Same here. I finally walked away from WoW last year and have been loving SWTOR after being gone for years. I've also dabbled in STO which is enjoyable for the ship combat.

@@evozor5874 to be fair it’s a good game to take a break and come back to. I jus came back after when 330 gear was hard to get. Playerbase has doubled to about 6k concurrent since 7.2 dropped. I’m actually able to raid more than once a day and even early in the day
@@evozor5874 As a PvP player in Swtor trust me if you get hooked on the PvP aspect of the game you can see yourself playing to get top DPS numbers for months. Can't speak for the Raid aspect since Im not a fan of most raid's atmosphere's but the PvP can't definitely be addicting.
Still love this game. And even with all of the top notch games out there, it's still kind of a rarity to find one that is fully-voiced. Really enjoy the story and PvP. And the hours I can easily kill decorating my apartment or strongholds!
Feel free to spend some of those CC's on an Ashla saber and send it my way lol. Seriously though it's a game I find myself going back to on and off as well. Though I def need to try to find an active guild again at some point to get back into some of the ops and fps. I don't think I've really done any of those post Revan expansion that wasn't in solo mode.
crazy i think wow has moved away from the "fear of missing out" type of content in dragonflight hitting a point where you don't feel obligated to log in every single day has been pretty refreshing this expac tbh
Same as me. I dropped out from the game in 2020 due to my personal life getting busier, and playing the game right now, I am surprised there are same changes that is being made but still the same game I love when I first played. SWTOR FOREVER
swtor is my very first mmo i played, i started it 2016 however, so not there from the beginning of it. Im actually back playing it since a couple of weeks now, and while i dont really touch the expansions i enjoy the OG class storys again in full.
I have been playing SWTOR on and off since I was 15 and it went F2P cause I could not afford a subscription, to this day I always come back to it I love this game dearly and I love how casual I can play the game Im a ALT warrior
I've been playing since release and have stuck with it for many years, especially for the story. But at some point I just ran out of steam and switched to Elder Scrolls Online. I played all the stories, cleared all the maps and farmed my endgame gear. I came back for the Mandalorian story for 2 hours, but it's not really good for long-term motivation. And yes, the rewards in Galactic Seasons 3 are a cheek. Wish you and all enthusiasts a nice gaming time anyway: I'm waiting for a good Star Wars solo game^^
@@evozor5874 Absolutely, if you want to do crafting, it's practically impossible without a sub. But you don't have to take part in every nonsense and the combat system is very good!
@@samkorr5579 Actually, you really only have to sub once to get preferred. At preferred you get 2 skills permanently rather than one, 14 toons per server. at 7 toons you can cover every skill/farming. What -really- hurts is the 1 mill credit cap on toons, the lower rate of learning higher level schematics (it's half) and the killer is not being able to queue crafting, especially to make "bonded attachments" which you need for nearly everything. You can do everything with crafting still, it's just a lot slower. Oh, I play on star forge :)
I work remote, I'm a husband and a dad and I will never have the time to play games like my teen years. SWTOR was a God send for me since I can take weeks off and hop back in. And I was able to complete the entire game in like 4 months of playing an hour or 2 here and there. I've only done 1 and a 1/2 story campaigns so as long as they dont delete the game I hope to do them all. And the whole game can be completed easily as a solo.
100% agree, I love SWToR it's just i wanted to see endgame, but as a solo player it's harder. But like you i bought a 2 month card to be a sub, and if i get bored i can let it lapse 12/10
If Bioware would just put some love into this game, I think a lot more people would come back to it. They need to release a new expansion that actually has story. Onslaught was boring. I don't want an expansion tied to the player lead faction...and I think they would benefit from adding a new class, even if it doesn't come with a story.
The changes are definitely controversial and I get why people don't like them but most the classes still feel really close to their 6.0 iterations. I don't think they are bad, just bad by comparison. I like the new talent trees wayyyyyy more though.
I'm literally the same way about wow and swtor, listening to you describe why you quit in DF is basically like listening to myself :D at 36 I just... cba to do the Mythic Grind, and everything else is boring. But at the same time, I've always come back to SWTOR, love the setting , love the old WOTLK/Cata feel of the combat :)_
Ihave stared Swotor back in December of 2011 and have a 12 year on and off relationship with it. Still love it somewhat and have gotten the Datacron Master achievement only last year by getting the Endurace Dtatacron on Makeb. ))) The Class Stories were a blast especailly for the Chiss part of my Legacy: The Imp Sniper Lady and her brother the Jedi Knight , both were tied to my PvP and Biochem trade since the first time I got into that. I've returned a year ago to last Halloween thing and at least 3-4 years of story content. As for now, I am unable to even Sub, because my location in Big Bad Mother Russia is considered me a Persona non Grata for International Fund transfers... Now there is a costly way to get in you know the old Tradeway Market ))) P.S.: But hey we ar not that apset of fings gion je olden way an I'll wen af ave the time to finish ma bild on main Chiss Ladi the Imp Agent once more. Hope the fixed Malgus and drove the bugs out from his final battle were a lot of folk just Fell to thier Dets over and over again. )))
I quit WoW for swtor a year ago and I have no regrets. If I knew back in 2011 that wow was going to go down the shithole it is now, I would've rerolled swtor when it launched.
The ability to drop out and in is my main reason I keep coming back. I get obsessive over games I can play them for months as my go to then for months just not want to touch it, and back again. SWTOR makes that possible 'Get a two month sub, enjoy in my obsessive state, get another 2 month if it's a longer addiction... then let it sit in the background till my next round of addiction, and as said I have missed nothing everything added is sitting there waiting for me
I’ve been playing destiny 2 as my main game the past 10 years…tried SWtOR the same time as destiny 1 and loved both, but didn’t have my own PC…now with how shitty Lightfall dlc has been and Overwatch 2 PvE shitting the bed (my other main game), I’m finding myself desperate for another game…one without their hand out, telling me when to play and where my decision matters in the story I experience. Now that I have a pc…been trying SWtOR past month…subbed within days and haven’t touched destiny 2 or overwatch 2 since. This video is exactly my thoughts…complements my life, not replace it. You don’t need to no life a game to feel like you’re invested & building, if the devs build it right.
I think I played an old star wars mmorpg. Idk if it was an early version of swtor or if there were other star wars mmorpgs. I remember it looking more clone wars-ish and being alot more restrictive in what we could do. But when I first heard about swtor I always wanted to play. Never had the ability, Am now downloading it for the first time and hoping I enjoy it... Idk why its downloading at 700 kb/s tho. Most things I download usually go much faster >.>
Despite my dislike of Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne (and that one event involving a certain Shan that shall not ne named) SWTOR is a strong foundation worn down by years of neglect. If you don't mind the gameplay as well Revan's Character Assasination and the aforementioned expansions, it is still a fun game for me.
I love swtor. But it has not worked out as my main mmo due to lack of content. But i do have a good time when i play it and that is more than i can say about other mmo's with more content such as WoW.
@@evozor5874 yeah especially if you didn't play before the combat upgrade when it took months to become a jedi lol it was so fun 56 different interchangeable classes
Yeah I love SWTOR. The story is good. I definitely always bounce between it and wow. Now FF since the story in that is so good. The recent changes to swtor for me were good and real bad. As a pvp person they kind of killed the game for me removing competitive pvp but the good side is they removed the pvp restrictions of not being a sub so I have no reason to really pay for the game anymore. So I still play it but I guess I still have the competitive itch and can’t really see a MMO beating wow arena in that department. I’m playing swtor a little more now that I’m not a sub.
Ever think of doing some videos on crafting? I have almost 200h in SWTOR and haven't even touched crafting. I actually haven't touched anything outside the base game
That move gave me confidence that the game still has a decent future ahead of it. I hope EA comes to their sense and gives the game more funding, which is doubtful, but if they did the game could do really well.
@@evozor5874 I feel the same way :( It is very sad, the game has a relatively active player base, no where near to be considered a "dead game." There is definitely an audience that very much wants to play a Star Wars MMO and in this case, the only SW MMO. But it seems that EA's goal might have been just to set up another micro-transaction money printer and leave it be (like it does with it's FIFA sports games, they make more money off the in-game store purchases than they do actually just selling the game). I also don't remember the last time I've ever seen an advertisement for the game which feels like a red flag to me about how much EA cares. Their exclusivity license which I guess technically meant that they didn't HAVE to make a good product because there was no competition for what must have been over ten years now. It's funny too because now that that license deal has expired, immediately now we have like 4-5 more new starwars games announced coming out from different companies.
I play SWTOR and Guild Wars 2 b/c I can take breaks and it not be a problem. Give GW2 a shot it's great. The base game is free but it is a buy to play game so once you buy the DLC's you are set until the next DLC.
Love this game, When you have a 2factor authenticator app installed you get the microtransaction money every month for just having it, ive unlocked most of what subbed players have when im not subbed (permanent artifact equips etc)
sorry one more comment did you all know SWTOR has the world recored of recorded lines for any game ever made and they keep adding to it heck even the lowest npc on a street has a single line of voice acted monolog
Oh well, time to go back to Swtor, I only played it briefly in 2011, but it didn't have much end game content. Also I can see that you are a man of class, playing an enhancement shaman in Wow.
I would probably also make swtor my main mmo if it had proper support from EA/ Bioware, but it seems like it's the red headed step child of the company. It's a single rung on the ladder above life support.
I played and loved TOR unfortunately it has been a while since I joined because pro tip being in the third world means you have hardware that can be described as a decade behind everyone. Together with bad internet and it's a on and on deal when dealing with mmorpgs
I understand your struggle man, I've had the same issue first year i started playing but now i upgraded my laptop a bit and the internet been kind to me this past year.. 2 more characters until legendary status.
KOTOR has a way better storyline. However SWTOR is awesome for free to play. Also, SWTOR is the only free to play pc game I have found that has 4 player campaign co-op. I have done an entire light side and dark side playthrough 4 player co-op. Enjoying co-op campaign with three other friends has been a blast for a casual game.
oh and you can also do "old" content since i missed out on lws1 back as it cmae out it was a week and so forth and i coudnt log in and some stuff i now can do it witout thinking oh i did it way back and so forth it hooks me even if i repaly stuff so give GW2 a try maybe it hooks you also btw im a OLD gw1 palyer still play it this days and i must say the aging was well its like a fine wine and in gw2 jea tehre are some changes that wherned there in the begining but its ok too a bit strnage the lvl markings for stuff but ok
If you at any point want to work on achievements to 100%, my advice is consider it 100% without the czerka crate o matic... hunting for that killed my soul for a week before I gave up. However, with the cartel coins you got... maybe buy it off a player...
Swtor is pretty awesome. I always go back to it especially during the spring because of Star Wars day. Gotta whip out my Sith juggg to force choke a few Jedi. Muhahah a
It's become my main mmo too... I'm lazy to open my genshin impact now.. Becuz addicted with swtor Edited: I know genshin is not mmorpg.. Not try to compare with swtor anyways.. My point is swtor make me addicted than genshin impact
Is it easy pick up heard do lot stuff trail account be able play lot story without pay sub anything? Consider swtor few times but always flock wow private sever
This is why i do not play pay to win games or games that forces me to do dailies. I HATE Dailies so much, so sooo much. It kills games for me because it feels like a job. Thats is why i will never play Lost Ark for exemple.
Its not as big or WoW or FF but size doesn't really matter in theme park MMO's, as long as there are enough people to do content with your golden and, at least in my experience, there are more than enough people to do content with.
the community gets annoyin at times on stream. thats the downfall a bit. i had to ban so many goofballs, the toxic ones always go to the low end streams and act a fool thinking that we need them or somthing, then they get banned lol, they dont act a fool on high end streams i bet. the game is fun overall. i play for months then quit for years then rinse and repeat. everytime i come back it feels like a new game. been doing this since 2012 ( played the beta in 2011, the beta was like 2-3 months long i think)

going all in on swtor is gonna be months of fun. unfortunately the endgame is severely lacking
It is, that's why I never committed to it in the past but since I don't plan on grinding the game hard I'm hopeful that I'll have plenty of goals to works towards for a while.
@@DatManJB deception assassin PvP is so much fun. Not a huge fan of scrapping ranked pvp though.
I gravitate between SWTOR and ESO for many of the same reasons you talk about.
I always go back to ESO for new chapters, I don't stick around for long but its a really good game.
Still love this game. And even with all of the top notch games out there, it's still kind of a rarity to find one that is fully-voiced. Really enjoy the story and PvP. And the hours I can easily kill decorating my apartment or strongholds!
man I feel like logging in and seeing the characters I made 10 years ago still standing there...
Yeah finding a group to run with makes a big difference
It's truly an amazing game.
Indeed it is
Funny Timing. I quittet Wow a few Weeks ago for similar reasons and just reactivated my SW ToR Characters.
crazy i think wow has moved away from the "fear of missing out" type of content in dragonflight
hitting a point where you don't feel obligated to log in every single day has been pretty refreshing this expac tbh
IMMA jump on swtor. Also the new one that massive develops
Fair enough, and ESO is really good game (the monetization is horrid but besides that).
Swtor also has a very addictive housing feature!
I still need to get into it but from what I've done so far it seems like a really good feature.
Made me want to go back to swtor! Nice video
i'm enjoying coming back to SWTOR again
i really dont like their 7.0 class changes i use to come back to the game jst to play sage but it feels like its lost alot of depth
As a huge star wars nerd SWTOR is just amazing one of my fav games out there.
Ihave stared Swotor back in December of 2011 and have a 12 year on and off relationship with it. Still love it somewhat and have gotten the Datacron Master achievement only last year by getting the Endurace Dtatacron on Makeb. )))
The Class Stories were a blast especailly for the Chiss part of my Legacy: The Imp Sniper Lady and her brother the Jedi Knight , both were tied to my PvP and Biochem trade since the first time I got into that.
I've returned a year ago to last Halloween thing and at least 3-4 years of story content.
As for now, I am unable to even Sub, because my location in Big Bad Mother Russia is considered me a Persona non Grata for International Fund transfers...
Now there is a costly way to get in you know the old Tradeway Market )))
P.S.: But hey we ar not that apset of fings gion je olden way an I'll wen af ave the time to finish ma bild on main Chiss Ladi the Imp Agent once more.
Hope the fixed Malgus and drove the bugs out from his final battle were a lot of folk just Fell to thier Dets over and over again. )))
85 Mill credits are'nt an "insane" amount of anymore. The inflation is strong in this game :D Thanks for the vid :)
Back in the day when making your first 1 mill credits made you feel like a god.
so weird im doing the same thing, hopefully see ya around
I quit WoW for swtor a year ago and I have no regrets. If I knew back in 2011 that wow was going to go down the shithole it is now, I would've rerolled swtor when it launched.
I'll still defend WoW as I don't think its bad game but I prefer SWTOR at this point.
SWTOR is FML the GOAT MMO. I speak English I swear.
Swotor vs Wow, in wow, you feel pressured to gear up and progress raids, in Swotor you feel excited to see the story
Same about WoW here - except I switched to ESO
The ability to drop out and in is my main reason I keep coming back. I get obsessive over games I can play them for months as my go to then for months just not want to touch it, and back again. SWTOR makes that possible 'Get a two month sub, enjoy in my obsessive state, get another 2 month if it's a longer addiction... then let it sit in the background till my next round of addiction, and as said I have missed nothing everything added is sitting there waiting for me
whats your main class? i have been doing the same thing coming on and off back to this game, and i just am looking for a good dps class
I like the Assassin (deception). I have no idea where it fits in the meta but I find it really fun so its my go-to.
@@evozor5874 it’s actually at the top rn for good dps in pvp. I got mine to 70 now I’m trying an Anhi Mara
Still love this game. Started when it was launched and still find it fun.
I hear you brother
Despite my dislike of Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne (and that one event involving a certain Shan that shall not ne named) SWTOR is a strong foundation worn down by years of neglect. If you don't mind the gameplay as well Revan's Character Assasination and the aforementioned expansions, it is still a fun game for me.
lol I play this when it first came out and have not play it sense... I really wish I had time to play hopefully I get back into it someday
I love swtor. But it has not worked out as my main mmo due to lack of content. But i do have a good time when i play it and that is more than i can say about other mmo's with more content such as WoW.
Star Wars Galaxies will always be the best but most people didn't get the chance at that. This game is a pretty good second.
I prefer SWTOR but I didn't play too too much galaxies back in the day so its not really a fair comparison for me.
@@evozor5874 yeah especially if you didn't play before the combat upgrade when it took months to become a jedi lol it was so fun 56 different interchangeable classes
What server do you play on! I'd like to come join yah!
Lol I'm always coming back too, it's timeless
Swtor is my main mmo, started in 2014 so, also my Main characters are revan and Sauron my two favorite Dark Lords ever!!!
And now i have to download SWTOR again and play for one or two months! XD
I actually haven't touched anything outside the base game
there shifting the game over to 64 bit, the devs still seem like theyre doing their best with the scraps ea gives them.
True, I think it means that they will continue to support it.
Love this game, When you have a 2factor authenticator app installed you get the microtransaction money every month for just having it, ive unlocked most of what subbed players have when im not subbed (permanent artifact equips etc)
sorry one more comment did you all know SWTOR has the world recored of recorded lines for any game ever made and they keep adding to it heck even the lowest npc on a street has a single line of voice acted monolog
also the sub pays for it self , you get cartel coins with the sub ,so at the end you just paying for the coins .
I'm sorry to hear that DX, that sounds awful. Hopefully one day you'll be able to get a stable set up for it.
I understand your struggle man, I've had the same issue first year i started playing but now i upgraded my laptop a bit and the internet been kind to me this past year.. 2 more characters until legendary status.
Wish I had your operative build xd
My main issue is all my friends and guild stop playing and finding one that fits is difficult.
guild wars 2 is also a good one to check out as its kinda the same alt friendly wise and no fomo ect casual
Now since 2018? (Or with f2p was launched)
Swtor and runescape are my main mmos swtor has a amazing story while runescapes exploration is next gen even if its old gen
what about swgemu? seems like star wars mmo with more depth
Did they bring ranked PvP back??
Nope. I doubt they will.
Swtor is pretty awesome. I always go back to it especially during the spring because of Star Wars day. Gotta whip out my Sith juggg to force choke a few Jedi. Muhahah a
It's become my main mmo too...
I'm lazy to open my genshin impact now.. Becuz addicted with swtor
Edited: I know genshin is not mmorpg.. Not try to compare with swtor anyways..
My point is swtor make me addicted than genshin impact
You need commitment to do operations and the new one (only one that isn't obsolete) is very hard i've heard so... Not for casual player SWTOR
Is it easy pick up heard do lot stuff trail account be able play lot story without pay sub anything? Consider swtor few times but always flock wow private sever
Oh yeah, the free trail is absurdly generous. You can do each base class story completely for free which is hours upon hours of content.
My only problem with the game is I have spent close to 700$ on CM items. I just don’t mind supporting a great game tbh.
On and off since i was 12 im 18 now lol
This is why i do not play pay to win games or games that forces me to do dailies. I HATE Dailies so much, so sooo much. It kills games for me because it feels like a job. Thats is why i will never play Lost Ark for exemple.
Swtor amazing game!!!
how big is the playerbase atm?
I feel like WOW died when they wrote off Illidan.
SWTOR replaced Star Trek Online as my main MMO
Oh really? I've tried to get into Star Trek online but I never ended up sticking with it.
@@evozor5874 yep...i just do the events to get the free ships. i got 6 ships last year with minimal efffort. it's a good game with alot of good content but that star wars is on another level.
