Do NOT buy the zve10 mk ii!! I want to make a video about it but haven’t had the time- just wrapped shooting a feature and have some HUGE content planned for the next few months. But I’ll squeeze a video in about it asap 😉 The zve10 is absolutely all the camera you need as a filmmaker or video producer. The a6700 will bring some workflow improvements, like having ibis, etc, but it will NOT improve the quality of your films!!
I have both the zve10 mark 1 and the a6700. Now, I will say, the a6700 is a beast, but I cant begin to tell you how many professional level video ive done from the zve10. Seriously, that mark 1 will be one of the best cameras for the next several years for the quality and the price. you cant beat it!
Hey brother! I'm an aspiring filmmaker/vlogger in the Philippines and I'm also using a ZV E10 paired with a Sigma 16mm 1.4 and a Tamron 17-70mm 2.8. I stumbled across your video, and this motivated me to start working on my ideas without upgrading to a better camera body just yet. I appreciate the effort you've put in all your videos and would love to see more of it. Hoping for more people to discover your channel and for you to get more subscribers. Wishing you and your wife more success in life!
Man I appreciate the support!! So glad you’re enjoying the content 😄 it’s 100% the filmmaker that makes incredible films, not the camera they use. Wishing you the best as well, let me know if there’s anything I can do or make content about to help you along 😉
I followed your tutorials on how to rig up a Sony ZV-E10 today all the parts arrived and it is awesome. All I am missing is a cord for the monitor but other than that it feels and looks great
great content, as before. learned a lot from your videos and owned a sony zve-10. i like your style: directly getting into the point without wasting time with nonsense.
Awesome video brother. Lights are still a bit of an unexplored territory for me but this helps me a bit definitely. This must've taken a lot of effort to make especially when you're simultaneously doing it with a client project. One thing about ZV-E10's shakey footage if you haven't tried yet: using its gyro data and stabilize it in Catalyst Browse/Prepare or the free Gyroflow app? Helps a ton as you can significantly minimize the crop to stabilize footage (unlike active stabe where it crops 40%). Though you might not like sacrificing resolution in exchange of stabe so you didn't consider it an option.
This was definitely one of the most intensive single videos I’ve produced in a while. Took over five full days just to edit. Really appreciate the support on the video 😎🔥 I did try using catalyst browse when the zve10 first came out, but the software was pretty glitchy. It’s improved a lot now, but now I’m just use to not using it. I haven’t tried any of the third party apps, but overall I still kind of tend to steer away from using the gyro data just because of the poor rolling shutter performance in the zve10. It just doesn’t look as nice when you’re relying on it. But great to save you in a pinch! That’s just my two cents on it at least. I have made some videos showing how to use it 😄
Great video! But something surprising I noticed. The funny dude in the shop who doesn’t like Joe ;) should be doing voice overs or narration, very interesting voice and I think there is something there.
hey man, i love your videos, and kudos to your stunning wife for supporting you through-out!!! im really planning to buy my first camera ever, ive been using or renting sony a6400, sony a6500, sony a7ii and a7iii, but i want to get a cheap camera to start, two choices i got, either the a6300(which is still expensive) or this.. would this be enough for me as a starter camera?
Yeah so the zve10 is the only beginner camera I have that isn’t over ten or fifteen years old. Would love to make some content about other ‘entry level’ cameras but I’m trying to make more content just about filmmaking in general rather than about specific cameras at the moment since the principles of filmmaking are what actually matter, not the specs you use. But I’m sure I’ll branch out to shooting on some other cameras eventually 😉
hey man nice video! between zve10 or z30, which one would you recommend? ill use it for personal use but still like to add that pro photography touch to my personal photos (mostly landscape and city photography).
Personally I’d go with the Sony, but you absolutely can’t go wrong w either camera. Just make sure you get a good lower aperture lens w it like one of the sigma f1.4 APSC primes or the sigma 18-50 f2.8 😉
The kit lens that comes with the camera is definitely still a great lens 😉 heres a link to a video I made about it: CINEMATIC Footage on a Budget - Sony ZV-e10 Kit Lens ua-cam.com/video/H7yiEVhWF0o/v-deo.html
