Really any dust from concrete, sand, stone, wood, etc can contain Silica and/or just dangerous when samsung, grinding,, cutting & chipping.

😅 Suzi, i think that your ye old kitchen door could reflect your personality by being painted with a rust preventing paint in YELLOW. White wrought iron and once decorative glass scrubbed make a decision about painting that white as well??? But, one drawback is that a pastel colour might in time show the rust again...🙄 So prep very well, whatever you decide!!😊

I would pick up the shade of green in the glass

I think stick to the gentle old colour, too bright will soon become too harsh on the eye 😊

Maybe an olive green for your door would compliment your lovely courtyard.

Good morning, Suzi, a stunning vintage blue, with white painted wrought iron, will pop against the stone. What a lovely design ! Our very old house was traditional white, so the monument dark green worked well, but the blue sky and stone and " the old kitchen" is a feature. Some lovely shades online if you type in " vintage blue colours". Your gueridon must be made of a good wood, as it has that pretty detail. Glad you preserved it. Be interesting to know which varieties of vines you have as the previous owner made wine. The trend now is to use different field grapes adding a sweet one as well. Do you envision, once you have cared for them and they are producing more of a crop, to have a boutique winery? Or sell your grapes to local producer? How special is that! Ps, your Wedgwood blue fireplace colour is lovely!🌼🍇🥂pps, and dont forget a big vintage door handle!!

How about putting a small bathroom next to kitchen and the small room in back could be the bedroom. Then that would leave the rest for small living room and dining room.

Ola’Suzi have you check to see if that paint is not lead paint you might need to check it to see if it’s ok to taking the paint off the walls it’s the old part of the house please put your mask on honey please get that paint tested for lead at your paint store please ✌️👍🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️

You really should be wearing a safety mask to protect yourself from lead paint and asbestos.

If, like me, you are a certain age, it's heartwarming to see the white paint scraped off the old kitchen chimney to reveal a faded lavender colour, and that pant is probably a colour wash. Can't say it was ever my favourite colour, but it is so reminiscent of the 1970s. Yes, to keeping the kitchen doors the same colour, like a grey green.

Remove that piece of glass from the door then paint it and then put it back with new putty. Very simple and easy job to do. Should be videos of doing that on UA-cam.

If you don’t need the fireplace for heat you could either put really big candles in it or put some logs in with some battery powered fairy lights .

Raquel is right. Please consider a mask. Dust is very insidious, and you will be inhale small amounts down into your lungs. You certainly work hard. Well done

The plant stand is lovely. Maybe place the suculent on the bottom part and place a bigger plant on the top ❣️😊 The fireplace looks much better. You did a great job with the cleanup. I woukd suggest painting the door a yellow mustard color. Hugs to Beijos ❣️🐈❣️ Relax at camp site 👍🥰👍

i love the blue spec patina on the fire place chimney, creates an old feeling, i would not render that but seal it with a light stone sealant

I think your pretty painted toes are attracting kitty LOL. I had a stray ginger cat show up at my property one time. He loved sleeping on my porch in my chair. I let him, started feeding him and calling him Rojo Bonito. Then, every time I'd try to leave the house or come back inside, he would start to bite the tops of my feet. I had to start carrying a tennis racquet with me when I go outside just to gently nudge him away from my feet LOL

I would change the door glass to clear. And just put a poly on top of the fireplace and keep that beautiful blue patina!

Hi Suzi. Just a thought. Are you planning to add any windows in the old kitchen? If not, you could change the glass/glazing in the door (though really pretty) to transparent one. It would brighten up the interior 🌞.

Put this in Google and it will tell you what you can use Briwax for "what can I use Briwax furniture wax for"

Just sand of all old varnish off, get a decent furniture wax and apply, neutral Briwax or finishing wax, you can use a cloth or brush to apply, if you use a cloth scoop some wax in your hand so your body heat melts it a little to make it go further, you can even use on stone or metal with a brush to reduce dust or rust, it will look darker at first but go lighter, keep the cloth you use in the tin, a 5kg tin will cost but is cheaper in long run, you can even put it on Leather, but I use cheap hand cream for shoes, bags and gloves, enjoy

I’d paint the doors a leaf green to bing the garden in, or black, or also depending what colour your internal walls will be , so it “flows” . I saw the inside of the door is green ….some lovely green tiles in the hearth perhaps? I’m loving watching this , it’s so exciting 🥰

Suzi A small cheap shop vac would be great to suck up the dust as you hold the hose next to where you are scraping and using a wire brush. That way you will avoid a lot of the airborne dust. Wear a mask girl God knows 2hat you are breathing. One thing i'm kind of shocked at is when you had the house redone that you didn't have a door cut to that old kitchen area. Must be you never really intended to use that area when you had the house redone or maybe you just didn't want to spend the money when you had the house redone which I can totally understand. But that is a nice big room and will be a nice spot in there for guests to stay.

it might be better to use the blue you used in the pool and that would give it some uniformity and brighten up that corner
