music from my iphone , only letting me play thro one system atm many thx keith
I have a pair of Curv500 (PS). I like its mini line array design. Sounds really good for home. I suspect only enough power for small house parties, acoustic live music. Haven’t heard their other column speakers. If I could go back I might buy Curv500 TS or Maui 28 G3 instead. LD Stingers G3 might best
Ask Jack what take so long ? I ordered a pair of white Maui 28 g3 two an a half months ago from Guitar Center and still waiting on back ordered. Replacing a pair of Bose L1 Pro32 they suck, I had them.
@@TheDJsGuruwondering what the verdict is on that? I’ve been waiting 3 months here in Canada on a white one, and apparently eta is now pushed to end of November.

these are ok i would like to hear someone sing thro them ,,,,I dont know if colum systems can replace the sound of proper speakers. the yhamaha dsr 12 blows all three systems away for example and far more portable ...the 44 defeats the object of having a portable system too but the 28 seems a player
How would you compare the Maui 44 to a traditional setup like a QSC KW181 paired with a QSC KW 122 or EV EKX series 18" sub and 12" satelite? How far behind does it fall?

For sound professionals, you should know such wireless microphones have small capsules and need to be located away from the source to avoid saturation and loss of high-medium sounds (where highest pressures occur when the source is human voices). For this type of HF transmitter with built-in capsule utilized, the better place is the sternum... about 15 to 20 cm away from the mouth. So strange to see that on this channel...! Then, before hitting "REC" on your camera, whatever its type, adjust the "White balance" so your skin colours shall look natural on the video. Not DJT-orange like we see there. And in case you are temped to reply "Video's not our job.", there are thousands of video tutorials on YT - similar to what you do, so it's weird you don't use them - explaining this (choose one from a seasoned pro, not from a good-looking teenager eager to expose himself to the World)... you'll get all necessary informations to adjust the "White balance", so you appear human on your videos and not like you're in a carotene-supplement cure ! Using the available light fixtures without properly setting the "White balance" , when filming indoors, is the biggest mistake one can make. When avoiding such error is so easy to do... that you should know. All this seems so unprepared... 🤔
