Silent Photography & Hiking In Spring
Springtime is one of my favourite seasons for photography, i really wanted to capture the moment of early spring and bring peace and serenity to the film, to do this I opted not to talk.
Silent photography in the early spring woods is a serene and immersive experience. As the season awakens, the forest begins to hum with a subtle vibrancy. The air is crisp, carrying the faint scent of damp earth and budding foliage. A soft light filters through the canopy, casting gentle shadows on the forest floor carpeted with fresh moss and early wildflowers.
Each step on the trail reveals a new, quiet scene waiting to be captured: delicate blossoms peeking through the underbrush, dew-kissed leaves shimmering in the morning sun, and the intricate patterns of tree bark coming to life with the growth of new mosses. The occasional flutter of a bird or the rustle of small creatures in the undergrowth provides a barely perceptible soundtrack to the stillness.
With a camera in hand, I move silently, becoming part of the woodland tableau. The aim is to capture the essence of spring's quiet arrival-moments that might go unnoticed by the casual observer. Each click of the shutter is deliberate, preserving the beauty of nature's rebirth. Silent photography in this setting is not just about the images but also about experiencing the calm and restorative power of the forest, capturing the soul of spring in every frame. Hope you can relax and enjoy, Peace x

The reeds are a bit of a distraction. I prefer just the tree.
The mist and slight drizzle is what I miss, now that I live in high desert area.
Beautiful Stuart. Borrowdale in Spring can’t be beaten.
Thanks David appreciated comment 👍
This video is like a visual symphony of nature's wonders! The attention to detail and the stunning scenery make it an absolute delight to watch. Great work Stuart
Thanks Buddy, best wishes Stuart
Beautiful tranquil film
Thank you for taking time to comment, means a lot 👍
Brilliant, what a wonderful place. Very nice to see how you work with the compositions of your images.
Thank you so much 😀
Nice one Stuart. Keep them coming.
More to come!
Thank you so much for this! Hoping to visit one day!!❤❤❤
You're welcome
Hi Stu - came across this today and really enjoyed watching it.
Awesome, thank you!
Nice shots but I would prefer them in true black and white, rather than a split tone (duotone) preset.
Thank you for your support, regards Stuart
videography and photography are always top shelf. Nothing shouts elegance and class like a black and white photo, either. Cheers!
TGI thank you for tuning in ❤️ and your support 👍
I’ve spent many happy hours photographing around Alnmouth. It’s a fantastic location
Thanks Rob, it truly is a wonderful place my friend 📸 ❤️
I very much enjoyed the photographic outing. You do an excellent job of making the viewer feel as if he/she is coming along with you. Thank you again!
Kirk thank you for your continued support, it means a lot ❤️ 📸
I can never get bored of boat scenes. Nice captures Stuart shame about the tide. They look stunning in B/W. 👍
Thank you so much Les, appreciate your comment 👍
Many thanks for sharing your ideas and showing your photos, we are heading here next week, can't wait. I'm going to have all my gear with me so can't wait to see what I manage to capture
You're very welcome Robert, hope you enjoy it as much as I did, it's a wonderful place to relax and enjoy your photography 😊
It's always a pleasure to see one of your vids land on my timeline. Such gentle and peaceful videos. I love your style of photography too, and my last trip to the Northumberland coast I tried to recreate one of your photos at Bamburgh. It was a small hut in the dunes looking out to sea, your was a better photo but I got a few good shots of that little hut. I really need to return to Northumberland (sadly now minus my motorhome) but I need to book a cottage or something like that. Thanks for continuing to post these up.
Hi Turbo thank you for your continued support and message, it's a place I love so much, a lovely place to relax and forget about everything ❤️ 📸

Stuart well worth the wait and as someone who lives at the other end if the country thankyou for some wonderful photographs and giving me my Lake District fix. Must get back up north again sometime, keep up the great work
Thanks Doug
What a stunning location. I'm definitely adding that to my list. That waterfall was amazing but as you showed it takes a bit of work to fine tune the composition
Hi Stuart I've only just seen that I've missed a few of your vlogs so I'm catching up with them now 😊 I visited this location in October last year it's been on my Bucket List for years and it was great to finally get there. We were treated to some fairly nice light and there was a guy in the Bothy with a fire going it was so warm in there.
Welcome back! 😊
It has been a while but worth the wait, another lovely vlog!
Thank you Ian
Brilliant scenery my friend, views are just amazing here! Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you buddy 🙂
Thanks boss, for allowing me to live vicariously through your lens.
You're very welcome TGI ❤️
Good to see you out and about Stuart, nice images enjoyed the video 👍
Thank you Martin it's a pleasure 😊
Very nice
Glad you enjoyed it James 👍
Very good, well worth the watch.
Thank you Scout 🙂
Just the tree and it's reflection for me..
Thank you Nick
I agree with a few others that the reeds take away the focus from the tree . Fantastic images though
Thank you for your contribution 👍
this is a perfect day! that is the weather i live for.
Thank you Frank me too 🙂
Lovely frames
Thank you Pat ☺️
Just discovered you today those images are absolutely lovely… I have never liked black and white until I saw this video
Thank you Perry that's a lovely comment 😊
the reeds are distracting and take away from the real subject you were shooting
Thanks for your opinion 👍
w/o the reeds is simpler and more to my liking.
That one shot doesn't conform to the Rule of Whatever of Composition!! 😅 loved the photos, will therefore subscribe!
Vlog OK. Your cannot be understood sometimes. Maybe moving the microphone?
Okay thank you for letting me know Hope to see you again
Both great shots with a really timeless edit, I personally prefer the second shot. I feel it draws the eye in abit more, more depth. Mint video 🤙🏼
Hi Luke thanks for your lovely comment appreciate it
Great effort! Lovely location and conception!
Thank you so much hope to see you again
Love B&W. Both pics looked great but prefer w/o the reeds. I would have taken a pic of the wire fence posts some how looked good from here. @wb2pics
Thanks for your comment Mike, happy new year 🙂
Happy new year!! @@stuartmarsden4743
You find such elegant beauty in the simplest of scenes. I don’t think your white vignetting was needed. It takes away from the authentic, natural sense of the photos. Greet eye.
Thank you Paul, merry Christmas to you 🙂
well done mate !
Thank you! Cheers!
Good work !
Good one Stuart. I did that walk in early Oct the weather was atrocious and only managed Black moss pot before I retreated to the pub with everything wet through.Look forward to more of your adventures.
Thank you Colin, I love this place ❤️
Just happened across your vlog Stuart, really impressed with the way you go about your work.Honister is one of my favourite valleys, especially in those conditions.Wonderful last shot, well done.
Thank you Buddy
