I got a hognose snake two days ago. I've had a corn snake for five years now. As I am a fan of Snkae Discovery, I knew fair amout about them specifically. But I am just cheking what other say about them. BTW my hognose snake is axanthic super conda. Soooo cute.

How do you tell how old they are.? How do they reproduce.? Are they good with other scorpions.?

Tip: hognoses need a SHALLOW water dish. They CAN drown themselves! My hognose did this to me this year and thank god I caught him in time. The emergency vet visit was a pretty penny but we had him on meds to prevent respitory issues. Thankfully he did not get sick or totally drown but after some research THIS IS A REAL THING😅

Mine is super handelible. I've worked with it since it was a neonate. I've also worked with one that was at least a year old when it came to me, and it ended up becoming a super sweet snake.

I adopted a 7 month old corn snake a few days ago, his name is Terry lol. I’ve not held him yet but am letting him get used to his new environment. He’s a lovely little noodle… was definitely underfed though before.

Just got a Hognose yesterday... didnt do much research beforehand but we are getting all the info we can! have almost everything for his habitat. just waiting on amazon to ship the thermostat before we really use the heat pad. I am worried that his cage right now is too cold and we have a lamp but I dont think its enough so the next two days are going to be rough.. We were told our baby is not even 2 months old yet. so he's super tiny and im worried that the stress of moving from the store to us and then to my wife's classroom is going to be too much. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I think paper bedding (the one for burrowing animals, it's usually in the rodent section) is best for holding burrows, and you can get different colors if you want.

The sad thing about these is that they will probably end up like the Emperor Scorpions in a decade or so, very rare and expensive due to overcollection. It is important that we don't make the same mistakes and try to actively breed them.
