Hi guys, Just wanted to share my experiences in my welding career, I've been in the oil industry since 2004.. I started as a pipeline labor hand for 2 years, then I broke out as a rig welder in 2006.. I was welding drilling rigs for one year, then I jumped into the pipeline, and since then, I've been a pipeliner.. Thanks for tuning in to my channel. I hope you learn something.. God bless

Gus what is that Ball socket you used for your umbrella? I like that.Maybe do a thing on it?
@@warrenjones744 It's a steel bearing ball..
@@warrenjones744 www.ebay.com/itm/303009997078?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=z_6fAoCPRhK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=e0L57U3hRI2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@warrenjones744 I think a 2½ bearing ball fits perfectly on a 3" standard pipe or so.. I'm not sure
@@gustavojr841 👍
There are so many things to like here. As someone who does not as a rule not fabricate pipe except as to use a structural member. Or some drain line in a screen plant etc... As a 45 year veteran of the construction, forestry and aggregate world this is fascinating. I see all kinds of stuff advertised over the years to hold pipe in various positions etc....all expensive looking Apparently the same simple stuff I use for my work will do just fine. Counterweight....Again brilliant, simple and effective. Cheers man Edit: your order of operations was interesting, instructive and complete logical.
Thank you so much man
Ha! I use rear axles bearings from front wheel drive cars for torch cart and other rolling stock projects. Mounts are so easy to fabricate. The hammer union idea is brilliant. cheers
Is the gasoline machine better somehow for your application? Pipe and pipeline welding is a mystery this New England machinery repairman and fabricator. (all I do know is Lincoln DC generators burn sticks ohhhh so smooth) I have had or used many engine drive welders over the years and never found a gasoline engne powered one to be as nice or a trouble free as a diesel. Even the old super reliable continentals When carrying extra fuel, I don't like having flammable gasoline on board. one more thing to guard against fire.
@warrenjones744 In terms of welding, I think they are the same, one's you set up a good temperature for each pass, they should weld pretty much the same.. lots of guys think that some machines run smoother than others, and I think that's not true, for example.. If you set 100 amps in a Miller machine and set 100 amps in a Lincoln machine, do you think there would be a difference? I tried this once, and there's no difference.. in a Miller machine, it is easy to set it on 100 amps because you have a digital meter. In a Lincoln machine, it is hard to set it in 100 amps if you don't have a digital multimeter tester .. Thanks for watching my videos bro and thanks for commenting!!😉
@@gustavojr841 Thanks for the reply Gus. I'm going to check out more of your videos. I am recovering from surgery and have some time. Next up is the roll out wheel construction. Anyway I can see from halfway across the country or you are a good solid craftsman and take pride in your work. I enjoy your videos very much. and Yes I subscribed for more! I don't do much pipe work, but next time I weld on a flange or tee I am going to use some of what I see here. You don't really need any special tools just basic stuff. I like that. Well done sir.
Hermosa Trabajo. Tendré que empezar a sazonar mis comentarios con algo de Spanglish. UA-cam seems to not send me your stuff once you switched over to Spanish.

I wasn't able to watch the whole video, but I will later. What size leads do you use?
@orlandoherreraoutdoorstexa7353 I have around 75' foot of negative lead and 100' foot of positive lead and both of them are #1 of thickness
@@gustavojr841 do you use a whip at the end. That is some expensive line. 3.58 a foot. But that's what it takes.
@orlandoherreraoutdoorstexa7353 Yes, I always put 6 feet, and through the use, I end up cutting out a little at a time because behind the stinger, it wears out pretty quickly and the stinger starts to get hot so that's a good sign for repairs
@gustavojr841 thanks for passing on that info.

Excellente!!! Great video! thank you for showing and explaining all the ins and out of that great truck. I love the slide out work space. Truly innovative. I really miss that life.
