Another outstanding video. I enjoy all the new shrimp varieties. Fifty years ago, all you saw in your LFS was ghost shrimps, and no one I knew was breeding them. Take care.
Thanks for the advice! I'm thinking about putting some Skittles in a mature, heavily planted, 4 gallon picture tank. I generally rotate Corydora Fry through it or maybe some special Guppy Fry. I've never kept shrimp before... What is a good temperature parameter? For Skittles...🦐 😁
Hey brother do you know how long a rimless aquarium lasts compared to its alternatives rimed aquarium and acrylic ones. Would be helpful for many people.
The cheaper the animal, the worse the care they receive in my brief experience. You're not really saving money when you end up dragging in parasites and half dead shrimp on borrowed time. They kick it, the others eat it before you find it and now your entire colony is about to be wiped. That said , even at 4 bucks per shrimp, i ended up having one out of five with green algae infestation. If you can , go to a specialized aquarium shop instead of those supermarket-like chains. Instead of buying from large breeding farms with animals sold by weight with calculated loss, they are more likely to be supplied from local breeders who produce low enough numbers to actually care about the animal health. That , and you're less likely to get fun stuff like Green Algae that seems to mostly cross the pond from asia imported shrimps. They're transported by ship over the duration of weeks in poor water conditions. But cheap.

I’m sure quality brand rim tanks would last about the same as others, shouldn’t be much of a difference.
My ghost shrimp are the only shrimp that survived in my tank 😅
Ghost shrimp are the one shrimp I can't manage to keep alive longer then a week lmao
@@stevenbordelon7991 some times when I get them they are already 1y old
ghost shrimp is 6/$1 in tampa, FL
That’s pretty cheap compared to what we’ve got here in California
I had glass shrimp once and they attacked my betta
Interesting, I've never had a ghost shrimp that aggressive before although I do know larger ghost shrimp may sometimes go after small, newborn fish.
