- I've started painting the kitchen cupboards, the septic tank is ready, and all the tiling has been grouted. And furniture has arrived! Things are getting really exciting now. I give a project update of what is left to do and can it all get done in one week? Please do tell me whether you think it is possible in the comments.

The color is beautiful. I like it a lot. The green is such a lovely green. The white does seem a bit thick, but I am not an expert. Can you use a small roller? It would probably be easier on you. Progress has happened very quickly. I know you must be rapt with that. Your home and property is beautiful. Brava.
The problem with rollers in a small space is that they don’t get into the corners so you end up using a paintbrush as well. It seems to have worked out ok 😀💕

Thank you, Suzi for sharing your trip to Tomar. Another lovely memory for you. I think give the Reno another two weeks! Kitchen tap and drainage, pipes going where? The plumber still has lots to connect, electrician not so much. Sliding doors very nice and touch ups and snag list. Write it all down and tick it off, so none forgotten! Enjoy the completion inside and new growth outside! Especially the red rose in full bloom!!💐🐝🐈🐈Cape Town.

Love the hotel you stayed in With all the water. That town was beautiful and the ornate. Architecture on that church was just amazing. Thanks for showing us all that. 10:17 a foam roller would help. I think primer is sticky to make sure it covers well.

Don’t forget to seal your grout to prevent stains. 😊 I love the cabinet color. I love the sandy color of your lime plaster. It’s blends very nicely with the stone. Still very bright and airy. Saludos desde California.❤

Susie, make a list of unfinished things. Would suggest you make sure they correct the things you are not able to do: plumbing,windows on roof, sliding doors, bathroom etc. And make sure you are there to monitor every movement. I watch a lot of videos and once they leave, they will not come back. Or if you have not paid them in full then wait until they finish. Be patient and if it takes a little longer it will not matter. Good luck to you. Beautiful property and lots of potential. Lots of love from Florida.
Absolutely agree with your comment Angelica. I have the list already. I am not concerned how long it takes. The builder wants to get the job finished now so he gets his final payment 😀

Hello from Rhode Island, the smallest state in the USA. For reference, we're located between Boston and New York. I was born in a tiny village outside Porto de Mós in the Leiria district. Love that Tomar was the headquarters of the legendary knights Templar. Sounds magical! Good job finding reliable tradesmen in Portugal, it's not easy. Not unusual that they don't show up on Friday, sometimes Monday too, especially if there's a feast in town 😄. Mad respect for what you are doing! 🥰🇵🇹
I know Porto de Mos as I used to live in Leiria. The builders have been very reliable but probably because the company is run by a English man 😂

Hi Susi lovely watching your bldg. Have never seen that decorative wood used in your trim in your bedroom area. It I’d gorgeous even without the Linseed oil. Can you tell us what the name of the tree is? Please make a list of everything you want done so your builders know they have to cross off every thing before they are completely finished. They will appreciate it to as it means they don’t need to make a lot of return trips to do things they may have forgotten. I am living in Georgia USA.
It's all looking stunning. But maybe allow another month before completion.

I'm a big green fan too, great choice. It's not going to be long before you are fully moved in and I am so envious. Just one thing I missed though, the doorway on the outside next to the bedroom, is that a useable space that can be incorporated into the house, for some reason I felt like it could have been a bathroom...
It’s the old kitchen and one day in the future I hope to turn it into a self contained unit for friends to stay in. 😀

Hi, ideally a top coat of white primer and two coats of colour layers.
I’m using a special chalky paint that doesn’t need a primer. But has a wax coat put over the top of the paint. It’s looking good 😀💕

Kira, that’s great that you are looking to buy land and I’m so glad my videos have been helpful. I want to buy traditional Portuguese homeware and love a bargain. They have plenty of shops here to choose where you buy things. It’s all a balance of quality and price. Olx is a great resource for buying second hand. It’s like market place. I will talk about furnishings in a later video as well as costs. 🙏💕
Oh my God, it's so darn gorgeous! Surely they will be able to finish next week, if not, maybe just a couple of extra days. That wood is warping a bit because it may be still wet, or there is a lot of humidity, or something. The burning thing they did should have helped dry the wood out. Not to mention have an amazing effect. Anyway, I can't wait to see the finished result. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦

Absolutely fabulous so far, I think it will be very close to finished at the end of the week. Maybe you could mention how long the conversion has taken when everything is done as I have lost track of time but it has been interesting. Best wishes.
Hi Madeline, it’s taken four and a half months. Probably 5 by the time it’s completed. Then I will be doing projects on my own outside in the courtyard. It’s going to be fun 😀💕
My husband said you need a special mdf primer sealer otherwise the pain may chip off, that’s if the wood mdf
He’s shouting mix your paint and you need a smaller brush 😅 One week no, 3-4 weeks work we think

Even small jobs can take so much longer than you expect so no I don’t think it’ll all be done! Great scenes of your birthday travels. It'll be lovely when it's done but I'd be hitting the wine bottle every night if it was me.
Good luck with getting all the popped wood fixed properly, just as well the builders are still on site to see their handiwork needing attention. Can't see how the electric cable could be moved above the worktop as there's no access above the timber that I can see.
It’s quite a list. It can be a little stressful at times but I am detached from it as I’ve got my own space to retreat to. To move the cable is a matter of removing the board and cutting a new hole for it and filling the existing hole. 😀💕

Lovely shade of green. Where is the wood burner going? Will builders need to cut hole in roof for wood burner outlet or is there a chimney somewhere?

The wood burner is going in the living room area. They are going to have to make a hole in the wall. Don’t want to jeopardise the integrity of the roof. It’s a harder job to go through the wall but a better one 😀
