  • Welcome to my latest landscape photography UA-cam video, where I take you Torridon in North West Scotland.
As I travel through the picturesque Scottish Highland countryside In my VW campervan I can't help but anticipate what landscape photography lies ahead in this beautiful part of Scotland, as it's my first time to this destination the journey fills me with excitement, my mind churning with ideas about compositions before even place the tripod legs on the hallowed ground of Torridonian.
Not all goes well though in this second episode of my landscape photography journey in Torridon, when something goes wrong 450 miles away from home, there's nothing much you can do about it but to move forward and be positive and embrace the beauty in this fantastic location for landscape photography.
So come along for the ride and join me as I discover the beauty and magic of Torridon through the eyes of a man, a van, & no plan !

Thanks for the video Stuart, a pleasant watch. I thought the note of disappointment a worthwhile add, to let us mortals know we're not successful every time. Keep up the good work.

    8:00 Imagine
    Shoot at 18mm, not 34.
Extend the tripod legs not at all, beyond making it level.
    Get as close as practical.
Do not point the camera up or down.
    Focus on the tree.
    Shoot.
In post, crop the bottom off, at a guess a third, but you would have it in front of you.
That's pretty much what I would do. I expect the little trees to be much more dominant. I would also look at black and white.
There are good photos to be made, it might take some determined effort to find them.
You need to sort out the volume in your videos too. If I watch a new YT video with the settings I had to use for yours, I could blow a speaker out.
