Really sad that the Mimimi adventure comes to its end. You've been perfecting a genre since 2016 that will probably die with the closing of your studio. All we can hope for is that in 10 years, a small company says "Hey, remember Shadow Tactics? How it was cool? That's what we want to make!" The same way you probably did with the Commandos franchise. I'm wishing you the best for the future. To be happy in your future carrer the same way you made us happy with your fantastic games. We love you and you'll be missed ❤️
@@joelociraptorgaming80yea I should play the samuraï one i can't remember the title of it but these are just MADE for the steamdeck, perfect sofa gaming experience.
I remember when I saw Desperados 3 on steam! I was thrown straight back to a kellogs cornflake box that included a desperado dead or alive demo. I fell in love with the genre all over again!
Discovered the games when Desperados III randomly popped into my steam page on sale. Bought it, played the entire game as fast as humanly possible, and now SG is one of my favorite games of all time
I dunno if anyone else has commented it, but there were a fifth Commandos game called Commandos: Strike Force. It moved on from the isometric view to a first person view tho and you only got to play as three characters (the green beret, the spy and the sniper).
Desperados was my favourite game to play on PC as a kid. I'm glad the genre got revived. Played some Shadow Tactics today on a console and while the controls aren't as fluid as on PC, I;m already loving it (can't wait to try Desperados 3 in its own time)
A big thanks to Evo for helping introduce me to these games. I love a good strategy game and am working my way through the titans, although much more slowly since they do require a lot of energy and thinking. I loved the Cursed Crew demo and look forward to playing the full game someday. In the meantime, biding my time with Shadow Tactics.
Desperados 3 needs more love. I bought it the day it came out (my birthday!) and I still have an itch to play it even after getting the platinum and completing the dlc
Oh I love that you showed Styx gameplay. I had my issues with the first game which still felt a bit clunky but the second was a blast. I almost never hear of it despite it being a good stealth game.
Glad to see these games getting some love. Shadow Tactics is one of my favorite games of all time and I’m currently playing through Shadow Gambit and loving it. One day I’ll play Desperados 3 and I’m sure it’s gonna be great.
I got into Mimimi Games early this year when I was looking for games with a more Feudal Japan themed aesthetics and thats when I first discovered Shadow Tactics. I was cautiosly optimistic though since I never really into strategy games and more in action games like DMC and Sekiro and was pleasantly surprised that the game had a Steam Demo. I quickly installed it and right after first mission, I knew I am going to love this game and quickly purchased it and completed all missions with all badges along with DLC story (still doing speedruns badges though). And after Desperados and Shadow Gambit, I have been wondering on what other themes they can make their games on. Imagine this type of game with Aliens IP on a space station or something set in Gothic Horror London (like Bloodborne visually). But all these dreams died when I heard the news of their shutdown
I think a Cold War setting Spy scenario also sounds pretty interesting as well. Would be a perfect fit for the genre: you control a team of elite spies/secret agents/special forces that go behind enemy lines to gather intelligence, assasinate someone, sabotage, etc. (there was Phantom Doctrine, but that's more of a XCOM-clone than a Commandos-clone). Or as you said, a sci-fi setting with a playable cast of both humans and aliens (with their own unique abilities) that take you to various planets and space stations of the cosmos also sound pretty cool as well. :) I really hope that there could be a successor to Mimimi some time in the future and keeps this niche genre going. Mimimi has relit the torch, now it's up to someone else to make sure it doesn't go out.
Sweet summer child. You found Mimimi games right after the studio is closing down with no more games coming. How I wish I was in your place and could start playing them for the first time.
Well, I've now finished Shadow Gambit so (outside of 100% completion) I'm caught up. Can't believe they shut down right after I found them, I was really looking forward to what they would do in the future.
As soon as you said dishonored is your favourite game ever made, I subscribed. Not just an excellent video but an excellent video made by a man with excellent taste.
I just bought Shadow Tactics: Shogun after watching this video, and it's so perfect! Stealth at its peak! ❤ I used to love Space Marshals 2 for mobile, but Shadow Tactics is truly something else. Looking forward to Desperados 3 in the upcoming sales.
I'm also really excited about Shadow Gambit. I grew up watching my dad play games like Commandos, Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood (we need more Robin hood themed games btw), older Desperados games and Stronghold (not really similar to the other 3 games i mentioned but anyway) Really can't wait for this one. Mimimi games basically keeping these type of games alive alone. Great video :) subbed
I also enjoyed the games very much...hope that mimimi makes more games like this...and will love to see your take on a legendary game AOE and more games like that.
Yeah, it hasn't sunk in for me yet but I suspect it will once I finish Shadow Gambit. Its especially sad because this genre is so niche that, without Mimimi, we likely won't see many new additions to the genre let alone titles that match the quality of the Mimimi games.
They're all masterpieces. Shadow Gambit, despite having the most flaws, is actually my favorite of the 3 (I love the magical abilities and theme). D3 is definitely the best of the 3 from an objective standpoint though. Its just heartbreaking that they shut down, I would've loved to get more games from them. Also I found D3 the be harder than ST personally, each character having a wrist gun is extremely powerful.
I don't think that the stealth genre is dead or dying. There are many of us that like all the planning that comes with it. It's just that most companies are making first person shitters, without personality, so the kids can bug the parents to buy them such brainless games. Stealth goes hand in hand with patience. I prefer to play The Sims 4 than ever touch another Call of Duty or any other 1st person shitter game. The lack of situational awareness alone, it's criminal.
Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for the great games!

How dare you leave us so soon, now you’re gone, who gonna make us stealth tactic games ?
We are gonna miss you guys. Thanks for all the great games.
😢 Do you really have to shut down 😢
Mimimi Games have made the absolute best isometric strategy/stealth games of our generation. It is such a tragedy that they are closing their doors.
yes it is a tragedy, and all the blame goes to sweet baby inc extortions..

No, this whole genre needs more love. If there were more people know and love playing games like this, Mimimi wouldn't have to close the studio
Yaaaaas!! These games are amazing, AND they are soooo well ported to console too!!
You have not stopped having fun with MIMIMI games. I am thinking of buying Desperados 3 one day!
