Humanity does not understand the measure of all things. They think that they do but they do not. They cannot perceive the measurements involved in " boundlessness" and each time that they open up a new field or have a eureka moment they immediately start celebrating as though there is nothing more to know. In this ego state of people thinking that they are "the one" many errors, mistakes and miscalculations are made by the very arrogant, selfish and greedy among us. Often ending in destruction thanks to their egotistical and morronic way of processing information into that which is little understood! It is like watching gold being turned into dross.

I love how utterly clueless J.J. is about the disenfranchisement of the middle class. The working class? Fucking forget it. I'm done. I'm only alive in Canada in 2024 because of rent control. If I lose my lease - and I will, eventually - the only option left for me if I want to continue to afford both a bachelor apartment and food enough to live is to work 80 hours a week. And I'm in my 40s now, with real health problems, and cannot do that. Thank god for MAID, I guess. Incentives? None. Downwardly mobile? I'd love to see one of these yapping heads try to live on 40 fucking grand a year. I really, truly would. Get back to me then, J.J. and tell me more about how you think we're "nowhere close" to the kind of revolution people like you fear.

I just think politics are gay. That's been my honest feeling since I was a teen and I'm in my mid 30s and still feel this way. Multiple times this past election, several people from both sides asked who I voted for and when I finally buckled and said that I didn't vote both parties of people flipped out on me and tried to lecture me on gay ass politic shit and why I should care. It was so fucking boring, like they were explaining their favorite fanfiction to me or something. Just leave me alone man.

7:20 "I understand your argument, we've talked about this before, the Trotskyite to neocon pipeline. There's a long history of people who have moved from left to right as they get older" What "pipeline"? [see below] It must be noted that "Trotskyite" was the term used by the Stalinists during the Great Terror/Moscow Trials (1936-1939) that resulted in the slaughter of up to a million Marxists. Only those ignorant of history and those wanting to endorse the crimes of Stalinism use that term. It is notable how many liberals, conservative, anarchists, pseudo-left, reformists support the claim, only developed by Stalin after Lenin's death in January 1924, that socialism-in-one-country is the logical and necessary continuity of Marx, Engels and Lenin. If they were completely honest they would say: "I don't care how many Marxists Stalin ordered killed or how many lies he told or how much history he falsified, when Stalin said he was always a Marxist we just have to believe him.") --- WSWS: " ... the claim that all those occupying senior posts in the Bush Pentagon are the “children of Trotskyists” is patently false. There are, however, connecting links between the political struggles within the Trotskyist movement more than six decades ago and the neoconservatives of today. They are to be found in particular in the careers of two individuals: the late Max Shachtman and Irving Kristol. The latter is a prominent figure in the right-wing think tank, the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). When, on the eve of the invasion of Iraq, George W. Bush appeared before the AEI to deliver a speech outlining his vision for global military aggression, he began with a verbal tip of the hat to Kristol, who is widely regarded as the “godfather of neoconservatism.” In 1939, as a student at the City College of New York, Kristol joined the Young People’s Socialist League, as the American Trotskyist youth movement was then called. The YPSL was affiliated to the Trotskyist party, then organized as the Socialist Workers Party (SWP). He quickly gravitated to an emerging petty-bourgeois tendency within the party led by James Burnham and Max Shachtman, and in a very short time had followed them in breaking with the SWP. Just before his death, Trotsky led an intense political struggle against these very elements, thereby laying the essential foundations not only for the development of a Marxist party of the working class in the United States, but for the development of the Fourth International worldwide. Both the Fourth International and the Socialist Workers Party had been founded in 1938. By the autumn of 1939, a bitter faction fight had erupted within the SWP precipitated by the outbreak of the Second World War and, in particular, the signing of the non-aggression pact between Hitler’s Germany and the Stalinist regime in the Soviet Union. The faction that emerged in the SWP under the leadership of Burnham and Shachtman took the position that as a consequence of the pact between Hitler and Stalin it was no longer possible to consider the USSR a workers’ state in any sense of the word, and the Fourth International was compelled to repudiate its program of defense of the USSR against imperialist attack. Despite his vehement opposition to the existing Soviet bureaucracy, Trotsky rejected the attempt to equate the USSR, which had emerged as a product of a workers’ revolution, with imperialism in general and the Nazi regime in particular. He stressed that, notwithstanding the abominable crimes of the Stalinist bureaucracy, the social foundations of nationalized industry established by the October 1917 revolution remained. The Soviet Union, he insisted, was a society in transition between capitalism and socialism, its historical fate yet to be determined. His political prognosis was of an alternative character: either the working class would overthrow the bureaucracy through a political revolution and return the Soviet Union to the socialist internationalist principles upon which the 1917 revolution was based, or the bureaucracy would destroy the foundations of the workers’ state and preside over the restoration of capitalism. Tragically, the second variant has been borne out by events. ... " WSWS: The historical roots of neoconservatism: a reply to a slanderous attack on Trotskyism 23 May 2003

1:32:13 JJ McCullough "... there is something that I haven't quite figured out as to why people are just so much more negative ... " The French aristocracy didn't see it coming either. It's someone amazing to watch comfortable upper middle class wonder liberals in September 2024 wonder why people aren't happy with how things are going. There are thirteen uses of the term "culture war", only three mentions of "Gaza", no use of the term "genocide", no mention of the war in Ukraine or the U.S. plans for war with China, no mention of the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, no mention of U.S. debt, no mention of U.S. backed wars. Citarella tacitly concedes that at the promotion of the "culture wars" is because "... the underlying political economic questions are so dense and so difficult to solve ..." (1:34:35). But he doesn't give any suggest as to why. U.S. capitalism is in a desperate struggle to maintain its hegemony over the world economy. Trillions of dollars of profits created by the labor of the working class is at stake. The only way it can do this is using the Pentagon war machine directly or through U.S. armed allies and proxies (e.g. Israel and Ukraine). There is no popular support for this program so censorship, repression and a class war at home is needed. This is why in June 2024 the Supreme Court legalized a presidential dictatorship and the Democrats dropped their already limited references to Trump as a fascist so they can ensure a peaceful transition to his unpeaceful regime. To hear the Marxist assessment of the present crisis start here: Of, by and for the oligarchy: Trump’s cabinet & the restructuring of the American state ua-cam.com/video/SPqify13GUM/v-deo.html

I enjoyed The Seasteaders and appreciate Daniel’s analysis but a few moments struck me. The crypto/AI crew seem to have some very intense blind spots for all their deference to first principles and cool objective logic. Most of the AI data scientists I know are free speech absolutists as well, and seem to just shrug their shoulders and admit that the cost of being really very super free is that we have to accept that women and girls will be destroyed in the digital public sphere by deep fake porn and insane levels of misogyny. All these applicant Sith Lords out here are getting in on the ground floor of the fucking Death Star for lols. It’s delusional to think that in a techno authoritarian hellscape dystopia you will be safe, even if you’ve made a beautiful dollar trafficking in the misery of others. It’s not worth turning a blind eye to the horrific ethics of crypto and AI. Tech really is supremacist patriarchy ascendant, and it will be the bros who justify going along with it all who get us there because why not make a buck while the world burns? Thanks Guys!!!
