    HI another great video Rob. This is Robert here you helped me out the other day reg a bentone burner, this is my wifes laptop so shes now subscribed as well. I had to go back out to that boiler again today and did what you told me to do ie new transformer and all i had was a 830 control box i took off a spare burner I had so I stuck that on. Just curious her capacitor is supposed to be 3 microfarads and hers measured 2.4. I had a 4 microfarad in the van could i have used that or would it damage the motor. I didnt put the 4 on so i just left the old one in it as i wasnt sure. Anyway her burner is firing like a dream now all thanks to you mate so i cant thank you enough. Just like to know if i could have stuck a 4 on or did I do the right thing by leaving it. strangely enough she had a clear plastic tiger loop and I agree with you about seeing the oil in it. Thanks again and take care.

      Hi. I would not advise a 4 UF as it would work but may damage the motor eventually. Thanks for another sub and you are welcome. Have a good rest of your week!

    Ah, what a breeze of fresh air!!.....Young, good looking talent in front of the camera for a change!!.........The English Rose, fair of skin & inherent good looks. Talented too, how on Earth Bizzy Izzy dear, how can you work with such a rabble of Bobers??!! It’s clear to see, the terrible twins have not polished up their act one jot!! In fact, if anything their skiving & frankly, disgusting behaviour has escalated! Rob, still enjoying the first flushes of marital life, the honeymoon period... where his wife is keenly awaiting his return from work, with a kiss & 3 course slap-up dinner. That’s changing shortly matey, it’ll be beans on toast & cold shoulder, if you return from the Pub Drunk & piss in the wardrobe!! And Lee, poor Lee, he always looks like a Rabbit with eyes caught in the Headlights or he’s slightly constipated, from failing to include enough roughage on his Sandwiches. So, young Izzy, take my advice, get out now. I see dark days ahead. I can see you being roped into getting your hands covered in Kero.......Or, even worse, administrating assistance with blocked drains!! As always I send out my luv to Karen, her smile will always stir my loins❤❤ Thanks to everyone, as always an interesting watch👍👍

    Great video again. Just wondering is the 832 control box only meant for commercial because you mentioned it’s 2 stage lifting 1 coil and then a 2nd coil. Is it ok on a domestic burner with just a single coil and could it be replaced with an 830 as the burner has an intermittent fault and I’m suspecting it’s the control box.cheers another superb and informative video again. I

    • @BartonOilBurnerServices
      @BartonOilBurnerServices 3 дні тому

      Hi. The 832 can be on some 2 stage pumps that are on the slightly bigger firebirds. always hady to keep one on the van. If a 832 is on a boiler but only 1 coil then you only need a 830. What burner is it and what is it doing? Rob

    • @robertpeters8531
      @robertpeters8531 3 дні тому

      It’s a Worcester greenstar utility boiler with a Bentone burner 1998, 15-19 kw. The burner has a black plastic housing jutting out underneath the control box for air adjustment. It fired up totally fine when I was there, no issues whatsoever but she says it’s been playing up since the 12th July. It’s went to lockout and she’s pressed it and away it’s went but on Sunday night when she pressed the lock out the motor went but no ignition, and then one time there was nothing when she pressed the lock out. Worked like a dream for me today. The coil had been changed in 2020 by someone else her previous service guy. I know Bentone can be temperamental reg the coil so I fitted a new one for her anyway. Now the capacitor is 2.5 microfarads but I thought since motor going it’s ok or is it, I’m not so sure now. As I said her control box is an 832 EGDB I think. I have an 830 satronic but I’m really not sure if that’s the root cause. Anyway if you have any suggestions that would be much appreciated. I used to watch MJ Tiff plumbing but I think he’s out the window now I’ve found you. I can’t believe you got back so promptly. I’m just a we Irish fella working on my own with no mentor to turn to, cheers lol.

    • @BartonOilBurnerServices
      @BartonOilBurnerServices 3 дні тому

      @@robertpeters8531 ok so the charge on the capacitor is to low so even though it works now , it will not when the wether changes and you will be back! The fault is the transformer not always working because it has been over heated by the control box. The control boxs are known for getting tired and holding the spark on to long which then damages the transformer. So stick a 830 and EBI transformer on it and all will be good ! ( Hopefuuly!) Double check electrodes and leads are ok as well and also a good nozzle is in. Then fully set up and you will look a HERO!. Hope this helps and good luck. Rob

    TBH I would of contacted WB for a fixed price repair, as it covers 3 major parts and unlimited minor/small parts, so with the ex vess, mtr and control box, plus more cost effective for the cust. but everyone has the own approach. (the boiler you were working on looked like the room sealed version so it will not have a post purge board). interesting vid tho. and such dedication.

    • @BartonOilBurnerServices
      @BartonOilBurnerServices 5 днів тому

      Hi. The customer contacted them and they were not interested in it as not a regularly serviced boiler. Also the filter was blocked solid and Worcester do not touch filters as we have been called to many before just to check a filter! I do agree it is a good idea to do this on some occasions though. Have a great week.Yes also room sealed! Thanks for the great comment also! Rob

Absolutely brilliant keep the videos coming. Any chance you could do a video on a firebird service as we’ve a lot of them over here.

  • @robertpeters8531
    @robertpeters8531 9 днів тому

    That was an excellent video. Thanks for sharing. Did you use the Riello burner that was on the firebird into the Grant is that why you used the extra air diffuser and the serrated gauge plate because you went from a 40 kw to a 26kw. I’ve never seen or heard of those tools, very interesting and I take it that’s a low nox burner. Is there much difference in servicing the low nox burners to a normal RDB burner. Thanks again I’ve just discovered your channel and it’s a god send. So much to learn there really is.

    • @BartonOilBurnerServices
      @BartonOilBurnerServices 5 днів тому

      Hi. Thanks for the comment and welcome on board! The burner on the Grant was the burner with the new boiler not the firebird one. The little tools comes with all new low nox burners on Grants. The extra air plate etc was also in the kit. The boiler was pre set a bit high hence i dropped the output required. The low nox burners are not any diff to service than the normal Riello RDB just check the nozzle flame ring as required. Have a good week. Rob

    Interesting how it should be done. I am wondering how my grant currently has clean , cold water, leaking and the heat exchanger has megatons of soaking soot and or water on each baffle with some of them corroded, pitted and a couple in two halves. Every year someone turns up and brushes and vacuums, so what's gone wrong?

      Hi. Thanks for the comment. Its a job to tell with out pictures or looking but sounds like you have a few issues there. I would get your local Oftec engineer to look at it.

    Very entertaining and informative, as always. I'm fascinated by the skills required to install such essential systems. Hope you all have a good weekend and your Asthma calms down quickly with some rest and Lee's knee gets better soon.

    Firstly, I hope everyone is feeling better. Not being 100% is a curse when you’re busy. My best advice; though difficult, have a Duvet Day, loads of fresh Orange Juice, snort Obis Oil, plenty water & Max Strength Cold Meds. Viva Espana!!......C’mon Spain!!.... If Engerland win the Euros we’ll never hear the end of it!! It’s like 66, they bribe a Russian Linesman & boom, we’re still hearing about a jammy win, every Engerland game! The twin burner Rayburns are the work of the devil!!.....Every single one we fitted was 💩💩 Builder we worked for, against my advice, fitted one. Two years latter he admitted I was right & scrapped it. We tip for Lee, he looks a lovely bloke, how he ended up working with you Pirates - Gawd alone knows!! Boring Joist then threading Plastic through them, rap the pipe in the Joist with DPC. It kills all the creeping noises. Tell Ryan not to Nick that Rayburn, it ain’t worth it son!! Love to Busy Izzi, Karen & Ben. Anyone else, you know who you are!! Dick Puller, your favourite Jock!!❤❤❤

      Morning mate. We are all still a bit rough and that was not from the old shandy as lets be honest you were always safe in knowing Spain would win.🤣 That Rayburn was a bit tricky to remove . In the end brut force from myself and not a little tickle did the job ! He did not nick the rayburn as it was to heavy 🤣 Take care mate and great to here from you! xxx😍

    How can you tell the diffrence if its the cobtrol box or the motor thsts faulty?? Thanks

    • @BartonOilBurnerServices
      @BartonOilBurnerServices Місяць тому

      Hi. Thanks for the comment. Normally if it is the box then the box smells and the motor is totally dead and the fuse has blown . If the boiler just humms or is noisy then it tends to be the motor. Hope this helps. Rob
