    Oh and there is literally shots in this video while in the “set” where you can see the “$10,000” camera rig in the background! Also the “$700” Sony has about another $500-$600 rigging support system on it. (From cage to grips to monitor) It’s just getting so normal for these kinds of videos and content creators to use vaporware staging to gaslight on UA-cam.

    • @VisionaryFilmStudios
      @VisionaryFilmStudios 16 днів тому

      So sorry to hear that you feel this way. I had that the $10k rig there to shoot the bts, not the commercial. That’s why you’re seeing it in the background of some of the shots. And yes, I do have my zve10 kitted out. You’re looking at a $1500 rig in the footage in this video. But if you think you need the rigging to shoot a tv commercial like this, you’ve missed the point of the video entirely. And I’m really sorry to hear that. Altogether, the core equipment I used for this commercial was: Zve10 - $700 Sigma 30mm - $300 Aperture 100d (2x) - $400 C stands (2x) - $300 Tripod - $100 Total: $1800 to buy all the equipment brand new, and I charged more than that to shoot the commercial. I fully believe everything I said in the video. And I did my best to limit myself to using affordable gear to demonstrate my points- specifically that you don’t need tens of thousands of dollars to make professional films. Yes, I do have tens of thousands of dollars of equipment I normally use. There’s nothing wrong with expensive equipment. But if you think expensive equipment will make your films better, you’re mistaken. The extra expense equals workflow improvements, not an increase in image quality. I’m really sorry to hear if you took anything else away from this. I would love to hear what you feel like would be more genuine so I could try and improve for next time.

  • @L-A-M-E-nergy
    @L-A-M-E-nergy 16 днів тому

    It might just be me but are these “shoot a film for less $” videos really just a sugar coated pill for a “but look at me with all of my other really expensive equipment” -“my $10,000 camera rig” -“my $10,000 light package” Etc. With stylized coverage of all of that equipment “porn” LAME

    • @VisionaryFilmStudios
      @VisionaryFilmStudios 16 днів тому

      My goal is to show where I’m coming from (what I normally shoot on, the type of projects I normally make, etc) to build authenticity, not turn you on. If you’re turned on, that’s you’re problem my friend.

    1:05 i like the first shot better for some reason bruh. I guess because it's contrasty, there's this epic rim light on the woman's face and the 2nd shot has overblown highlights, looks flat and is dangerously close to not having a focus point for the viewer. Also yellow lighting reminds of some very famous films

      So if you’re comfortable with color correct and grading, shooting flatter and conveying to rec709 is fine, probably a little better. The goal of the color profile I talk about in the video is to match s cinetone in the more expensive Sony cameras. So it’s meant to look great right out of camera without a ton of color correction needed.

      Awesome questions! 1. Yeah you need the original in the camera when powering via usb 2. Nope the battery won’t drain on you. I’ve powered it for 12 hours before using usb and the internal betters level never depleted. It actually charges the battery while you’re using the camera. 3. Nope overheating isn’t an issue Hope this helps 😄 let me know if you have any other questions

    Awesome video brother. Lights are still a bit of an unexplored territory for me but this helps me a bit definitely. This must've taken a lot of effort to make especially when you're simultaneously doing it with a client project. One thing about ZV-E10's shakey footage if you haven't tried yet: using its gyro data and stabilize it in Catalyst Browse/Prepare or the free Gyroflow app? Helps a ton as you can significantly minimize the crop to stabilize footage (unlike active stabe where it crops 40%). Though you might not like sacrificing resolution in exchange of stabe so you didn't consider it an option.

      This was definitely one of the most intensive single videos I’ve produced in a while. Took over five full days just to edit. Really appreciate the support on the video 😎🔥 I did try using catalyst browse when the zve10 first came out, but the software was pretty glitchy. It’s improved a lot now, but now I’m just use to not using it. I haven’t tried any of the third party apps, but overall I still kind of tend to steer away from using the gyro data just because of the poor rolling shutter performance in the zve10. It just doesn’t look as nice when you’re relying on it. But great to save you in a pinch! That’s just my two cents on it at least. I have made some videos showing how to use it 😄
