STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Patch 7.4: 'Chains in the Dark' - Fanmade Trailer (spoilers)
7.4 'Chains in the Dark' released for Star Wars: The Old Republic released a couple weeks ago. I really enjoyed playing through the new story and doing all the new content but I felt the official trailer released on the official swtor account didn't highlight many of the new things added (such as the new daily hub, gearing changes, or the new world boss) so I made my own trailer, I hope you all like it!

After being blown away by developer Mimimi's previous stealth strategy games (Desperados 3 and Shadow Tactics) I couldn't wait to jump into their new title Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew! My expectations were extremely high and Shadow Gambit, for the most part, delivered. Shadow Gambit has quickly become my favorite Mimimi game and a contender for my favorite game of all time. That said the shi...

Spark the Electric Jester 3 - An Overlooked Masterpiece
Переглядів 8 тис.Рік тому
Spark the Electric Jester 3 is a game that took me completely by surprise. I wasn't expecting this unassuming indie game to become one of my all time favorite games in just a couple of days. The game is heavily inspired by the early 3D sonic games and attempts to build on the adventure formula created in those games, and it succeeds with flying colors. Spark 3 is brilliant 3D platformer in its ...

I feel like that video of Hyperath Fleet was a lot of our gateway drug into this series. Absolutely phenomenal games.
Idk this doesn't really scratch the Adventure itch for me at all. It feels way too different, but I think that's a good thing because the game can stand on its own. I still can't decide if I like it, but I'm glad it exists nonetheless.
The beat em up areas have a potential to be even better lowkey
Dailyhubs fun? lol no way. Most boring grind ever for years now. Same with planetary heroic missions.
Only fun is Flashpoints and that's really not enough to pay for sub.
It got a switch port recently, maybe more people are looking into it now
I just want, what was done for the sonic formula here in the spark games, to be done for PSO.
I love when people tell about their favorite games idk why
your voice acting needs improvement but the video is funny
While I believe Mimimi games are the best in the genre, I'd recommend giving War Mongrels, and their latest 63 Days, both well worth playing for anyone that enjoys this genre.
check out new stealth tactics game called Sumerian Six, having a lot of fun with it.
Jesus what the fuck happened with creds. I was fairly rich back in 2017-18 and I only have about 80 mil
I just bought Shadow Tactics: Shogun after watching this video, and it's so perfect! Stealth at its peak! ❤ I used to love Space Marshals 2 for mobile, but Shadow Tactics is truly something else. Looking forward to Desperados 3 in the upcoming sales.
Spark the Electric Jester 3 is a fun speed running game, but if you want challenging and engaging platforming, you won't find that here. Most levels are identical to each other ie. Lack of unique stage gimmicks. The platforming challenger is the same from front to back and the only difference in difficulty is the enemy placement. And the combat is ...serviceable. it's nothing amazing. All enemy ai isn't very engaging other than Flint (Guardian). Id say, this game is fun but it does get boring on repeat playthrough unless youre speed running it, which is fun, but ONLY for speedrunning
Clown take
Great Video, I love these as well.😻🌮🌮🌮

I dunno if anyone else has commented it, but there were a fifth Commandos game called Commandos: Strike Force. It moved on from the isometric view to a first person view tho and you only got to play as three characters (the green beret, the spy and the sniper).
Play it for the stories.
Spark, the game Sega doesn't want to make
Struggling to see how you consider this to be a masterpiece when you have issues with the combat and entire levels. That sounds like a decent chunk of the game.
Because the combat isn’t nearly as much the focus of the game as the platforming. And the weakest levels are often really short.
I'm a subscriber since it was launched and being a veteran SWTOR player, I have no regret at all. For me this game 'happened to me' in a good way. It helped me mentally through some difficulties times, It gave me new purposes, perspectives and more awareness, And the most important thing: I made new friends for life, both irl & online. It was, and still is the best investment in improving and stabilizing my quality of life. Yes, I agree on the clunkiness and some of the other minor defects you speak off. But you'll hardly notice these little flaws, so they are easilly ignored. Besides, that's also the charm, as there are no perfectly produced games. So, my answer to your question "Is it worth playing?" If you play2enjoy and play4fun and also want to experience a good story? Yes! Totally! Without a doubt! It's a MMSORPG - a Massive Multi-SOLO Online Role Play Game
I logged in today for first time since 3 months after launch. Have a few lvl 50s still in the game. No idea what to do now though so will create a new chatacter and learn it all again. I enjoyed it on release and just became sort of retired so have loads of time to enjoy the whole story again and loads of new stuff I missed.
Too boring and couldn’t finish it.
I don't think that the stealth genre is dead or dying. There are many of us that like all the planning that comes with it. It's just that most companies are making first person shitters, without personality, so the kids can bug the parents to buy them such brainless games. Stealth goes hand in hand with patience. I prefer to play The Sims 4 than ever touch another Call of Duty or any other 1st person shitter game. The lack of situational awareness alone, it's criminal.
Spark is faster than the car. There is no need to drive.
spark can't drift :3
@@N1M2077 you don't need to. I am a car hater myself
Fuck yeah it is, hell I'm playing it right now. I started playing it back in like 2015 but then I had a crappy cpu never completed the story mode and now finally I'm back to playing it on a good cpu
As soon as you said dishonored is your favourite game ever made, I subscribed. Not just an excellent video but an excellent video made by a man with excellent taste.
If you don't mind saying, what was your favourite level in the game?
Stop playing deception, my eyes bleed.
yeah, thats how I did it with this game, played it on and off. By attaching the security key to my acc. I passsively gained 100 Cartel coins per month and I've had my acc. for years, so I had some coins, I bought loot boxes, I got lucky with some overpriced decorations, I became a billionair, I started spending that money on nice armor sets and mounts, now I can play whatever class I want with really nice outfits which helps making the game a lot more fun, that being said, I am trying to save up for Tulak Hords lightsaber atm (my only realchallenge rn), because it's rare on the market and hella expensive
I honestly love Spark’s design in Spark 3. Super cute and cool looking, not to mention sexy as fuck
what?
I’m bewildered Bruddha what????
Dang.
I litterly found out this game the same way, but I have to wait a week to get it :(
I just recently played there games as well, I bought desperados 3 on steam deck and thought it was really cool. I then bought shadow tactics and had no idea it was the same studio at the time. I wish Mimimi the best but I can’t help but feel like they were about to take off in popularity but maybe they feel they’ve done what they could in this style game and want to move on. Either way I appreciate all 3 of those gems!!
Yaaaaas!! These games are amazing, AND they are soooo well ported to console too!!
dont you have Aiko's choice also ?
Found you tonight yay. I have watched a few vids, really enjoyed SWTOR in 2024. I L O V E D "Don't Listen to Critics". Seems people have forgotten how to just enjoy shows, games and cannot differentiate objectivity from personal opinion. My cousin and I talk about this often, You were spot on! I've subbed and the notifications are set to ring. until next time...
Started playing this game and after a month, rage quit. They should rename this game. Spend most of your time looking for the objective. SMOYTLFTO.
looking for objectives isn't hard though
You should check the Lamplighter's League. Surely not as perfect as Mimimi games, but it mix stealth strategy with CRPG in a really cool way. Also, the lore about agents in a 1930's alternate History, trying to stop, not one, but three secret societies to take over the world is awesome.
"When discussing which MMOS are worth playing, star wars the old republic is more often than not even brought up" - The first 10 seconds of the video. Thank you, thats what we need in content creators.
Watching this on 3/29/2024. Title is "Is SWTOR Worth Playing as a MMO in *2024*". Says it was posted 1 year ago. Which would be around the end of March, 2023. Time Travel or Typo? lol
It was posted in 2023, the game just hasn't had any major changes that obsolete the information in this video so I retitled it instead of remaking it. I explained this in comment that I forgot to pin, oops lol. Should be pinned now!
Thank you for the great review. I already played through the entire game and loved it to bits just like Shadow Tactics and Desperados, was just lookong for more on the game now that the DLCs are in reach for me. As something close to how great Mimimi games were, there's War Mongrels, a similar stealth tactics game set in WWII that I've honestly been greatly enjoying recently while waiting for Shadow Gambit's DLC. This kind of gives me hope that the stealth tactics genre won't die again so easily and other studios will create more fun games like these.
I love Mimimi's titles and I'm sad to see them go. I've heard of Sumerian Six which is about magic/ magwitch enhanced archaeologist commandos. It isn't out yet, but it looks to have some interesting ideas for abilities.
Hell yeah, Spark 3! I never minded the forced combat sections really as they make both thematic and mechanical sense. They only exist on specific side stages (and in the final stage, which is meant to challenge all your skills) and never in the main primary stages (to my memory). As a result in order to get your speed medals you have to show a mastery of both movement and combat speed rather than simply one or the other (or as people have pointed out be clever enough to dodge around the traps). By having required combat mixed with platforming between segements it makes it so the player cant just stack platforming or combat powers and is incentivized to use both (or just be really good) energy dash doesnt do anything on the combat wave levels and you wont use attack boosters during a platforming stage but a mixed stage means its optimal to mix them! Thematically, it works because the FF is trying to stop you, and locking the hero in a room with an ambush works for that (even if we know how it ends for those poor bots 😅) As for the score medals, the issue is for a lot of stages the overabundance of available points! The game DOES actually punish you for going slow/taking hits/dying by decreasing your score multiplier (it drops when you get hit/die, and it slowly decreases over time). Its most noticable when trying for diamond score medals in the Spark 2 throwback stages where if you arent fast enough or take too many hits you can actually get 100% of the available points on a level and not have enough for the medal! Im glad you mentioned the level design because i think Spark 3 genuinely has some of the BEST level design of any 3D platformer ive ever played. Levels manage to properly convey the scope of areas without being litteral 1 to 1s the way stages can be sprawling but you almost never get lost because the stages signpost themselves so well and funnel the player to the goal. The way you can take alternate paths or even take the same path in a different way (wall walking is so good) to more quickly get around obstacles or enemies. Protest City feels like im running through a massive downtown metropolis even with the games' simplistic artstyle and graphics! Its so good!
Damage floaters are such eye cancer...don't understand why everyone uses them.
what about swgemu? seems like star wars mmo with more depth
Funny how the same youtube recommendation lead me here and buying the whole trilogy
Their out of business
".... losses feel very bad...." well of course losses feel bad. I actually think this helps agains afkers in warzones. Since they might never finish their goal by griefing
Im really digging the new baggy pants. Even for female characters. The tight pants were boring and didnt match well with other pieces.
I loved Commandos games and when I played Shadow Tactics... WOW!!! What an absolute beatiful game. Sadly Mimimi is closing =(
Oh… I just discovered desperado 3 and I’m feeling like it’s a best game ever. So it’s an extremely disappointed to know that’s mimimi studio is closed 😢😢😢😢
Thank you for the video! I was one of the devs and it was actually my first professional project. While I am still sad that we had to close, I am glad that I got the chance to be part of the team. It was a great experience. Regarding the open level structure and free choice of characters: I actually wanted to implement some bonus levels in the style of the character tutorials in which the puzzles and characters are per-determined to create challenges in the style of the previous games. Unfortunately we didn't have time to add more stuff to the game so I couldn't follow through with that idea. Also an editor for the game is now available :) You cannot create completely new levels but you can change the NPCs on an island and even create new missions that can also be shared.
My friend, i do like your games and i appreciate all the hard work. Stealth is my favorite game genre. However, in Desperados 2......that may be where you dropped the ball. Over the top stealth that didn't work. Too few resources and Cooper, who's a gunslinger, can shoot once every 10 seconds. Do me a favor and play Desperados 2 if you haven't already. You can use the classic top-down view or isometric, not sure what it's called. And at any time, you can switch to 3rd person shooter and clear the entire map solo, you cannot kill civilians though or lawmen. If you do, it's game over. Best way is to change views within the same mission to get through different situations and to plan those pre-arranged co-op moves.
Desperados 3 needs more love. I bought it the day it came out (my birthday!) and I still have an itch to play it even after getting the platinum and completing the dlc
No, this whole genre needs more love. If there were more people know and love playing games like this, Mimimi wouldn't have to close the studio
