  • I get asked OFTEN what are good pets for someone's kids or someone brand new to reptile keeping? Well I've gone over my five top recommendations last year, but I wanted to do a sequel video because there are even more great beginner pet reptiles out there! So today I talk about some more snakes and lizards that are easy to care for, feed, house, handle, and keep as a pet!

Nice list, we have a Spotted Python and it absolutely is a great beginner snake 🐍 (maybe the best and we have a corn snake as well)

You should totally do a blue tongued skink care

Good video. It's worth mentioning that the humidity needs of Indonesians can be significantly higher than for Northern Australians blue tongue skinks. That's not a deal breaker for a novice keeper, but it's enough to make me decide that I want only an Australian because they are even easier to maintain. I love BTS. I love the work skink, their ridiculous body to leg ratio, their big blue tongues, their curiousity...they are just so derpy looking they are adorable.

Hahaha, I thought he caved. He had me going. I understand beardies, but ball pythons seem like they would be fine as a first reptile. First pet, period? Not so sure.
