  • It's that time of year again for landscape photography in the autumn, everyone's favourite time of year for landscape photography. I take a wonder around Elterwater and Clappersgate Bridge for some lovely autumnal landscape photography photographs along with some beautiful tarns and riverside locations. I tend to come a little earlier for autumn landscape photography to try to keep the full array of greens, yellows and oranges for my landscape photography shots. Of course Lottie my dog is along for the ride also loves landscape photography too, I can just tell :)

Hi Richard thanks for getting in touch, thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it. Lovely location indeed, think I'll do another video of this location in early spring when the greens are just coming through, that would be lovely time I think. Hope to see you on the next video. Kindest regards Stuart

Great video. It may not have worked this time, but if your starter ever sticks, put the vehicle in a high gear and rock it backwards and forwards. It moves the starter round to another position and try starting again.

Hi thanks for the advice, It's a pity the RAC guy didn't know this, he tried to hit it with a hammer but didn't work and tried a jump start but hard work with only 2 of us pushing a campervan, so no garages were open at night, so had to wait till the morning unfortunately. regards Stuart

Loved the bridge shot early in the video and the one upstream by honister pass.
I think you are right about preferring early autumn over the full autumn for colours. Autumns late this year for sure.

Hi Carl, yes definitely late this year, the river on the Honister pass is the best I've seen it in a long while, really inspiring place to photograph for sure

Hello Stuart. Love your videos. Sorry to hear about you calamity, glad you still went out to bring us this video, thank you. You’ve rekindled my love with landscape photography, got to get out there again. Your photos are beautiful. Keep it up! Love your dog too, I have the same kind and will be taking him out with me.
Can you please share what equipment you use?

Hi thanks for your lovely message I really appreciate your input. Equipment wise, got a nikon d850, 18-35mm g lens and a 70-200mm F4. I only use 2 lens and the moment but I'm going to invest in some older manual focus lens's such as 50mm 1.8 pancake lens and a rare 35-70mm f3.5. Hope to see you on the next video. Kindest regards Stuart

New subscriber here. I lobe these types of channels and I wish you all the success. As a vision impaired / legally blind photographer, landscapes are things I really enjoy, but really struggle to create due to the vast distances involved in scenes. I'm more adept at street and travel...or anything where I can make out strong patterns, textures and contrasts. These channels allow me to live through the eyes of some really great artists. Keep up the awesome work and thank you.

Thanks so much for your lovely comment, I think it’s fantastic that you do what you do I love street photography too but don’t get enough time, it’s great that you can use places like UA-cam to follow landscape photographers on their endeavours. I really appreciate your subscription and I Hope I can give out quality content for you and other photographers that are visually impaired kindest wishes Stuart

Hi Stuart (new subscriber here) you were a suggestion from You Tube ☺ I took a couple of exactly the same images as you, one last week of the white property with the backdrop of hills that has 'Stop and take a photo' written all over it and the last river image where you wanted more water, thankfully I got it with loads of water last October. When you are at Yew Tree Tarn I can't believe you didn't visit one of the best locations in the Lake District - Holme Fell it sits above Yew Tree Tarn but is more easily accessed from Hodge Close quarry. I'd definitely recommend that location if you've not been before. Great for Silver Birches

Hi Paul thanks so much for your message I really appreciate it, It did catch my eye as i was passing by reminded me of Switzerland the house and mountain backdrop. Love the river down Honister pass too, glad you got your shot of this amazing place. I do agree about Holme fell truly an awesome place to take photographs but I have a dog who's 14 years old and have to consider her where ever I go, she's just not healthy enough to go to long distances over undulating terrain, you'll notice all my videos are easy to access locations because of her health. She's my number one priority bless her. Hope to see you on the next one. Kindest regards Stuart
