Really brilliant interview but at 51:38 speaking of Jeffersonian democracy and subsistence without an analysis of the slavery economy is super disappointing, like that can not be seen as an oversight it borders on omission. This is why so many black American working class are turned off by leftist because even in really brilliant moments of revelation they fail to see the account for the glaring void in their analysis which is the American economy and all of its facets stem from slavery. Overall brilliant interview though, keep up the great work
Even if you're going to go work in a grocery store the manager wants you to change the way you think to some crazy liberal shit

amber is dope
Good and evil are left-wing.
There's something to be said to us leftist elites. At least we wouldn't have considered a pedophile for the position of attorney general or a drunk rapist for the Secretary of defense or a Russian spy or a former stripper😅😅
It’s like you listened to the entire interview on mute ngl
My favorite Jim Morrison interview of all time.
I hope Josh and Catherine take a look at the comments - people are galvanized. I would sit out in the rain for this.
I love this lady ❤❤❤ I’m a hardcore liberal conservative, I don’t believe in politics. 😂❤
Answer: no.
two dorks talking about what is cool?? Listening for 3 minutes was all I could take. No-one likes nerds. unpack that
Amber so bad
This is the academic gibberish that fascists complain about when attempting to destroy education. Pure bullshit.
I feel like this guy should do a little more research into climate change and all of the "fun" things that are going to come with it. I wonder why all those tech bro billionaires are building bunkers in alaska & new zealand? AI will be the death of us, not because it will do anything cool like skynet, but because it will require a shit ton of energy & resources. We are rushing towards the extinction of the human race so some incel can have AI generate AOC feet pics.
This is the caliber of woman that could be president.. a pragmatic, charismatic, intellectual truth teller with personality. Not saying she’s necessarily the one.. but this caliber of person.. Kamala couldn’t hold a candle to her.
Amber
LOL I don’t even know where to begin with this and the generally uninformed premises that are spouted…The weirdest thing is that he speaks about the capitalism with horror but also a creeping smile. So weird.
Oh, he’s grifting. I don’t know why it took so long to click but makes total sense now. Money and power changed his mind lol. Which is why his “optimism” is so hollow and uninspiring. And by “least partisan” he means “mostly capitalist” lol. You cannot be interested in crypto if you are “left.” I mean at least at the end he just admitted that he threw out ethics for money and capital.
Mass immigration forced on unwilling Western populations by global elites is not a conspiracy theory...
10:10 remember when people scoffed at the anti-gay marriage argument of the "slippery slope"? so my dad was right, basically cool 👌
Every single interview, you bring up Biden's record on labor and you criticize people for not being more supportive of that aspect of his administration and then you literally immediately every single time mention how insufficient everything he did was okay, Biden has probably had quiet, private talks about healthcare or policing, too. doesn't fucking mean anything! I don't CARE about his "actions" vis-a-vis labor! None of the places I worked during his time in office came anywhere close to being unionized. He had absolutely no effect on me, my work, or my paychecks. Can we please stop sucking off this literal rapist anti-integrationist child molesting monster?? holy fucking shit!! he visited the rainforest SUPER COOL DUDE THAT'S AWESOME THEY'RE STILL BURNING IT BY THE METRIC FOOTBALL FIELD BUT HELL YEAH DUDE SLEEPY JOE DID A FUCKING PHOTO OP like I'm really sorry if I'm just proving JJ's point but I think it's extremely telling that this is the ONLY talking point one can use to criticize Biden detractors: that Biden made the appearance of doing something to help the common worker. Like, checkmate, leftists! Awesome 🙄
Canadians obsessed with American politics are some of the most goofy people on earth. This dude is a prime example.
I'd love to see this woman in similar dialogue with the radical left she's calling 'mean girls', I would love to see her talk with an abolitionist.
Hard to side with contemporary democracy and capitalism mythology when those who begin a small business or radical new service simply sell out by accident or choice to the highest bidder who is already wealthy and monopolizing, so as to early retire or move on to something else that is of interest.
The button down syndrome ep
4:24 5x5 hell yeah, i got into that just around the height of the pandemic, been lifting since but went to PPL. As a former skinny dude it was the best intro into the world of lifting. Not as strong as i was then but bigger now than then. I suggest any skinny folks trying to build mass to start with 5x5 to build a foundation and modify to what ever you're after when you have that established.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview but feel like at 58:32, they miss the idea of bands that are albeit less sensational, but still bands that have been together for decades that still have a loyal fan base like a lot of smaller pop punk bands
i feel like millenials on down are also stuck in suspended juvenility because boomers haven't died off. which means they are still holding prominent positions in all aspects of public and professional life, where a few generations ago they assumed these leadership positions. We are in our early 40's and 30's and don't run anything. We are stuck being 20 somethings !!!
This episode was a huge blow to my trust and esteem for Josh.
I get it, but having a different perspective can inform our critiques further of the techno futurist fantasy enjoyers. We can learn from anything, even disconnected bubbles of capital. This dude Keller blows but he definitely is a stand in for tech bro template A,B, or C. Just a thought.
@@ifihadalifeiduseitwisely7589 I am definitely not against hearing different perspectives. I listened to the whole thing. And I'm not even saying this guy shouldn't have been interviewed. I just find it really hard to understand Joshua Citarella's huge endorsement at the end. Daniel Keller said nothing interesting.
@@ifihadalifeiduseitwisely7589 Not a very interesting podcast format. Its also discordant with the vibe he was putting out in the first four episodes. If you want to hear “different perspectives” its not like theres a shortage of tech bros being interviewed without being challenged in their misplaced utopianism. Tons of content out there with that perspective
Also wondering what her actual political position/agenda might be? Does she believe that the millions of working class people who voted for Trump (or did not vote) are actually democratic socialists who just don't realize it yet?
She gets to pretend that she is on a higher moral plane than other people in the "professional-managerial class" (of which she is a member herself). She does a gratuitous hit and run against AOC, whose comments she cherry-picks to support her "point." Her rant actually serves the interest of the actual capitalist class (the tiny minority that actually possesses most of the wealth and power) by promoting (additional) discord between the PMC and the more traditional working class. The actual effect of her "analysis" is to render particularly young people who are alienated and angry politically passive and even more cynical than they already are. This kind of "armchair Marxist" analysis has itself. become a kind of comfortable niche for a small number of "intellectuals,." People were saying this same stuff back when I was in graduate school in the 1970s. She talks about a tiny, righteous minority "wagging its finger" at the rest of the population: she is pretty much talking about herself. Actual effect in the real world (which she purports to be talkiing about): the Trumpers just love this stuff, including those "new right" figures she briefly discusses.
lmao the transition out at 18:05 is hilarious. Josh does NOT want to talk about interviewing little kids.
Leftists are in shambles judging by the comments lmao. Let's hope self-awareness eventually wins out over defensiveness.
This looks like the interviewer is in a hostage video. Why would anyone listen to this ignorant tripe?
she's hideous
Nick land from temu
0:00 was??
10:00 Says he doesn't understand philosophy. Starts referencing Baudrillard ten minutes later! lol.
His arguments and ideas were incredibly narrow and reeking of needing to seem educated, very Peggy Hill pilled. Bro fucking sucks
Fuck! I'm 58 and we were told robots would do our jobs and we'd all have way more lesuire time.
I don't want to isolate myself into an echo-chamber, but do i really want to listen to someone who's just ill-informed and lacking in critical thinking skills? Like, do i really want to spend my time doing this?
I'm post woke
Why is everyone so mad about JJ? I understand some of his points are made without facts backing them up, but he acknowledges this and is willing to be introspective and self critical? See 25:18 Thanks for the podcast
like Josh hasn't heard of other theories of value besides Marxian value theory smfh
As a Teamster, I have to say, Frost has no idea what she’s talking about when it comes to O’Brien. I mean, she is utterly clueless. Later in the interview, she challenges leftists who would reject reforms in order to hurry along the revolution to make that argument to an audience of steel workers. Fair enough. But her take on O'Brien courting the GOP is just as ridiculous. O'Brien is NOT a reformer. A close ally of Hoffa until they fell out, he is a classic conservative business unionist. Her take on his RNC speech mirrors that if the most naive, sycophantic O’Brien loyalists. It makes me wonder what she doesn’t understand.
amber is turning into an old lady before my eyes
Hey Joshua, I really enjoyed Matty's point of view when he talks about the fact that we don't need art when we are dealing with important life issues. But I wanted to ask you what do you think about the story told in Viktor Frankl's book Man's Search for Meaning. He talks about concentration camps inmates that created a little theater inside the camp and the only time they could perform a show was during dinner. It was almost absurd that many inmates chose to go and see the shows instead of eating because it seemed like that need for art and human connection was more important than the only crust of bread they would have ate that day. It feels to me like a humanly truthful argument, it feels right, but do you have any thoughts?
