    GloFish are not a single species but different genetically modified species, therefore it's not really useful to recommond tankmates specifically for GloFish. Just follow the guidelines for their natural counterparts

    I'd say the majority of us if not all of us in the hobby here in the US absolutely HATE the Bettas in cups at stores. Unfortunately people buy them so I don't see it changing anytime soon. I've been guilty of buying them as well.

    Great video. Been recently to the shop a couple of times, brilliantly family run, you can tell they care about quality and not just the sale. I've caught them testing their water a few times, which million times more than I've ever seen maidenhead aquatics do! I'll call out other shops who don't care for living creatures. I saw fish planet have a whole tank full of half dead fish in the shop, you can tell those who quarantine and those who don't care.

    I think mine is giving birth very soon! I can’t tell if her belly is squared off, but she’s doing the rapid breathing and staying in one spot unless someone bothers her. I can clearly see the babies eyes in her gravid spot. I thought she would be wanting to hide but she’s staying near the surface. Ahhhh I’m so excited!

    As someone that used to think the only plants I could keep alive are realistic looking fake plants (joke is they arent alive to kill), I am shocked my red crypt has done as well as it has in the year and a half I got it free getting started back up with a bunch of vals and dwarf sag. Only thing my red crypt hated was being shaded by water lettuce unless I was able to easily manage it. I think its a crypt wendtii red.

    • @Aquafinity

      crypts are pretty nice, they're pretty hardy once they've settled in

    • @InkedAquatics
      @InkedAquatics 4 дні тому

      @@Aquafinity oh heck yea hardest part of crypts ive learned is the start. Especially crypts that arent green but once you get past that stage, its easily sailing. Year and a half since I got the plant and its still doing really well

    • @Aquafinity
      @Aquafinity 4 дні тому

       @InkedAquatics Another thing I've found to be important is to not drastically change the tank parameters once they've settled in. For instance mine are especially reactive to changes in lighting.

    Based from my experience, pearlweed is the easiest. It's not picky with water parameters and doesn't take too long to acclimate. I have dwarf sag but it's kinda picky with water conditions. Takes too long to acclimate. It takes months for me to start seeing runners.

      My oldest is 5 years old, haven’t had issues yet. The goal is that the broken down waste and organic material will reach the soil and fuel it before it’s depleted. I believe I have achieved that but time will tell

    this was one of the first plants i got in my aquariums and its one of the few i still have. after i got it i found out it can grow upto 6 feet long lol some of mine have grown 3 or 4 feet. they grow to the top of the tank then grow along the top. sometimes it looks really nice and sometimes not so much. it grows and propagates really easy and ive sold some clippings of it over the years

    Just started my tabk with 4 glo tetra longfins 2 glow cory cats and 1 glo shark in my 30 g i read i needed to rub the tabk for a week and add the starter tank liquids to fox the bio load then add a few fish to actually begin the cycle process .. for 30 g tank with the 5 fish and 2 catfish do i need to get a few more fish to promote the cycling process? I also read to hardly feed them anythibg when the tank is new only a few flakes total per fish once daily is this accurate ?

    • @jhndr0nia
      @jhndr0nia 3 дні тому

      No, the cycling takes longer than a week, usually 3-4 weeks if the filter media is new

    Pearlweed is hands down my favorite aquarium plant. It’s inexpensive and hardy. No CO2 needed. I suggest tissue cultures at first then cuttings. It does require regular trimming, strong lighting. It floats, it attaches and roots in soil. It will take over your tank. Works well with floating plants.

    • @Aquafinity
      @Aquafinity 20 днів тому

      Pearlweed can definitely take over quite fast once it settles in. Really nice plant to keep. Thanks for watching!
