Five Tips For Starting A Reptile Education Business

- I get asked quite often by younger animal lovers how I got started and do what I do. Well today I'm going to give five tips from my own experience that will hopefully help you if you're serious about starting an animal education business of your own! I tried VERY hard to keep this video under 20 minutes and mostly succeeded, if people really like this video maybe I'll start a new series some day going even more in-depth with the steps I took to create Uncharted Wild and get it going!

Just wanted to check, can you take venomous animals to places to educate the public with the right amount of safety so they are nowhere near the audience?

How did ou findouit the specific licenses/insurance you needed for this? Thjat's been my struggle tbh
I have dreams of starting an animal education business, and kept thinking about what programs I’d want to do, like have one program dedicated to animals by continent or bring animals to kinda expand the idea of what a reptile is, have a program about reptiles that are dangerous or can just end in dangerous situations, invertebrates, and even had an idea where I bring monitors to talk about “living dragons”. This shone a light on the realism of all that and while I still would love to have few monitors to bring once I make sure they’re accustomed to people and being pet, I know now to plan much better in advance what animals I’ll bring at first, how to get my name out there and start programs. And I would absolutely LOVE a whole series going into each point, like the specifics of taxes and how to get your name out and start doing shows.

Yes please do a series ! I have 12 reptiles , 7 tarantulas and frogs . Also I took care of all these animals plus my mother who had Alzheimer’s I am not lazy it was a lot of work but makes me happy sadly my mom passed 5 months ago I am interested starting a educational birthday party business with my reptiles tell me what type of insurance do I need and what license will I need I want to do it right also I’m in Louisiana

Thank you! Legality depends on where you are so I can't speak to that but for taxes just hold on to receipts for everything. Grocery trips, feeder orders, enclosure upgrades, vet trips, basically everything is good aside from the actual purchasing of animals for tax write-offs.
